Campgrounds and RV parks near Green Isle, MN

Green Isle sits in Sibley County in south-central Minnesota, roughly an hour southwest of the Twin Cities and within easy driving distance of the Minnesota River Valley. The town itself is small and rural, but its location puts RV renters within reach of state park units, private RV resorts, and lake campgrounds spread across the surrounding farmland and river bluffs. Most campgrounds near Green Isle fall into one of three categories: state-managed sites inside Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area, a unit of the Minnesota state park system composed of waysides strung along the Minnesota River between Shakopee and Belle Plaine; full-hookup private parks such as Codgers Cover RV Resort and Cokato Lake RV Resort; and family-oriented destinations like Minneapolis Southwest KOA Holiday. Peaceful Valley Campsites is among the closest options to Green Isle proper, while the KOA in Jordan and the equestrian campground at Minnesota Valley State Park sit a short drive east along Highway 169, making the area a practical base for exploring the river valley and the southwest metro.

State park and recreation area sites are handled through the Minnesota DNR reservation system. All campsites in Minnesota state parks and recreation areas require a reservation before they may be occupied, and reservations are strongly recommended before leaving home because cell coverage can be unpredictable in the river valley. Minnesota opens reservations 120 days in advance, and new dates become available each morning at 8:00 AM Central Time. A camping reservation does not replace the vehicle permit: all vehicles entering a Minnesota state park or recreation area must display a state park vehicle permit. The maximum length for a single camping reservation is 14 nights. Private parks such as Minneapolis Southwest KOA Holiday, Codgers Cover RV Resort, Cokato Lake RV Resort, and Peaceful Valley Campsites take bookings directly through their own websites or the KOA reservation platform, with separate cancellation policies from the state system.
