Campgrounds and RV parks near Cutchogue, NY

Cutchogue sits on the North Fork of Long Island in Suffolk County, surrounded by farmland, vineyards, and Long Island Sound beaches. RV travelers use it as a base for the wineries of Route 25, Orient Point, and the ferries to New England. Camping inventory on the North Fork itself is limited, so most renters split between private parks close to town and state-run beach campgrounds within an hour or two by road or ferry. Eastern Long Island Kampground in nearby Greenport is the closest full-service option, with 186 sites, electric and sewer hookups, a pool, laundry, and a camp store. Wildwood State Park, on the Sound bluffs west of Cutchogue near Wading River, adds public-land camping with a beach and hiking trails. Across the Sound, Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, Connecticut, and Riverdale Farm CampSites in Clinton are reachable via the Cross Sound Ferry from Orient Point, with Niantic/I-95 Exit 72 KOA a short drive further east.

Public and private parks use different systems, so plan two booking tracks. New York State Parks, including Wildwood, use ReserveAmerica. Reservations for Wildwood State Park can be made online or by phone at 1-800-456-CAMP, up to nine months in advance, with a one-day minimum lead time. Walk-ins are accepted on campsites when space allows, and same-day reservations are allowed until 3 p.m. during the open season. Connecticut state parks, including Hammonasset, also use ReserveAmerica; reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance with a one-day minimum lead time. Private parks book directly. Eastern Long Island Kampground takes reservations by phone or through its website, and Riverdale Farm CampSites books by phone with a two-night minimum. For peak summer weekends, lock in dates as soon as the booking window opens.
