Campgrounds and RV parks near Spencerport, NY

Spencerport sits on the Erie Canal just west of Rochester, giving RV travelers quick access to Lake Ontario beaches, Genesee County farmland, and the western Finger Lakes. Nearby campgrounds cluster in two directions: north toward the lakeshore and south toward Le Roy and Byron along the Interstate 90 corridor. Hamlin Beach State Park is the closest public campground with a full lakeshore setting, run by New York State Parks and reserved through ReserveAmerica. Private options fill in around it. Timberline Lake Park Camping and The Ridge NY sit south in Le Roy, while Adventure Bound Southwoods and Southwoods RV Resort operate as a single family camping resort in Byron. Rochester, which the region draws its weather and services from, has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. That climate shapes the camping season: nearly every campground in this region is a warm-weather operation running roughly May through October, with reservations essential on holiday weekends.

Hamlin Beach State Park is booked through ReserveAmerica, either online or by calling 1-800-456-2267. Camping reservations can be made up to nine months in advance, and same-day reservations are accepted until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival for campsites only. The reservation holder must be on site throughout the stay, and the camper must be at least 18 years old to hold the permit. Private campgrounds handle their own bookings. Timberline Lake Park Camping and The Ridge NY reserve through their own websites and phone lines, and Adventure Bound Southwoods and Southwoods RV Resort book directly through the abcamping.com site or by phone. For summer weekends, book as early as possible. State park loops at Hamlin Beach fill months out, and full-hookup sites at the private resorts sell out for holiday weekends.
