Concordia sits along Interstate 70 in Lafayette County, roughly halfway between Kansas City and Columbia. The location makes it a practical overnight stop for cross-state RV travel and a workable base for exploring west-central Missouri, including the rolling farmland and oak woodlands typical of the region.
Private RV parks close to town include The Great Escape RV and Camp Resort, Green Acres Country Retreat, Happy Times Campground, and Owl Creek RV Park. These properties tend to offer full hookups, level pads, and easy interstate access, which suits both quick overnights and longer stays.
For a public-land option, Knob Noster State Park lies a short drive south. The campground is located in a peaceful setting of open oak woodland with prairie patches along the meandering Clearfork Creek in west-central Missouri and offers a variety of camping options including basic sites, electric sites, and full hookup sites with sewer/electric/water connections. Together, the private parks and the state park give RV renters a mix of amenity-focused stays and traditional state-park camping within a small radius of Concordia.

A recent renovation upgraded electrical service to 50-amp at sites 1-25, and eight of those sites were upgraded to include full hook-ups. Sites 30-71 have 30-amp service and operate seasonally from April 15 through October 31. The park does not allow converter devices of any kind that will potentially convert 30 amp to 50 amp. Water is available through several communal spigots located throughout the campground, two shower houses are available with both flush and vault toilets, and other facilities include an amphitheater, a parking lot, a dumpster, and firewood sales.
Camping is limited to any 15 days within a 30-consecutive-day period at any one park or historic site. No more than two dogs per campsite are recommended, and pets must be supervised and kept on leashes no longer than 10 feet at all times.
