Camping near Woodcreek, Texas
Woodcreek sits in the Texas Hill Country in Hays County, next to Wimberley and roughly an hour southwest of Austin. The town is a small residential community surrounded by cedar and oak hills, spring-fed creeks, and a cluster of RV parks and cabin resorts that serve travelers using Wimberley as a base for swimming holes, wineries, and state parks.
RV travelers typically stay at private parks along Ranch Road 12 and the roads feeding into Wimberley proper. Horseshoe Ridge RV Resort and Priddy Meadow RV Park sit close to Woodcreek itself, while Black Canyon Wimberley RV Park and Cabins, Lake Pointe RV and Condo Resort, and Green Acres Cottages fall within a short drive and offer mixes of RV pads and cabins with access to Cypress Creek and the Blanco River.
The area works well for families, small groups, and travelers wanting a quieter base than the Guadalupe River corridor around New Braunfels.
Things to do around Woodcreek
Blue Hole Regional Park and Jacob's Well Natural Area are the two anchor swim spots. Both sit within a few miles of Woodcreek, both require paid timed-entry reservations for swimming in summer, and both fill weeks ahead on weekends. Cypress Creek at Blue Hole is shaded and family friendly; Jacob's Well is a deep artesian spring popular with strong swimmers and divers.
Beyond the water, the Wimberley Square has galleries, the Wimberley Glass Works, and restaurants. Wimberley Market Days runs the first Saturday of the month from April through December at Lions Field, drawing hundreds of vendors.
Day trips reach Pedernales Falls State Park, Blanco State Park, and multiple Hill Country wineries and distilleries along US 290.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows around Woodcreek. From March through May, daytime highs run comfortable, wildflowers bloom along the roadsides, and rivers run full. May is the wettest month and can bring severe thunderstorms and flash flooding; the Pedernales and Blanco rivers are known for fast rises, so campers should watch forecasts and low-water crossings.
Summer is hot and humid, with highs regularly in the mid-90s Fahrenheit and heat indexes higher. This is the peak booking period because school is out and the swimming holes are the main draw. Jacob's Well and Blue Hole reservations open in advance and sell out fast, and private RV parks around Wimberley run full on weekends. Burn bans are common across Hays County.
Fall cools off through October and November, crowds thin, and campsites become easier to secure. Winter is mild but variable, with occasional hard freezes; most private parks stay open year-round, though some seasonal cabins and pool amenities close.

RV was great! We had a wonderful time renting it for a weekend at COTA. Jesse was very responsive and helpful anytime we needed it.

Jesse is great! This is my second time renting a camper from him and he has been very easy to work with. We were camping locally and he even stopped by to check on us the day after our departure and brought us an outdoor rug just in case we got some rain! I highly recommend him and we will certainly be using him again in the future!

How to book campgrounds near Woodcreek
Private RV parks in the Woodcreek and Wimberley area take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and many list availability on aggregator platforms. For summer weekends, holiday weekends, and Wimberley Market Days weekends, book two to three months out. Priddy Meadow RV Park, Horseshoe Ridge RV Resort, Black Canyon Wimberley RV Park and Cabins, Green Acres Cottages, and Lake Pointe RV and Condo Resort each set their own cancellation and deposit policies, so confirm at the time of booking.
For nearby state parks, use the Texas Parks and Wildlife reservation system at texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com. Campsites at Pedernales Falls and Blanco open up to five months in advance on a rolling daily basis at 8 a.m. Central, and popular weekend sites often sell out within hours. Day-use passes are a separate booking and open one month ahead.
What to expect on-site
Most RV parks around Woodcreek offer full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, water, sewer, and Wi-Fi of varying quality. Sites tend to be gravel or crushed limestone with mature shade trees from live oaks and cedar elm. Cell coverage is generally reliable in Woodcreek and Wimberley but drops quickly in the surrounding canyons.
Roads into Wimberley from Ranch Road 12 and Farm-to-Market 2325 are paved but narrow and winding in spots, with occasional low-water crossings that flood after heavy rain. Larger Class A rigs and long fifth wheels should confirm site length and turning radius with the park before arrival.
Expect a small-town pace: grocery runs happen in Wimberley or Dripping Springs, most attractions are within a fifteen-minute drive, and evenings are dark and quiet, with good stargazing away from town.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Woodcreek%2C%20TexasDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Woodcreek, TX?
A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Woodcreek. Texas does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any RV-specific endorsement for personal motorhomes or trailers under 26,000 pounds gross weight, which covers virtually every rig on RVezy. To qualify as an approved driver on RVezy, you generally need to be at least 25 years old, and your ID is verified right inside the booking platform, so there are no extra DMV trips. Visiting from abroad? A valid foreign driver's license, ideally paired with an International Driving Permit, is accepted. Most first-time renters are cleared quickly and ready to hit Ranch Road 12 for their Hill Country adventure.

help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Woodcreek?
Yes, bringing your pup is part of the fun, and there are plenty of pet-friendly RV rental options in Woodcreek. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when searching RVezy listings to see only hosts who welcome four-legged co-pilots. Once you arrive, your dog will love sniffing the trails at Jacob's Well Natural Area (leashed) and exploring the dog-friendly stretches along Cypress Creek. Blue Hole Regional Park allows leashed dogs in most areas outside the swimming hole, and Blanco State Park, about 25 minutes away, welcomes leashed pets on trails and at campsites. Pro tip: pack a cooling mat and plenty of water for hot Texas afternoons.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/blancoCan the RV be delivered to my campground or rental in Woodcreek?
Yes, RV delivery in Woodcreek is one of the smartest moves for first-timers and groups who would rather skip the driving. Many RVezy hosts in the Wimberley and Woodcreek area will deliver, level, and fully set up your motorhome at the campground of your choice, then walk you through every system from the AC to the awning. Popular delivery spots include Pedernales Falls State Park, Blanco State Park, and Canyon Lake area parks. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to instantly see hosts who offer this service, and message them with your campsite number. Delivery fees usually scale with distance, so booking a nearby host helps keep the cost down.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Woodcreek%2C%20TexasHow does mileage work, and can I find an RV rental with unlimited mileage?
Mileage is straightforward on RVezy, and yes, you can find an RV rental with unlimited mileage in the Woodcreek area. Each host sets their own daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 free miles per day), with extra miles billed at a small per-mile rate that is shown on the listing before you book. Planning shorter trips around Wimberley, Dripping Springs, and Canyon Lake? The included miles are usually more than enough. Headed farther, like a Big Bend run or a swing through Fredericksburg wine country? Filter for unlimited-mileage listings or message the host to bundle extra miles upfront, which is almost always cheaper than paying after the fact.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Woodcreek%2C%20TexasWhere are the best campgrounds near Woodcreek, TX for my RV?
You are in one of the best campground clusters in Texas. Top picks near Woodcreek include Blanco State Park (about 25 minutes south) with riverfront sites and full hookups along the spring-fed Blanco River, Pedernales Falls State Park (about 30 miles northwest) for dramatic waterfall views, and Guadalupe River State Park (around 45 miles southwest) for tubing and shaded sites. For a family-friendly vibe, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hill Country in nearby Canyon Lake is a hit with kids. Book state park sites through Texas Parks and Wildlife up to five months ahead, as Hill Country weekends fill fast.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/reservationsWhen is the best time to visit Woodcreek, TX in an RV?
The sweet spot for a Woodcreek RV trip is mid-March through May and again from late September through November, when daytime temps sit in the comfortable 70 to 85F range and the Hill Country is at its prettiest. Spring brings the famous Texas bluebonnets carpeting roadsides along RR 12 and the Devil's Backbone, while fall delivers crisp mornings and lower humidity. Summer (June to August) routinely hits 95 to 100F, so look for an RV with strong air conditioning and shaded campsites. Winters are mild, mostly 40 to 65F, making December and January a low-key, low-cost season for RV camping in Woodcreek. Insider tip: time your visit around Wimberley Market Days (first Saturday, April to December) for the full local flavor.
weather.gov/ewx/I'm first time renting an RV. Will I actually know what I'm doing?
Yes, and you are going to love how easy this is. Every RVezy host gives you a full hands-on walkthrough at pickup (or at delivery), showing you how to start the generator, hook up water and power, dump tanks, deploy the awning, and operate the AC and slide-outs. Hosts also share their phone number for the entire trip, so a quick text answers any question that comes up at the campsite. Add in 24/7 RVezy roadside assistance and clear in-app messaging, and first-time renters in Woodcreek are usually amazed at how confident they feel by the end of day one.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002551593-Renting-an-RVWhat if something goes wrong on the road during my Hill Country trip?
Take a breath, you are covered. Every RV rental in Woodcreek booked through RVezy comes with 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on US-281, a dead battery at a Canyon Lake overlook, or a lockout at Pedernales Falls State Park is just one phone call away from help. RVezy support is also available before, during, and after your trip for anything that is not mechanical. For backup, save your host's number too, as they know their rig best and can often troubleshoot small issues over the phone in minutes. A seasoned Hill Country tip: keep a paper map handy, since cell service can drop in canyons west of Wimberley.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from Woodcreek, TX?
Woodcreek is the perfect launchpad for a Hill Country RV road trip. From here, you can roll into Fredericksburg wine country in about 50 miles for tastings along US-290, hit Enchanted Rock State Natural Area near Fredericksburg at roughly 75 miles, or cruise to Austin in about 45 miles for live music and food trucks. San Antonio and the River Walk sit about 60 miles south, and New Braunfels with Guadalupe River tubing is just 25 miles away. Cross-border travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there, so keep your loop within the US. For a multi-stop bucket-list run, head west toward Big Bend National Park (about 400 miles) over four or five nights.
traveltexas.com/places-to-go/regions/hill-countryWhat should I budget for fuel on a Woodcreek RV trip?
Texas typically has some of the lower fuel prices in the country, which helps keep a Woodcreek RV trip budget-friendly. Check current prices before your trip, with the cheapest pumps in the area usually at Buc-ee's in New Braunfels or San Marcos. Fuel economy varies by rig: campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 MPG, larger Class A coaches run 6 to 10 MPG, and travel trailer fuel use depends on your tow vehicle. For a typical 200-mile Hill Country loop, plan on roughly $70 to $130 in fuel depending on current prices and your RV. Pro tip: fill up before heading west of Johnson City, where stations thin out fast.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Woodcreek?
For Texas state parks like Blanco, Pedernales Falls, and Guadalupe River, book through the Texas Parks and Wildlife reservation system up to five months in advance, especially for spring weekends, bluebonnet season (March to April), and any holiday. Private RV parks around Wimberley such as Shady Oaks RV Resort, Priddy Meadow, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hill Country in Canyon Lake usually need 2 to 6 weeks of lead time in peak season, less mid-week. Sunday through Thursday nights are noticeably easier to grab. Insider tip: if a state park is fully booked, check back at 8 a.m. exactly 48 hours before your arrival, when cancellations are released back into the system on the TPWD site.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/reservationsWhat are driving conditions like around Woodcreek and the Hill Country?
Driving an RV around Woodcreek is genuinely pleasant once you know the lay of the land. RR 12, FM 2325, and the Devil's Backbone (RR 32) are scenic two-lane roads with rolling hills, gentle curves, and a few steep grades, so take them slow and use lower gears on descents. Low-water crossings on roads like FM 165 and CR 1492 can flood quickly during Hill Country thunderstorms, so always check Hays County alerts before heading out. Avoid downtown Wimberley Square on Market Days Saturdays (parking is tight) and stick to US-281 or I-35 for longer hauls. Summer afternoon storms can be intense but brief, so it is often safest to pull over and wait them out.
drivetexas.org/What amenities should I expect at Woodcreek-area campgrounds?
Hill Country campgrounds make RV camping in Woodcreek easy and comfortable. Most private parks like Shady Oaks RV Resort, Priddy Meadow RV Park, and Rio Guadalupe Resort offer full hookups (30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, and hot showers. Texas state parks such as Blanco and Pedernales Falls typically offer water and 30/50-amp electric, with a central dump station for emptying tanks. You can fill fresh water at every state park entrance and at most private parks. For dump stations on the road, the Buc-ee's-adjacent travel centers and several Wimberley-area RV parks offer paid dump access. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot sewer hose and a water pressure regulator, as some older Hill Country sites have quirky hookup placement.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/things-to-do/campingWhat's inside a typical RV rental in Woodcreek?
You will be surprised how loaded these rigs are. A typical motorhome rental in Woodcreek includes a queen or king bed, plus convertible dinette or bunk beds (most sleep 4 to 8), a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, plus a bathroom with toilet and shower. Air conditioning and a furnace are standard, essential for Texas summers and chilly January nights. Many rigs include a generator or solar setup for off-grid stays, a TV, Bluetooth speakers, and outdoor chairs. Seatbelted travel seating is clearly labeled by each host, so confirm passenger capacity when booking. Wi-Fi hotspots are a common add-on if you want to stream from your campsite at Jacob's Well or Canyon Lake.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Woodcreek%2C%20TexasWhat add-ons and pickup options can I expect with an RVezy listing?
RVezy hosts in Woodcreek offer a great mix of add-ons to customize your trip. Common extras include camping chairs and tables, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, generators, propane refills, bike racks, kayaks for Cypress Creek floats, Wi-Fi hotspots, and pet fees for furry travelers. Many hosts also offer delivery to popular spots like Blanco State Park or your Woodcreek vacation rental. Pickup is usually at the host's home with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough, and Instant Book listings let you confirm immediately without waiting for host approval. Mileage policies are spelled out on each listing, so there are no surprises. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a generator if you are heading to a no-hookup site at Pedernales Falls.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Woodcreek%2C%20TexasHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Woodcreek, you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card. Never pay a host directly off-platform, as that voids your protection. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (amount varies by RV and host) and released back to your card after the trip, assuming the rig is returned in the same condition with no damages or extra cleaning. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos and a short video of the interior, exterior, and fuel level at both pickup and drop-off, and follow the host's instructions for waste tanks and refueling.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I drive my Woodcreek RV rental across state lines or into Mexico?
You have plenty of room to roam. Most RVezy hosts in Woodcreek allow interstate travel across the US, so a road trip to Louisiana bayous, New Mexico's Carlsbad Caverns, or Colorado's Rockies is on the table, just message the host before booking to confirm and discuss mileage. Cross-border travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there, so plan your itinerary to stay within the US. Travel into Canada may be possible with some hosts, but again, message first. From Woodcreek, popular legal routes include Big Bend National Park (about 400 miles west) and the Gulf Coast at Port Aransas (around 230 miles southeast).
