Campgrounds and RV parks near Reile's Acres, ND

Trail and prairie access is the main draw east of the metro. Buffalo River State Park protects one of the largest and highest-quality prairie remnants in Minnesota, together with the adjacent Bluestem Prairie Scientific and Natural Area, with hiking trails winding through prairie and riverside woodland. Bobolinks, prairie chickens, marbled godwits and upland sandpipers frequent the park, and a picnic area, swimming area and campground sit in the hardwood forest along the Buffalo River. Southwest of Reile's Acres, Sheyenne Oaks Campground borders public land in the Sheyenne National Grasslands, with marked trails and Sheyenne River access for hiking, biking, horseback riding, bird watching, paddling, hunting, and fishing. Inside the metro, families use Governors' RV Park in Casselton for downtime, and Hillsboro Campground and RV Park works well as a stop for travelers moving north toward Grand Forks.

Sites near Reile's Acres range from full-hookup interstate parks to state-park loops with electric-only service. Buffalo River State Park has 44 total sites with 35 electric, a maximum RV length of 50 feet, and amenities including water, 50-amp service, restrooms, showers, and a dump station. The fresh water fill and dump station are located at the campground exit. Hillsboro and Governors' RV Park offer full hookups useful for larger rigs on I-29 and I-94 layovers. Cell coverage is strong across the Fargo metro and along the interstates, but thins in the Sheyenne Grasslands. Pack layers even in summer, since nights on the prairie cool quickly, and mosquitoes are heaviest near rivers after rainfall. Leashed pets are welcome at most parks in the area.
