Campgrounds and RV parks near East Basin, UT

East Basin sits in Utah's Wasatch back country in Summit County, roughly a 45-minute drive east of Salt Lake City and about 25 minutes from Park City. The area is defined by two reservoir-based state parks that anchor most RV camping options: Rockport State Park along the Weber River and Jordanelle State Park on the 1,360-acre Jordanelle Reservoir. Both parks sit above 6,000 feet in elevation, which shapes both the recreation calendar and overnight temperatures even in midsummer. RV travelers have a range of choices within a short drive. Twin Coves and Juniper at Rockport State Park offer reservoir-side sites, with Juniper providing the most developed hookups. At Jordanelle, Hailstone is the main RV campground with partial hookups, while Mchenry Creek Campground is a more primitive loop for tents and smaller setups. For travelers who want full hookups and resort amenities close to town, Park City RV Resort offers terraced full-hookup pads within Park City limits, with a heated pool and hot tub on site.

Sites at Rockport State Park and Jordanelle State Park are reserved through the Utah State Parks reservation system, either online or by calling the reservation center. Individual sites open on a four-month rolling basis, and popular weekends at Hailstone, Juniper, and Twin Coves book out quickly. Group sites at Jordanelle open further ahead. Holders of an Annual Utah State Park Pass can use it for day-use entry, but overnight camping fees are separate. Cancellation and change policies are handled through the state parks system, so RV travelers should review dates carefully before confirming. Park City RV Resort books directly through Roberts Resorts. It has age and type restrictions on RVs allowed in resort sites, so travelers should confirm eligibility before reserving.
