Campgrounds and RV parks near Sagaponack, NY

Sagaponack sits on the South Fork of Long Island between Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor, surrounded by farmland, ocean beaches, and the villages of the Hamptons. The village itself has no public campground, so RV travelers rely on parks farther east on Long Island or across Long Island Sound in coastal Connecticut, reached by the Cross Sound Ferry from Orient Point to New London. The closest option on the North Fork is Eastern Long Island Kampground in Greenport, a family campground with electric, water, and sewer hookups, a pool, and a camp store. East of Sagaponack, Hither Hills State Park in Montauk fronts a two-mile ocean beach with a large seasonal campground. Across the Sound, Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme and Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison offer state-run shoreline camping, and Niantic/I-95 Exit 72 KOA sits near the Rocky Neck exit for RVers wanting full hookups. All are within a half-day of Sagaponack via ferry or the Long Island Expressway.

New York state parks use ReserveAmerica, and Hither Hills opens its reservation window nine months ahead of arrival. During peak season from mid-June to mid-September, stays require a seven-night reservation beginning on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday in designated loops, limited to one reservation per household. Off-peak minimum is two nights, and popular summer weeks can sell out within minutes of release. Connecticut state parks also use ReserveAmerica, with an eleven-month booking window. Rocky Neck and Hammonasset Beach require a seven-night Sunday-to-Sunday minimum at shoreline sites, and pets are not permitted at Rocky Neck. Private parks such as Eastern Long Island Kampground and Niantic/I-95 Exit 72 KOA book directly through their own websites or the KOA reservation system and generally accept shorter stays.
