Campgrounds and RV parks near Lemmon Valley, NV

Lemmon Valley sits in the high desert north of Reno, just off US-395 in Washoe County. The area functions as a quiet base for RV travelers who want quick access to Reno-Sparks attractions, Pyramid Lake, and the Lake Tahoe basin without paying downtown-resort rates. Elevation is roughly 5,000 feet, so nights run cool even in midsummer. RV options within a short drive skew toward full-hookup commercial parks rather than public campgrounds. Shamrock RV Park and Keystone RV Park serve travelers staying close to north Reno, while River West Resort sits along the Truckee River close to downtown Reno. Reno RV Park adds another in-town option, and the Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park places guests next to a major casino resort on the south side of the city. Public tent and RV camping is limited near Lemmon Valley itself. Most nature-oriented sites lie south toward Washoe Lake State Park, a basecamp for the Reno and Lake Tahoe areas about 30 minutes from Carson City, west toward the Sierra Nevada, or east toward Pyramid Lake on Paiute tribal land.

Private RV parks in the Reno area, including Shamrock RV Park, Keystone RV Park, River West Resort, Reno RV Park, and the Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Booking a few weeks out is usually adequate outside of major event weekends, when several months of lead time is safer. For public land, Nevada State Parks uses a centralized system. Sites open for booking on Reserve Nevada up to 11 months ahead at 8:00 a.m. Pacific, and online camping reservations must be made at least three days in advance. At Washoe Lake State Park, the park has 49 campsites, Campground A offers water and utility hookups at all of its sites while Campground B is open seasonally without utilities, and reservations can be made in advance but are not required. Federal sites in the surrounding national forests are reserved through Recreation.gov.
