2016 Travel Trailer
Having just departed from a weekend in Elisha and Toms trailer, our family of four had a great experience. Elisha was easy to communicate with and quick in responses. The trailer had plenty of sleeping space and was well equipped for anything we might have needed. The trailer was delivered and picked up when we required. The trailer is "well loved" so don't expect it to be in brand new condition. But it was perfect for our needs and we will rent again.

Lisa and Manny are wonderful hosts, explain everything in detail. Trailer tows beautifully. I had no issues with the trailer at all. I would suggest bringing a mattress topper because the Murphy bed mattress is not as thick as a regular mattress.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Napanee, ON
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Napanee?
RV rental in Napanee is one of the most affordable ways to experience Eastern Ontario and the Bay of Quinte region. On RVezy, motorhome rental in Napanee averages around $200 per night, while travel trailers typically start near $120 per night, and many hosts offer discounts on weekly and monthly bookings. You can filter by price, RV type, and sleeps count to find a cheap RV rental in Napanee that fits your group. Pro tip: shoulder-season trips in late May or September often unlock the best rates and quieter campgrounds, while still giving you warm enough weather to enjoy Sandbanks beaches.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Napanee,OntarioWhat kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Napanee?
Great news: for nearly every RV you can rent in Napanee, your regular full Class G Ontario driver's license is all you need. Under Ontario's Ministry of Transportation rules, a full Class G covers motorhomes and trailers up to 11,000 kg combined gross weight, which includes the vast majority of Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels listed on RVezy. Visiting from out of province or abroad? A valid driver's license from your home jurisdiction works for short visits. All RVezy guests must be 25 or older, and you'll confirm your ID through the platform during booking. That's it. You're cleared to plan your Napanee RV trip.
ontario.ca/page/driving-recreational-vehicle-rvWhat protection is included when I rent an RV through RVezy in Napanee?
Every RV rental in Napanee booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into your trip, so you can drive off feeling covered. During checkout you choose your protection level, which provides financial peace of mind for most damages to the vehicle while it is in your care. Roadside assistance is included with every protection plan, so help is one call away if something unexpected happens on the road to Sandbanks or the 1000 Islands. Pro tip: if you are a first-time renter, selecting a higher tier of protection is a small added cost that lets you focus on the trip instead of the what-ifs.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Napanee RV rental?
You can book your Napanee RV trip with confidence because RVezy, not the host, sets the cancellation policy across every listing. There is a money-back grace period right after booking, and refunds beyond that depend on how far out you are from your trip start date. Special circumstances like natural disasters or extreme weather, which can occur with Ontario winter snow squalls or summer storms off Lake Ontario, may also apply. The full details are available on the RVezy website during checkout. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best rigs for summer at Sandbanks Provincial Park, then relax knowing flexibility is built in if plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Napanee?
Absolutely, plenty of pet-friendly RV rental options in Napanee welcome dogs and cats. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see hosts who openly invite four-legged co-pilots, along with any pet fees they have set. Once you are on the road, Napanee is a fantastic base for dogs: leashed pets are allowed on most trails and on designated pet beach areas at Sandbanks Provincial Park, and the Napanee River walking trails downtown are an easy stretch-the-legs stop. Pro tip: message the host before booking to flag your pet's breed and size so pickup goes smoothly, and pack a towel for sandy paws after a Lake Ontario swim.
ontarioparks.ca/parks/sandbanksCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Napanee?
Yes, RV delivery in Napanee is one of the best perks on RVezy, especially if it's your first time renting. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to your campsite at Sun Retreats Hay Bay, Sandbanks Provincial Park, or the 1000 Islands / Kingston KOA, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Use the Delivery filter when searching to see hosts who offer this, along with their per-kilometre delivery fee. Pro tip: delivery is gold for travel trailers and fifth wheels because you skip the towing learning curve entirely and just enjoy your campsite when you arrive.
ontarioparks.ca/park/sandbanksCan I find an RV rental with unlimited mileage in Napanee?
Yes, several Napanee hosts offer unlimited or generous mileage packages, which is ideal if you're planning a longer Ontario RV trip. Most listings include a daily kilometre allowance (often 200 km per day) with a small per-kilometre fee beyond that, and many hosts offer unlimited-mileage add-ons at checkout. From Napanee, popular drives include Sandbanks Provincial Park (about 45 km west), Kingston and Fort Henry (about 40 km east), the 1000 Islands Parkway near Gananoque (about 80 km east), Prince Edward County wineries (35 to 60 km), and Ottawa (about 220 km northeast). Pro tip: estimate your route before booking and message the host to negotiate an unlimited-kilometre upgrade for road-trip-heavy itineraries.
ontario.ca/page/road-trips-ontarioWhere are the best campgrounds near Napanee for RV camping?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Napanee. A few favourites: Sun Retreats Hay Bay on South Shore Road offers 240 sites with electric hookups, a marina and pool just 10 km from town; Pickerel Park Campgrounds sits right in Napanee with easy river access; the United Empire Loyalist Heritage Centre and Park in Bath has 110 sites along Lake Ontario about 17 km east; Sandbanks Provincial Park (45 km west) has over 500 sites with three sanitation stations and three water-fill stations; and the 1000 Islands / Kingston KOA Holiday (about 32 km east) is great for families. Pro tip: provincial park sites open for reservation five months in advance at 7 a.m. EST, and Sandbanks waterfront sites disappear within minutes.
ontarioparks.ca/reservationsWhen is the best time to take a Napanee RV trip?
The sweet spot for an RV road trip from Napanee is mid-May through early October, with July as the warmest and sunniest month (average highs around 25 to 27 C). June and September are the local insider favourites: warm enough to swim at Sandbanks, far fewer crowds, and lower nightly rates on RVezy. Winter is cold, with January daytime highs near -3 C and overnight lows around -11 C, so most Napanee campgrounds close from late October through April. Pro tip: plan a Prince Edward County wine-tour RV trip for the third week of September, when harvest festivals are in full swing and the maple foliage along Highway 33 begins to turn.
climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/I've never rented an RV before. Will I actually know what I'm doing?
Yes, and most first-time renters are surprised how supported they feel. Every RVezy booking includes a hands-on orientation at pickup where your host walks you through driving the rig, the propane and water systems, the awning, the slide-outs, and how to dump tanks at Napanee-area sanitation stations like the three at Sandbanks. Hosts share their phone number, RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every booking. Pro tip: pick a Class B campervan or small Class C for your first time renting an RV. They drive much like a large van and park easily at Napanee's smaller campgrounds and downtown lots.
ontario.ca/page/driving-recreational-vehicle-rvWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my Napanee trip?
Take a deep breath because you are covered. Every RV rental in Napanee booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you are parked at Hay Bay or driving Highway 401 between Napanee and Kingston. You can also message your host directly for quick troubleshooting, since they know their rig better than anyone. RVezy's support team is available to help coordinate repairs or alternate solutions if needed. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number in your phone before you leave the host's driveway, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN sticker so it is handy if you ever need to make a call.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Napanee RV rental on a cross-border road trip to the United States?
Often yes, but it depends on the host. Many Napanee hosts allow US travel since you are only about 40 km from the Thousand Islands Bridge crossing at Lansdowne into New York State, opening up routes to the Adirondacks, Watertown, or further afield. Message the host directly from the listing before booking to confirm cross-border permission and to request a written travel letter, which border services may ask to see. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance limits. Pro tip: popular cross-border RV road trips from Napanee include the 1000 Islands loop, Lake Placid (about 4 hours), and Niagara Falls via the Queen Elizabeth Way (about 3.5 hours).
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel economy should I budget for on a Napanee RV trip?
Budgeting for fuel is easier than you'd think. Class B campervans in the Napanee area average 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 MPG, and large Class A motorhomes typically run 7 to 10 MPG. Most travel trailers don't change your tow vehicle's MPG dramatically beyond a 20 to 30 percent hit. Ontario gas prices in the Napanee corridor along Highway 401 hover around $1.55 to $1.75 per litre, and you'll find competitive pumps at the Pioneer and Petro-Canada stations near the Centre Street exit. Pro tip: fuel up before leaving Napanee for Sandbanks or Prince Edward County, where rural prices climb 5 to 10 cents per litre.
ontario.ca/page/fuel-pricesHow far in advance do I need to book a campground near Napanee?
For Ontario Parks like Sandbanks and nearby Bon Echo, reservations open exactly five months in advance at 7 a.m. EST on the Ontario Parks reservation system, and waterfront sites at Sandbanks Outlet River A often sell out within minutes for July and August weekends. Private parks like Sun Retreats Hay Bay and 1000 Islands / Kingston KOA usually take bookings 6 to 12 months out, with more flexibility on weekdays. For a summer Napanee RV trip, aim to book your campground first, then your RV. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday through Thursday) are dramatically easier to score and often 15 to 25 percent cheaper at private parks across Eastern Ontario.
ontarioparks.ca/reservationsWhat are local driving conditions like around Napanee?
Driving around Napanee is refreshingly easy, especially compared to Toronto or Ottawa. Highway 401, the main artery through town, is flat, four to six lanes wide, and well-maintained, making it comfortable for first-time motorhome drivers heading east to Kingston or west to Trenton. County Road 41 north into Bon Echo country is more rolling with some tighter curves. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk along the rural concessions, and be aware of summer construction season from May through October. Winter brings heavy lake-effect snow squalls off Lake Ontario. Pro tip: avoid the 401 between Belleville and Kingston on Friday afternoons in summer when cottage traffic peaks, and stick to County Road 2 for a scenic, slower alternative.
511on.ca/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Napanee, and where do I dump and fill water?
Campgrounds near Napanee are well-equipped for RVs. Sun Retreats Hay Bay and the 1000 Islands / Kingston KOA both offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, pools, laundry, and camp stores. Sandbanks Provincial Park has three sanitation (dump) stations and three separate water-fill stations spread between the West Lake, Cedars, and Woodlands campgrounds, so you rarely wait in line. Most provincial park sites offer electric only, no sewer hookups, so you'll dump on the way out. Pro tip: download the Sani Dump Stations or RVDumpsites apps before your Napanee RV trip; there's also a public dump station at the Petro-Canada in Odessa, just 15 km east on Highway 401.
ontarioparks.ca/camping/campgroundamenitiesWhat equipment and amenities come inside the RV I rent in Napanee?
You'll be impressed by how turnkey RVezy rentals are. Most Napanee-area motorhome and campervan rentals come fully equipped: real beds with linens (often a queen plus convertible dinette), a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, sink, cookware and dishes, a bathroom with shower and toilet, heating and air conditioning, awning, outdoor chairs, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, and either a generator or solar setup; some hosts offer portable Wi-Fi hotspots as add-ons. Pro tip: check each listing's amenity list carefully and message the host if you need something specific like a portable BBQ, kayaks, or a baby car seat, since most Napanee hosts will happily include add-ons for a small fee.
ontario.ca/page/camping-ontarioWhat add-ons and pickup options should I expect when I rent an RV in Napanee?
Napanee hosts on RVezy offer a great range of add-ons to customize your trip. Common options include delivery and setup (typically $2 to $4 per kilometre from the host's location), generator use, propane refill, bedding and towel packages, camp chairs, BBQs, kayaks or stand-up paddleboards, bike racks, and pet cleaning fees. Most pickups happen at the host's home in or around Napanee, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Mileage policies vary, with daily allowances of 150 to 250 km common and unlimited kilometre upgrades available. Pro tip: bundle delivery with a campground stay at Hay Bay or Sandbanks; you'll skip the driving stress entirely and your RV will be set up and cool when you arrive.
ontario.ca/page/camping-ontarioHow does payment and the security deposit work for my Napanee RV rental?
Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Napanee through RVezy, you pay the full trip cost (rental, protection, taxes, and any add-ons) by credit card through the platform, never directly to the host. A refundable security deposit is also placed on your card a few days before pickup; the amount is separate from the booking payment, varies by RV value, and is released back to you a few days after a smooth return. Pro tip: do a thorough video walkaround of the RV with your host at both pickup and drop-off, noting any existing scratches or interior wear. This five-minute habit is the single best way to ensure your full security deposit comes back without any back-and-forth.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Napanee for a winter trip?
Yes, winter RV rentals in Napanee are possible and a unique way to experience Eastern Ontario's snowy charm. A small number of hosts offer four-season rigs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and proper insulation, suitable for ice-fishing trips on the Bay of Quinte or weekend getaways for winter hiking. You will want a campground with shore power hookups, since January temperatures average around -6 C and can dip below -20 C overnight. Pro tip: message hosts directly to ask about winter availability and request a propane top-off before pickup. A full tank typically lasts 3 to 5 days of heated winter camping.
