Campgrounds and RV parks near Liverpool, NY

Liverpool sits on the northwest shore of Onondaga Lake, minutes from downtown Syracuse and within easy reach of Central New York's state parks, Finger Lakes, and Lake Ontario shoreline. RV travelers use it as a base for exploring inland forests, glacial lakes, and Erie Canal towns without long transit days between stops. The area's flagship public camping option is Green Lakes State Park, located just east of Syracuse and known for two meromictic glacial lakes surrounded by upland forest. Private options within roughly an hour's drive include Pleasant Lake RV Park, Sunset Park Campground Inc., Bass Lake Resort, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort near Mexico, New York, on the Little Salmon River about two miles from Lake Ontario. Most campgrounds in the region are seasonal, running roughly from mid-spring through mid-October. Full-hookup RV sites, electric-only sites, tent sites, and cabin rentals are all available across the mix of state and private parks, so trip planning usually comes down to matching amenities, activity level, and driving distance from Liverpool.

New York State Park campsites, including Green Lakes State Park, are reserved through the ReserveAmerica system, either online or by phone at 1-800-456-2267. From mid-May to early October, same-day reservations are only permitted until 3 p.m., and this applies to campsites only. Private parks book directly with the operator. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort in Mexico takes reservations by phone and online, and Pleasant Lake RV Park, Sunset Park Campground Inc., and Bass Lake Resort each publish their own booking, deposit, and cancellation policies on their websites.
