The closest full-service campground is Shad Landing - Pocomoke River State Park, one of two campgrounds inside Pocomoke River State Park. It offers 175 campsites across multiple loops, with electric hookups on Acorn Trail, Deer Run, and Robin's Nest, plus a marina, boat ramp, fishing pier, playgrounds, and trails through the Pocomoke forest.
Private options within a short drive include Island Resort Campground in Newark, a lakeside RV park with full hookups, and Trails End Campground Resort. Closer to the coast, Sun Outdoors Ocean City Gateway and Bayside - Assateague Island National Seashore give RV travelers access to the beach corridor and the island's wild horses.

Paddling the Pocomoke River is the signature activity here. Shad Landing - Pocomoke River State Park runs a marina with a boat ramp and seasonal canoe and kayak rentals, plus a fishing pier and marked water trails suited to new paddlers.

Assateague Island National Seashore offers swimming, surfing, beachcombing, crabbing, clamming, and viewing of the island's wild horses, sika deer, and shorebirds. The Over-Sand Vehicle zone gives four-wheel-drive travelers access to miles of undeveloped beach.
Ocean City's boardwalk, restaurants, and amusements sit within a short drive, and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on the Virginia end of Assateague adds another wildlife-viewing option.

It was an amazing experience! The RV was new and very clean with paper products and some chairs and a table!
Cristina B. - Sep 2026
The RV was exactly what we needed and as pictured. We would 100% would rent again and would recommend. There were many things that we packed, thinking there would be nothing in the RV; but there were paper plates, paper towels, toilet paper, utensils: plastic reusable cups, bowls, pots, pans, a strainer, knives, and plates. There was also a boogie board, pillows, scented spray and multiple cleaning supplies, as well as hand soap. The RV was clean and set up properly when we arrived. There were also 2 outdoor reclining chairs and an outdoor table. The awning worked as it should, as well as the electric and generator. The stove was propane and had propane there already. The generator (additional cost) worked great and was easy to start, and refilled with gas. The electric was mostly solar power. The toilet worked well. We didnt utilize the shower, so we dont know about that, but they did fill our water tank for us prior to arrival. Overall, would absolutely recommend if you're looking for a great company to rent an RV from!

How to book campgrounds near Snow Hill
Reservations for Shad Landing - Pocomoke River State Park go through the Maryland state park system at parkreservations.maryland.gov or by phone. Some loops accept year-round bookings; others open only in season, so confirm loop dates before selecting a site.
Sites at Bayside - Assateague Island National Seashore book through Recreation.gov up to six months in advance, and reservations are required year-round for Bayside. Oceanside drive-in sites require reservations from March 15 through November 15 and are first-come, first-served the rest of the year.
Private parks such as Island Resort Campground, Trails End Campground Resort, and Sun Outdoors Ocean City Gateway book directly through the operator's website or by phone. For summer weekends, plan to reserve well in advance.

State park sites at Shad Landing - Pocomoke River State Park include a picnic table and fire ring, with electric hookups on three loops and no water hookups at individual sites. Travel trailers typically run about $75 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275, and larger Class A motorhomes can land between $250 and $400. Because Snow Hill is just 25 minutes from Ocean City and Assateague Island, summer weekends fill fast and prices climb. snowhillmd.gov/visitorsWhat do I need to rent an RV in Snow Hill, Maryland?
Good news: renting an RV in Snow Hill is refreshingly simple. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and a regular Class D license is all Maryland requires for the motorhomes and travel trailers on RVezy, no commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement needed. Visiting from outside the United States? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. RVezy verifies your ID right in the app during booking, so there's no extra office visit. Most first-time renters are surprised how quickly they go from browsing to confirmed, often within an hour of finding the right rig for their Maryland RV trip.
mva.maryland.gov/drivers/Pages/default.aspxIs RV rental in Snow Hill covered by insurance and roadside assistance?
Yes, and this is one of the best parts of booking through RVezy. Every motorhome rental in Snow Hill comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built right into your booking, so you are covered for eligible damage to the vehicle and have help a phone call away if you get a flat on Route 113 or need a jumpstart at Shad Landing. During checkout, you choose the protection level that fits your trip (Basic, Standard, or Premium), so you control the coverage, not the host. Pro tip: pair the Standard plan with a quick walkaround video at pickup, and you will have total peace of mind from Snow Hill all the way to Assateague Island.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Snow Hill RV rental?
Booking is low-risk, so go ahead and lock in those summer dates. RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every booking (hosts do not), and there is a grace period right after you book during which you can cancel for a full refund of the booking payment. After that, what you are refunded depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. For extenuating circumstances like hurricanes or tropical storms, which the Eastern Shore occasionally sees in late summer, RVezy support can help review options. Pro tip: if a nor'easter is brewing off the Atlantic, message your host early and contact RVezy support, the team handles weather-related changes regularly for Maryland coast trips.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Snow Hill RV trip?
Absolutely, Snow Hill is one of the most dog-friendly corners of Maryland. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly see motorhomes and travel trailers that welcome pups for your pet-friendly RV rental in Snow Hill. Pocomoke River State Park allows leashed pets at designated pet-friendly campsites, and Assateague Island National Seashore permits leashed dogs in the Maryland district's Bayside and Oceanside campgrounds (note: wild ponies roam freely, so a short leash is essential and keep a safe distance). Berlin's Main Street, just 20 minutes north, has water bowls outside many shops. Pro tip: ask your host about a removable seat cover, many include one free for traveling with pets.
nps.gov/asis/planyourvisit/pets.htmCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Snow Hill?
Yes, and RV delivery in Snow Hill is one of the smartest moves first-time renters make. Many local hosts will drop the rig directly at Shad Landing or Milburn Landing inside Pocomoke River State Park, at Castaways RV Resort up in Berlin, or at your private rental house in town, then level it, hook up water and electric, and walk you through every system before they leave. Just filter by Delivery on RVezy and message the host with your campsite number. Delivery fees typically run $2 to $4 per mile from the host's location. Pro tip: choose delivery if you are driving down from D.C. or Baltimore, you skip towing across the Bay Bridge entirely.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Snow%20Hill%2C%20MarylandHow many miles do I get with my Snow Hill RV rental?

Some hosts even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, look for that note on the listing. For reference, Assateague Island is about 25 miles away, Ocean City is about 30 miles, Chincoteague NWR is about 35 miles, and Cape Henlopen in Lewes, Delaware is about 55 miles. dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/pages/eastern/pocomokeriver.aspxWhen is the best time of year to RV camp in Snow Hill?
Snow Hill's sweet spot is mid-April through early June and again from September through late October. Spring brings 65 to 78°F days, dogwoods blooming along the Pocomoke, and far fewer mosquitoes than midsummer. Fall delivers crisp 60 to 75°F afternoons, golden cypress reflections on the river, and uncrowded campgrounds after Labor Day. July and August are warm (85 to 92°F) and humid with afternoon thunderstorms, but they're also peak Assateague pony-watching and Ocean City beach season. Winter camping is possible at select Pocomoke loops, with mild 40 to 55°F days. Pro tip: book the second or third weekend of October, you'll catch the Pocomoke River cypress at peak color and have your pick of riverside sites.
weather.gov/akq/I have never rented an RV before. Is Snow Hill a good place to start?
Snow Hill is one of the easiest first-time RV destinations on the East Coast, so you picked well. Roads here are flat, traffic is light outside Ocean City weekends, and Pocomoke River State Park's pull-through sites are forgiving for new drivers. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, propane, water, and waste tanks, and they are a text away during your trip. First time renting an RV? Choose a Class C motorhome (drives like a big van) or have the host deliver a travel trailer so you skip towing entirely. Pro tip: do a practice loop around the Worcester County backroads before heading to your campsite, you will feel like a pro within an hour.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if my RV breaks down near Snow Hill?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so whether you are stuck with a flat on US-113, need a tow near the Pocomoke River, or run out of fuel near Berlin, one phone call gets help dispatched. Common issues like dead batteries, lockouts, and tire changes are covered. Your host is also a direct text away to troubleshoot quirky things like a stubborn awning or a fussy fridge. Salisbury (about 18 miles) and Pocomoke City (about 8 miles) are the nearest service hubs. Pro tip: snap a photo of the RV's VIN and the roadside assistance number before you leave the driveway, you will have it ready instantly if needed.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Snow Hill RV rental into Delaware, Virginia, or beyond?
Yes, cross-state RV road trips from Snow Hill are wide open, this is one of the best things about renting on the Delmarva Peninsula. You are free to drive into Delaware (Rehoboth and Cape Henlopen are about 55 miles north), Virginia (Chincoteague NWR is about 35 miles south, Virginia Beach is about 110 miles), Pennsylvania, and up the East Coast. Confirm any multi-state plans with your host so they can note it on the trip. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals due to insurance limits, and travel to Canada may be allowed with host approval. Pro tip: an RV road trip from Snow Hill down the Eastern Shore to Cape Charles and across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is one of the most scenic drives in the region.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage should I expect and how much will gas cost?
Fuel budgeting on the Eastern Shore is friendlier than most regions because distances are short. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 miles per gallon (mpg), Class A's run 6 to 10 mpg, campervans hit 16 to 20 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 mpg combined). Gas in Worcester County typically runs a bit below the Maryland average, with stations in Snow Hill, Pocomoke City, and Berlin offering competitive pricing. A typical 4-night trip covering 200 miles in a Class C costs roughly $80 to $110 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Royal Farms in Pocomoke City, locals know it's consistently a few cents cheaper than the Ocean City stations.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Snow Hill?
For the best sites, plan ahead, but you still have flexibility. Pocomoke River State Park's Shad Landing and Milburn Landing accept reservations through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources reservation system, and summer weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day book up quickly. Assateague State Park is even more competitive, set a calendar alert for as early as the reservation window opens. Castaways in Berlin and private parks usually have more last-minute openings. Shoulder-season trips (April, May, late September, October) can often be booked just 2 to 4 weeks out. Pro tip: if you strike out at Shad Landing, try Milburn Landing, it is quieter, equally beautiful, and frequently has openings.
dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/Pages/Reservations.aspxWhat are the roads like for driving an RV around Snow Hill?
You'll love driving here, Snow Hill is one of the most RV-friendly areas on the East Coast. Roads are flat (elevation rarely exceeds 45 feet), lanes are wide on US-113 and MD-12, and there are no mountain grades or tight switchbacks to worry about. The main thing to watch is the historic downtown Snow Hill grid, where some streets are narrow and tree-canopied, stick to Bay Street and Market Street with a larger rig. The Pocomoke River bridge has standard clearances, no issue for any RV. Summer brings heavy beach traffic on US-50 toward Ocean City on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings. Pro tip: drive to Assateague midweek or before 9 a.m. on weekends to skip the bridge backup at the Verrazano Bridge to the island.

A refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card before pickup and released after the trip, separate from your booking payment, once the RV is returned in the agreed condition.
