Campgrounds and RV parks near Point Venture, TX

Point Venture is a small village on a peninsula on the north shore of Lake Travis in western Travis County, about eighteen miles northwest of Austin in the Texas Hill Country. The community sits between Lago Vista and Jonestown, giving RV travelers quick access to the lake, marinas, and Hill Country day trips. Lake Travis is the reservoir that shapes the trip. It is a large reservoir on the Colorado River operated by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) for flood storage, water supply, hydroelectric power, and recreation, and it is the primary flood-control lake in the Highland Lakes chain. Because it functions as a flood-control reservoir, water levels can rise and fall significantly, which affects boat ramp elevations and shoreline camping. RV options close to the village include Hill Country Lakes RV Campground, Camper Resort on Lake Travis, Lake Travis Inn and RV Park, Sun Outdoors Lake Travis, and Hudson Bend RV Park Inc. These sit within short drives of Point Venture, Lago Vista, Jonestown, and the Hudson Bend area, spreading access around both the north and south shores.
