Campgrounds and RV parks near North Kansas City, MO

North Kansas City sits just across the Missouri River from downtown Kansas City, giving RV travelers quick interstate access to I-29, I-35, I-70, and I-435. Most campgrounds in the metro are private RV parks rather than state or federal sites, so full hookups, paved pads, and family amenities are the norm. Worlds Of Fun Village sits steps from Worlds of Fun amusement park and Oceans of Fun waterpark in Kansas City and features cabins, cottages, and deluxe RV sites. North of the city, Basswood Resort in Platte City is roughly 20 miles from downtown and offers full hook-up sites with 30 and 50 amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV, and Wi-Fi. Autumn Falls RV Park, Campus RV Park, and Walnut Grove RV Park round out closer options for travelers who want a shorter drive into the urban core. Most sites in the area accept large rigs and can be booked online, though a few smaller parks still take reservations by phone. Weekend availability tightens fast around major events at Arrowhead Stadium, Kauffman Stadium, and Worlds of Fun.

Most Kansas City area RV parks take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Worlds Of Fun Village books through the amusement park operator, and Basswood Resort takes reservations through its own site. Third-party platforms such as Campspot, RoverPass, and The Dyrt also list several nearby parks. For summer weekends and any Chiefs, Royals, NASCAR, or Worlds of Fun event date, reserve four to eight weeks ahead. Peak holidays including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day fill earliest. Cancellation windows vary by park, and refund policies can be strict on short notice. Read each park's policy before booking, and confirm any deposit requirements at the time of reservation.
