Campgrounds and RV parks near Camillus, NY

Camillus sits in Onondaga County just west of Syracuse, putting RV travelers within a short drive of the Finger Lakes region, the Erie Canalway, and the Lake Ontario shoreline. The town itself is suburban, so most overnight options are private RV parks and small campgrounds spread across the surrounding counties rather than sites inside the village limits. Close-in choices include Pleasant Lake RV Park, Sunset Park Campground Inc., and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort, all reachable within an easy drive. Farther out toward Cayuga County, Riverforest Park Campground and Marina sits on the Seneca River between Syracuse and Rochester and offers large sites, riverfront access, and full-service RV amenities. Race fans can also base out of Weedsport Speedway, which has reserved trackside camping with water and power hookups on race weekends. Public camping is available at nearby New York State Parks, with Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville being the closest public option, featuring two glacial meromictic lakes, a sandy swim beach, and tent, cabin, and RV sites set among the trees.

Private campgrounds near Camillus, including Sunset Park Campground Inc., Pleasant Lake RV Park, Riverforest Park Campground and Marina, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Weedsport Speedway sells its trackside camping through the speedway, and race weekends fill first, so lock in dates as soon as the schedule posts. For state-run campgrounds in the region, both OPRHP sites such as Green Lakes and DEC campgrounds use the same portal. New York State Parks operate on a nine-month rolling reservation window, meaning a campsite can be reserved up to nine months in advance of the desired arrival date through ReserveAmerica, either online or by phone. Prime spots at popular parks can book within minutes of the window opening, so target the exact release time for weekend and holiday stays.
