Campgrounds and RV parks near Fort Covington, NY

Fort Covington is a small town in Franklin County, New York, sitting on the county's northern edge along the Canada-United States border. Its position on the Salmon River, near where it meets the St. Lawrence Valley, puts RV renters within easy reach of camping options on both sides of the international line, spanning northern New York, eastern Ontario, and southwestern Quebec. Most of the closest developed campgrounds lie across the border in Ontario's South Glengarry area and along the St. Lawrence River. Cameron's Point Family Campground and Lancaster Park Outdoor Resort operate near Lancaster, Ontario, while Charlottenburgh Park is located on the St. Lawrence River near Summerstown, just a few kilometres east of Cornwall and is run by a regional conservation authority. Pine Ridge Park Campsite adds another Ontario option, and Camping Le Dauphin serves travelers heading north into Quebec. Expect a mix of private family campgrounds and conservation-area parks rather than large state or national park systems within the immediate radius. Renters should plan a border crossing for most sites and carry passports or enhanced IDs for every occupant of the RV.

Ontario conservation-area parks such as Charlottenburgh Park take reservations directly through the operating authority. Managed by the Raisin Region Conservation Authority, Charlottenburgh Park opens online reservations in early March for the upcoming camping season, so popular waterfront and serviced lots should be booked as soon as the system opens. Private campgrounds including Cameron's Point Family Campground, Pine Ridge Park Campsite, and Lancaster Park Outdoor Resort book through their own websites or by phone, and many offer seasonal as well as nightly stays. Camping Le Dauphin and other Quebec-side campgrounds use their own reservation portals; French-language listings are common, so confirm hookup type and rig-length limits in writing before arrival. For summer weekends, secure a site four to eight weeks out. Border-crossing RV renters should build extra time into arrival day and confirm each campground's check-in cutoff, since late arrivals after office hours are often not accommodated.
