Campgrounds and RV parks near Wellesley, MA

Wellesley sits about fifteen miles west of Boston in eastern Massachusetts, making it a practical base for RV travelers who want city access without parking a rig downtown. The town itself has no RV campground, so renters look south and east toward the Interstate 95 and Route 495 corridors, where several full-service parks operate within a forty-five minute drive. Normandy Farms Campground in Foxborough is the closest large-scale RV resort, offering full hookups, pull-through sites, and family amenities on wooded grounds. Circle CG Farm Campground in Bellingham and Canoe River Campground in Mansfield round out the private options south of the city, both accessible via major highways. For a car-free experience, the Boston Harbor Islands national and state park offers tent and yurt camping on Peddocks Island, reached by ferry from Hingham. Thompson Island, also in the harbor, is managed separately by the Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center and is not a public RV campground. These island sites are walk-in only and not suitable for RVs, but they pair well with an inland RV stay as a side trip.

Private campgrounds around Wellesley, including Normandy Farms Campground, Circle CG Farm Campground, and Canoe River Campground, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends, especially those tied to Gillette Stadium events, sell out well in advance, so booking eight to twelve weeks ahead is advisable for peak dates. Massachusetts DCR state parks use the ReserveAmerica system, with a booking window that opens up to four months ahead of the arrival date. Boston Harbor Islands camping on Peddocks Island is also reserved through ReserveAmerica on the same four-month window, and roundtrip ferry tickets from Hingham Shipyard must be booked separately. Cancellation policies vary by property. Most private parks require a deposit at booking and charge fees for late changes.
