Campgrounds and RV parks near Cochituate, MA

Cochituate sits in MetroWest Massachusetts, just off the Massachusetts Turnpike and about a half-hour drive from downtown Boston. The village borders Cochituate State Park, an 872-acre day-use park built around Lake Cochituate, whose three interconnected ponds (North, Middle, and South) cover roughly 625 acres and are linked by tunnels beneath the highway. The park itself does not offer overnight accommodations, but several private campgrounds within an easy drive serve RV travelers using Cochituate as a base for the greater Boston area. The closest full-service options include Circle CG Farm Campground in Bellingham and Spacious Skies Minute Man in Littleton, set in the historic Concord and Walden Pond area. Farther south, Normandy Farms Campground is tucked into the woods between Boston and Cape Cod in Foxboro, and has operated as a family-run resort since 1971. Berry's Grove Campground offers a smaller, quieter alternative. For a very different experience, Boston Harbor Islands - Thompson Island is part of the harbor islands park system, though camping in the park takes place on Peddocks Island by ferry and requires leaving the RV on the mainland.

Private campgrounds handle their own reservations. Normandy Farms accepts reservations in person, by phone, or online, with a deposit due at the time of booking. Spacious Skies Minute Man and Circle CG Farm both take reservations directly through their websites or by phone, and popular summer weekends near Gillette Stadium events tend to sell out weeks or months ahead. Boston Harbor Islands camping on Peddocks Island is booked through the Massachusetts DCR ReserveAmerica portal, with reservations available up to four months in advance of check-in. Ferry capacity from Hingham is limited, so campers are strongly encouraged to book ferry passage right after making a camping reservation. Massachusetts prohibits the transportation of firewood into or out of DCR campgrounds, so plan to buy wood on site.
