Campgrounds and RV parks near Revere, MA

Revere sits on the north shore of Boston Harbor, which puts RV travelers within reach of two distinct camping worlds: the harbor islands to the south and the wooded state forests just inland. There are no RV-hookup campgrounds within Revere city limits, so most trips stage from a nearby state forest or private park and use Revere as a day base for the beach and the MBTA Blue Line into Boston. The Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park spans a cluster of islands off the downtown waterfront. Camping is currently offered only on Peddocks Island, with Lovells, Bumpkin, and Grape Islands closed to camping this season due to the need for new clevis systems and the lack of ferry service to those islands. These are tent and yurt destinations reached by ferry, not RV sites, but they pair well with an RV base on the mainland. Inland, Harold Parker State Forest Lorraine Park in Andover is the closest full-service campground with sites suited to RVs, trailers, and tents, roughly a half-hour drive north of Revere.

Massachusetts state park sites, including Harold Parker State Forest Lorraine Park and the Peddocks Island sites within Boston Harbor Islands, are booked through the DCR reservation system. Reservations are required and can be made through Reserve America on their website or via phone at 877-422-6762. A photo ID matching the name on the reservation is required at check-in, and the primary occupant must be at least 18. For the harbor islands, ferry tickets are booked separately from the campsite. Ferry capacities are limited, and campers are strongly encouraged to book ferry passage immediately after making their camping reservation. Walk-in registrations are not permitted, and advance reservations can be made same day up until 2 pm on the date of arrival.
