Campgrounds and RV parks near Fennimore, WI

Fennimore sits in Grant County in southwest Wisconsin's Driftless Area, a region of unglaciated ridges, deep river valleys, and limestone bluffs. The landscape feels distinct from the rest of the Midwest, shaped by streams that carved the plateau rather than glaciers that flattened it. The Mississippi and Wisconsin rivers meet roughly 25 miles southwest at Wyalusing State Park, and the Kickapoo and Lower Wisconsin riverways run to the north and east. That geography shapes the camping options: state park bluff sites, small private RV parks, and rustic backcountry spots. RV travelers typically choose from a short list of nearby private grounds. Eagle Cave Resort LLC in Blue River is built around Wisconsin's largest onyx cave and offers a mix of primitive sites, water and electric sites, and seasonal sites. Whitetail Bluff Campground, Kickapoo Stump Dodger Campground, Rustic Barn Campground & RV Park, and Rustic Barn RV Campground round out the closest private options, each within an easy drive of town. Primitive tent sites, family campgrounds, and privately owned RV parks are all represented across Grant County and the surrounding Driftless region.

For Wisconsin State Park System properties such as Wyalusing and Governor Dodge, reservations are handled through the state's online system or by phone. Camping reservations are required and can be made up to 11 months in advance of the planned date of occupancy, and campers must make a reservation before setting up on any site. Reservations can be made online through wisconsin.goingtocamp.com or by calling 1-888-947-2757. Any motor vehicle brought into a state park property requires a vehicle admission pass. A 12-month pass covers admission to all state parks and forests for a year from purchase, while a camper without the annual pass needs a daily pass for each night of camping. Private grounds including Eagle Cave Resort LLC, Whitetail Bluff Campground, Kickapoo Stump Dodger Campground, Rustic Barn Campground & RV Park, and Rustic Barn RV Campground take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites.
