Campgrounds and RV parks near Lakeville, NY

Conesus Lake is the local draw. Water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, sailing, and largemouth bass fishing all happen on the lake, and small-boat and kayak rentals are available from lakeside operators. Guests at Conesus Lake Campground can fish from the dock, launch a boat, or use the heated indoor pool on cooler days. Letchworth State Park, known as the Grand Canyon of the East, has the region's headline hiking. The Genesee River drops through three major waterfalls between cliffs that reach roughly 600 feet, and 66 miles of multi-use trails cover the park. Closer to Lakeville, Hemlock-Canadice State Forest offers quiet hiking and paddling on undeveloped lakes, and the surrounding Finger Lakes wine trail adds tasting rooms within short drives.

The private campgrounds around Lakeville generally run a mid-spring through mid-fall season. Conesus Lake Campground, for example, operates from May 15 through October 15, and other private parks follow similar windows. Letchworth's tent and trailer campgrounds also run a seasonal calendar, with most loops open from late spring into October. Summer is peak. July and August bring the warmest lake temperatures, the busiest weekends, and the fullest activity calendars at family parks, along with occasional afternoon thunderstorms. Late June through August is also when Letchworth's pool opens and its full slate of programs runs. Fall is the region's other high season. Cooler nights, foliage color through the Genesee gorge, and thinner crowds make September and early October a strong window, though heavy rain and the first frosts arrive by late October. Winter closes most private campgrounds and much of the state-park camping, but Letchworth stays open for day use with snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Private parks near Lakeville generally offer full hookups with 20, 30, and 50-amp service, dump stations, Wi-Fi, laundry, camp stores, and playgrounds. Conesus Lake Campground has about 140 sites, cable at many sites, a heated indoor pool, and lake access for fishing and boat rentals. Tamarack Campgrounds adds an outdoor pool, mini-golf, an arcade, and organized weekend activities that skew family-friendly. Letchworth's campground has roughly 270 tent, trailer, and RV sites across eight loops, all with electric hookups, plus water spigots, restrooms with showers, and a dump station. Sites are wooded and shaded. Cell service can be spotty inside the park, so download maps in advance. Ongoing shower-building construction is expected to phase some loops offline, so confirm loop availability at booking.
