Campgrounds and RV parks near Arlington, NE

Arlington sits in Washington County in eastern Nebraska, roughly a half-hour drive northwest of Omaha and within easy reach of the Platte and Elkhorn river corridors. Most RV travelers use the town as a quiet base for accessing state-run recreation on the two rivers to the south and private riverside camping to the east. The closest option is RiverWest Park, a riverfront property near Waterloo that offers 30-amp service, tubing on the Elkhorn River, and a mix of RV and tent sites in a rustic, events-driven setting. It is a compact park with limited hookups and gravel parking, better suited to smaller rigs and self-contained campers. A short drive south, Two Rivers State Recreation Area anchors the region with several distinct campgrounds, including Cottonwood, Oak Grove, Goldenrod, and Riverside. The park spans roughly 622 acres between the Elkhorn and Platte rivers with seven sandpit lakes, and it offers a wider range of hookups, modern restrooms with showers, and a dump and fill station.

Two Rivers State Recreation Area is managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Reservations for the campgrounds, including Cottonwood, Oak Grove, Goldenrod, and Riverside, are handled through the state reservation system online or by phone at 1-844-637-2757. Roughly half of the sites are reservable up to 180 days in advance, and the remaining sites are held for first-come, first-served arrivals. Caboose cabins can be booked up to one year ahead. A Nebraska State Park Permit is required on every vehicle entering the park, in addition to the nightly camping fee. Daily and annual permits are both available and can be purchased online or on site. RiverWest Park is privately operated and books directly through the campground. Weekends around music events and holidays sell out well ahead, so plan early for summer stays.
