2016 Winnebago Class B
Grace is an excellent host. The vehicle is in excellent condition, very well equipped and has all of the amenities described in the listing. It was my first RV/camper van experience and Grace gave me a great tutorial on how to operate all the gear and tanks, etc. Her Winnebago was ideal for our long weekend outdoor adventure!

Lucknow's Music in the Fields
Picture late August in small-town Ontario, stages under open sky, and a crowd that feels like a reunion. Lucknow's Music in the Fields brings big-festival energy to Graceland Festival Grounds with a community-first vibe rooted in charity. An RV gives your crew a private base after the last encore: space to unwind, cook, and sleep without hotel runs. Roll into Bruce County with everything on board and focus on the music and the cause.
TransCan Grand National Championship
Feel the pulse of Canada's premier outdoor motocross championship as pros and amateurs launch off Walton Raceway's rolling hills. Mid-August brings multi-day racing, festival energy, and a countryside setting between ponds and forest where engines and crowd noise carry across Huron County. An RV turns the long race days into a relaxed base: cook breakfast at your site, nap between motos, and stay immersed in the TransCan atmosphere without hotel shuffle.
Blyth Festival
Picture rolling into Huron County with your own kitchen, bed, and porch steps from farm fields, then walking into Memorial Hall for world-class Canadian plays. The Blyth Festival turns a small village stage into a national storytelling ritual, and an RV lets you slow down, stay close, and make a theatre trip feel like a real countryside escape without sacrificing comfort.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Saugeen Shores, ON
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Saugeen Shores, ON?
Good news: an RV rental in Saugeen Shores can fit nearly any budget, especially compared to a beachfront hotel during Lake Huron sunset season. On RVezy, towable travel trailers near Saugeen Shores average around $120 per night, while motorhomes run closer to $200 per night, with most hosts offering 10 to 20 percent off weekly and monthly stays. You will also want to budget roughly $40 to $70 per night for serviced campsites at places like MacGregor Point Provincial Park. Pro tip: for a cheap RV rental in Saugeen Shores, book a Sunday to Thursday stretch in June or September. Beaches are still warm, traffic on Highway 21 is light, and host pricing typically drops outside the July to August peak.
destinationontario.com/en-ca/articles/rving-ontario-for-beginnersWhat kind of driver's licence do I need to rent an RV in Saugeen Shores?
Great news for first-timers: a standard full Class G Ontario driver's licence is all you need to rent an RV in Saugeen Shores for the vast majority of listings on RVezy. Ontario allows Class G holders to drive any motorhome up to 11,000 kilograms and tow a trailer up to 4,600 kilograms, which covers nearly every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and fifth wheel on the platform. You must be at least 25 years old to book through RVezy, and your ID is confirmed securely in the app. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home licence plus an International Driving Permit if your licence is not in English or French, and you are road-ready for your Saugeen Shores RV trip.
ontario.ca/page/driving-recreational-vehicle-rvIs RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included for my Saugeen Shores trip?
Yes, every RV rental in Saugeen Shores booked on RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 21 with real peace of mind. You choose your protection level during checkout (not the host), and it covers most damage to the RV during your trip. Roadside help covers flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing, whether you are parked at MacGregor Point Provincial Park or watching the sunset off Port Elgin Main Beach. Pick the coverage that fits your comfort level at booking and you are set for a confident Saugeen Shores RV trip.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat if my Saugeen Shores plans change? Can I cancel my RV rental?
Booking an RV rental in Saugeen Shores on RVezy is low-risk because cancellation terms are standardized across the platform rather than set by individual hosts. There is a grace period right after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and refund amounts after that depend on how close you are to your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or helps you rebook. Review the current cancellation policy in the RVezy Help Center before booking so you know exactly what to expect, then lock in your dates with confidence.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Saugeen Shores?
Yes, plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental in Saugeen Shores, and the area is genuinely dog-friendly. Just use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see listings where your pup is welcome, and message the host if you have a larger breed or multiple pets. Once you arrive, head to Saugeen Shores' off-leash dog park, or walk the leashed-dog-friendly Saugeen Rail Trail between Port Elgin and Southampton. MacGregor Point Provincial Park also welcomes leashed pets on most trails and at designated pet-friendly campsites. Pro tip: bring a long lead so your dog can splash at Gobles Grove Beach, where shallow water makes a perfect cool-down spot.
ontarioparks.ca/park/macgregorpointCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Saugeen Shores?
Yes, RV delivery in Saugeen Shores is one of the easiest ways to skip the stress of driving a big rig your first time. Many RVezy hosts will deliver and set up your motorhome or travel trailer directly at MacGregor Point Provincial Park, Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area, or even a private cottage driveway in Port Elgin or Southampton. They'll level the rig, connect to hookups, and walk you through everything, from the propane stove to the awning. Just filter for Delivery on the listing page and confirm the drop-off address with your host. It is a game-changer for first-time renters and families who just want to start vacationing the moment they arrive.
saugeenshores.ca/en/explore-and-play/camping.aspxHow far can I drive from Saugeen Shores on a typical RV rental?
You have tons of range from Saugeen Shores, and many RVezy hosts offer generous daily mileage allowances (some even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage). Saugeen Shores sits about 225 km northwest of Toronto on Highway 21, so weekend loops are very doable. Popular RV road trips from Saugeen Shores include Tobermory and Bruce Peninsula National Park (about 115 km north), Sauble Beach (about 27 km), Owen Sound (about 60 km east), and Pinery Provincial Park along Lake Huron's south shore (about 175 km). Check the mileage policy on each listing before booking, and if you are planning a longer Bruce Peninsula loop, simply message the host to negotiate added kilometres up front.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Saugeen%20Shores%2C%20OntarioWhere are the best campgrounds near Saugeen Shores for RV camping?
You have excellent options for RV camping in Saugeen Shores, all within a short drive of Lake Huron beaches. MacGregor Point Provincial Park (just 6 km south of Southampton) offers 360 sites with electric hookups, sandy beach access, and superb birding. Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area has 212 sites along the Saugeen River, including equestrian-friendly options. The town also operates two tourist camps in Port Elgin and Southampton from May 1 to October 31, both walking distance to downtown and the beach. Kenorus Campground & RV Resort and Saugeen Springs RV Park (in nearby Hanover) round out top picks. Pro tip: Ontario Parks reservations open exactly five months ahead, so set a calendar alert for the date you want.
ontarioparks.ca/park/macgregorpointWhen is the best time to visit Saugeen Shores in an RV?
The sweet spot for a Saugeen Shores RV trip is late May through early October, with July and August delivering the warmest Lake Huron swimming (water hits about 21°C / 70°F) and daytime highs around 25 to 27°C (77 to 80°F). June is gorgeous and quieter, while September brings warm sand, cool nights around 10°C (50°F), and those famous Lake Huron sunsets without the crowd. October adds Bruce County fall colour to the mix. Winter dips to around minus 8°C (18°F) with lake-effect snow, so most campgrounds close from late October to early May. Local insider tip: time your trip around the Pumpkinfest weekend in Port Elgin (early October) for a uniquely Saugeen Shores experience.
climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/results_1991_2020_e.htmlI have never rented an RV before. How does the pickup process work?
You are in great hands, even if it is your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, showing you exactly how to operate the slide-outs, propane, water systems, generator, and awning before you drive away. Many Saugeen Shores hosts will also send a short orientation video ahead of time so you arrive prepared. You can message your host through the app with questions at any point before your trip, and RVezy customer support is available throughout. If driving a motorhome on Highway 21 makes you nervous, choose a travel trailer with delivery and the host handles the highway part for you. Most first-timers say it was easier than expected.
ontario.ca/page/driving-recreational-vehicle-rvWhat happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You are never on your own during your Saugeen Shores RV trip. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you are at Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area, parked at Port Elgin Main Beach, or driving back toward Toronto. Roadside covers flat tires, lockouts, dead batteries, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service location. RVezy customer support is also available before, during, and after your trip, and for minor questions (like how to relight the water heater) your host is usually a quick text away through the app. Save both numbers in your phone at pickup and relax into the trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Saugeen Shores RV rental into the US or other provinces?
Cross-border and cross-province RV trips from Saugeen Shores are possible on RVezy. Travel within Canada and into the United States is allowed on many listings (Saugeen Shores is about 3 hours from the Sarnia-Port Huron border crossing), but you must confirm with your host before booking because insurance coverage must extend across the border. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Bring your passport, the vehicle ownership documents the host provides, and proof of insurance coverage. Popular cross-border ideas from Saugeen Shores include Michigan's Upper Peninsula or a Great Lakes loop. Pro tip: message the host directly from the listing page before booking to align on the route.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Saugeen Shores RV trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable cost on any motorhome rental Saugeen Shores trip, but it's manageable with a little planning. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 MPG, and large Class A rigs sit around 7 to 10 MPG. Gas prices in Bruce County typically run a few cents above the Ontario provincial average; Port Elgin and Southampton both have several stations along Goderich Street (Highway 21). For a 4-day Saugeen Shores loop covering 400 to 600 km, budget roughly $150 to $300 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fuel up in Hanover or Walkerton on your way in, where prices often drop a few cents.
ontario.ca/page/gasoline-pricesHow far in advance should I reserve a campground near Saugeen Shores?
Book early, especially for July and August. Ontario Parks opens reservations exactly five months before your arrival date through their official Ontario Parks reservation system, and MacGregor Point Provincial Park sites sell out within minutes for prime summer weekends. Saugeen Conservation manages bookings for Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area online, and private parks like Saugeen Springs RV Park and Kenorus accept reservations directly through their websites. For shoulder season (May, June, September, October), you can often grab a site one to two weeks out. Local insider tip: midweek arrivals at MacGregor Point are dramatically easier to book and you'll still catch the famous Lake Huron sunsets on Tuesday just as well as Saturday.
reservations.ontarioparks.ca/What are driving conditions like around Saugeen Shores?
Driving conditions in and around Saugeen Shores are very RV-friendly. Highway 21 runs straight through Port Elgin and Southampton with wide lanes, no mountain grades, and easy parking at most beaches and trailheads. Local roads are flat to gently rolling farmland, ideal for first-time motorhome drivers. Summer brings cottage-country traffic on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons heading to and from Toronto, so plan arrivals midweek or early morning if possible. Watch for sudden lake-effect rain squalls off Lake Huron and the occasional deer along rural routes at dusk. Winter (November to April) means snow and ice, so most RV rentals operate May through October. Pro tip: avoid Highway 21 through Port Elgin between 4 and 6 p.m. on summer Fridays.
511on.ca/What hookups and dump stations can I expect at Saugeen Shores campgrounds?
You have great options. MacGregor Point Provincial Park offers 360 sites including 140 electric-only hookups, with a dump station and potable water fill on-site for registered campers. Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area provides electric sites, washrooms, and a dump station. The town-run tourist campgrounds in Port Elgin and Southampton offer full-service sites (water, electric, sewer), which is rare to find so close to a downtown beach. Most private parks like Saugeen Springs and Kenorus also offer 30-amp or 50-amp service, fresh water, and dump access. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank before pulling into MacGregor Point because the fill station can have a line on Friday afternoons. Confirm amp service with your host so your RV matches the site.
ontarioparks.ca/park/macgregorpointWhat amenities come standard in a Saugeen Shores RV rental?
You will be impressed by how well-equipped a modern RV rental in Saugeen Shores is. Most listings on RVezy come with a queen or king bed, full kitchen (fridge, propane stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, dining seating with seatbelts, heating, and air conditioning. Many include a TV, outdoor awning, and outdoor speakers, perfect for unwinding after a day at Port Elgin Main Beach. Wi-Fi and onboard generators are often available as add-ons (cell signal in Saugeen Shores is generally strong on Bell and Rogers networks). Each listing page shows the exact sleeps count, amenity list, and photos. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps to match your group size, then sort by reviews to find the most-loved campervan rental Saugeen Shores travellers have raved about.
ontario.ca/page/driving-recreational-vehicle-rvWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for my Saugeen Shores RV rental?
Hosts offer a great selection of add-ons to customize your family RV trip Saugeen Shores experience. Popular extras include linen and towel packages, kitchen kits, camping chairs and tables, BBQs, bike racks, generators, Wi-Fi hotspots, and pet-friendly cleaning bundles. Add-on fees vary by host and are clearly listed on each RVezy listing before you book. For pickup, you can collect the RV at the host's location or choose delivery to your campsite or rental home in Port Elgin, Southampton, or surrounding Bruce County. Mileage policies (free km per day plus an overage rate) are also listed up front on each listing. Pro tip: use Instant Book to lock in popular rigs for July and August before they're gone.
saugeenshores.ca/en/explore-and-play/camping.aspxHow do payment and security deposits work when I rent an RV in Saugeen Shores?
Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV in Saugeen Shores on RVezy, you pay through the platform with your credit card, nothing happens in cash or off-app. Your trip total covers the nightly rate, taxes, service fees, and your chosen renter protection plan. A refundable security deposit is also placed as a hold on your credit card before pickup, with the amount set per listing and shown clearly at checkout. Provided the RV is returned in the same condition (no major damage, with fuel and waste tanks handled per the host's instructions), the deposit is released. Pro tip: take quick photos and a walk-around video at both pickup and drop-off so everyone is aligned and your deposit returns smoothly.
