Campgrounds and RV parks near Clarion, PA

Clarion sits in northwestern Pennsylvania along Interstate 80, about halfway between Pittsburgh and the New York border. The borough serves as a convenient jumping-off point for RV travelers heading into the Allegheny Plateau, with the Clarion River, Cook Forest State Park, and Clear Creek State Park all within a short drive. The surrounding Clarion County landscape is dominated by hardwood forest, winding river valleys, and rural farmland, which makes the area a strong shoulder-season destination for autumn foliage. Private RV parks cluster near the I-80 exits and along the roads leading north toward Cook Forest. Rustic Acres RV Resort & Campground and Wolfs Camping Resort are close to the interstate, while Kalyumet Campground, Penn Wood Airstream Park, and Quiet Acres Camping give travelers options further from the highway. Full-hookup sites, pull-throughs, and seasonal sites are widely available. State-park camping at nearby Cook Forest rounds out the choices for visitors who prefer public land.

For Cook Forest State Park, the closest public campground to Clarion, reservations are handled through the Pennsylvania State Parks system on ReserveAmerica or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. Sites can be booked from two days up to 11 months in advance, and the campground operates from mid-April to mid-October. Note that Cook Forest's campground is scheduled to close for the 2027 season for a shower house upgrade, so confirm availability before planning a trip in that window. Private parks including Rustic Acres RV Resort & Campground, Kalyumet Campground, Wolfs Camping Resort, Penn Wood Airstream Park, and Quiet Acres Camping take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends and the October foliage stretch fill first, so book those dates as early as possible.
