Campgrounds and RV parks near Hope Valley, RI

Hope Valley is a village in the town of Hopkinton in southwestern Rhode Island, positioned between Interstate 95 and the state's largest block of public forest. It sits inside the Wood-Pawcatuck watershed and puts RV travelers within a short drive of the Arcadia Management Area, Pachaug State Forest across the Connecticut line, and the South County beaches at Misquamicut and Charlestown. Private campgrounds cluster along Route 3 and the Ashaway corridor. Whispering Pines Campground on Sawmill Road offers 212 wooded sites with water and electric, full-hookup, and pull-thru options up to 40 feet, 50 amp service, cabins, a pool, and a camp store. Ashaway RV Resort in Bradford has about 260 big-rig friendly sites up to 60 feet, with 220 full hookups and 30/50 amp service. Frontier Family Camper Park sits just off I-95 exit 1, and Oak Embers Campground is farther north near the Arcadia Management Area in West Greenwich. For state-forest camping, Green Falls Campground in Connecticut's Pachaug State Forest has 18 wooded, rustic sites without showers or RV hookups, making it a tent-and-small-rig option rather than a full-service RV base.

Private campgrounds handle their own reservations. Whispering Pines, Ashaway RV Resort, Oak Embers, and Frontier Family Camper Park each take bookings directly by phone or through their websites, and some list availability on aggregator platforms. Deposits and cancellation windows vary, so confirm the policy at the time of booking. Whispering Pines, for example, requires a deposit and allows cancellation with a small service fee up to 14 days before arrival. Green Falls Campground in Pachaug State Forest requires reservations through Reserve America, and walk-ins are not permitted. Connecticut charges a cancellation fee, and cancelling two to seven days before arrival adds a one-night use charge. For summer weekends, aim to reserve six to eight weeks in advance at private resorts and as early as the reservation window opens for state-forest sites. Big rigs should ask about site length and turning radius, since older parks in this corridor have some tight interior roads.
