Campgrounds and RV parks near Raynham Center, MA

On-site activity varies sharply between parks. Massasoit State Park has swimming, kayaking, mountain-biking, hiking, and fishing, with ponds stocked for anglers and a designated swimming beach. At Normandy Farms, a 20,000-square-foot recreation lodge serves as the hub with a fitness center, sauna, wellness center, arcade, and heated indoor pool, plus three outdoor pools, a splash pad, a stocked fishing pond, playgrounds, sports courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, and a BMX pump track. A large off-leash dog park sits on site. Off-site day trips are the main draw. Middleboro, Foxboro, and Mansfield all sit within about an hour of Boston, Cape Cod, Plymouth, and Providence, Rhode Island. Plymouth is a short drive for the waterfront and Pilgrim Memorial State Park, and cranberry-bog country, coastal beaches, and harbor cruises round out a typical itinerary.

Peak season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, when both state and private parks are fully staffed and scheduled programming runs. Weekends in July and August book out early, especially at Normandy Farms and the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday. Shoulder season, from mid-September through mid-October, is often the best window for RV renters. Massasoit is a popular park to visit in the fall, when the contrast of scarlet cranberry bogs and pine trees is on display, and peak foliage in eastern Massachusetts is generally in early-to-mid October. Nights are cool but daytime temperatures remain comfortable for hiking and touring. Winter camping is limited. The DCR camping season runs from April through October, so Massasoit and other state sites close for the winter, and travelers looking for an off-season option typically fall back on private parks that stay open with reduced services. Firewood rules apply year-round in the state system: Massachusetts prohibits the transportation of firewood or wood products into or out of any DCR campground.

Site character differs by park. Massasoit's campground has sites with 20/30/50 amp electric, tent sites, and a generator-free area, with accessible flush toilets, showers, and a dumping station on site. No sewer hookups are available at individual sites. Private parks in the area typically offer full hookups: Normandy Farms and the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday both offer pull-through full-hookup sites suitable for larger rigs, and Canoe River Campground provides wooded full-hookup and tent sites. Expect wooded, pine-forest settings across the region. Bring bug spray from late spring through summer, and plan for cool overnight temperatures in shoulder season. Cell coverage is generally reliable near the highways; WiFi at private parks ranges from complimentary basic service to paid upgrades.
