Renting from Laurie was a quick and easy process. Everything was taken care of The RV was spotless, fully stocked, even with surprises like special soaps, dish detergent, all kinds of things that normally you would have to bring yourself. Lori was easy to deal with and quickly answered all of our questions. It was an absolute pleasure. Our trip was phenomenal. It was fantastic to travel though several provinces in an RV that we know had been fully serviced was gassed up and ready to go. Everything needed was already in place just gather our own personal items and we were off. So if you’re looking for peace of mind, customer care and customer service catered to your specific journey then I highly recommend that you rent your RV from Lori . You won’t regret it !!

It is the kind of trip that feels like a road story and a reunion at once.
Harvest Festival
Feel the bass roll across the hills at Harvest Festival, where house, techno, and bass meet circus art on the legendary Screaming Heads grounds near Burk's Falls. Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Severn, ON
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Severn, ON?
RV rental in Severn is an affordable alternative to traditional Muskoka cottage rentals. On RVezy, expect campervan rentals around $150 to $250 CAD per night, travel trailers from $100 to $200, and larger Class C motorhomes between $200 and $375 nightly, depending on age, size, and amenities. Hosts in the Severn and Orillia area set their own pricing, so you will find plenty of cheap RV rental Severn options if you book midweek or in shoulder season. Travelling in late May or September often saves 20 to 30 percent versus peak July long weekends, and the weather around Lake Couchiching is still gorgeous. Use the price filter on RVezy to dial in your budget before messaging hosts.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Severn%2C%20OntarioDo I need a special licence to rent an RV in Severn, Ontario?
Good news: a regular Ontario G licence (or your home province or country equivalent) is all you need to rent an RV in Severn. No commercial licence, air-brake endorsement, or RV-specific class is required for the motorhomes, campervans and travel trailers listed on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older and must verify their ID through the RVezy platform during booking, which takes just a few minutes. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home licence plus an International Driving Permit and you are set. Most first-time renters are pleasantly surprised by how straightforward the Severn RV rental process really is.

If you get a flat on Highway 11 near Washago or a battery issue at Six Mile Lake Provincial Park, one phone call gets help dispatched so you can focus on enjoying the Trent-Severn Waterway. It is a great reassurance for first-time renters choosing an RV rental in Severn, Ontario.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Severn RV trip plans change?
Booking an RV rental in Severn is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy platform-wide, not individual hosts. Every booking includes a money-back grace period right after you reserve, so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Refund amounts after that window depend on how far in advance you cancel, and if a host needs to cancel, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credit. Because the policy is consistent across listings, you do not need to compare fine print between Severn and Orillia hosts. Pro tip: book early to secure the best motorhome rental Severn options for Canada Day and Labour Day weekends.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Severn?
Absolutely, Severn is a dog lover's dream and pet-friendly RV rental Severn options are plentiful on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when searching and you'll see hosts who happily welcome four-legged co-pilots. Once you're here, Six Mile Lake Provincial Park, Bass Lake Provincial Park, and McRae Point Provincial Park all allow leashed dogs on most trails and at designated pet beaches. The Uhthoff Trail running near Orillia is another great leash-on adventure with shaded sections perfect for hot afternoons. Pro tip: message the host through the listing to confirm any pet fee or shedding rules, and pack a towel for muddy paws after Severn River swims.
ontarioparks.ca/park/sixmilelakeCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Severn?
Yes, RV delivery Severn is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the unit straight to Six Mile Lake Provincial Park, Bayview Wildwood Resort, Hidden Glen, or even a private cottage driveway on Sparrow Lake, then level it, connect the hookups, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. That means zero stress about backing a fifth wheel into a tight site under the pines. Filter by Delivery on RVezy, then message the host with your campground name and dates. Pro tip: delivery is especially handy for Big Chute Marine Railway day-trippers who'd rather paddle than park.
ontarioparks.ca/park/sixmilelakeHow far can I travel from Severn on an RV road trip?
Plenty far, and Severn is one of the best launchpads in Ontario for an RV road trip. From Severn you're 25 minutes to Gravenhurst and the gateway to Muskoka, about 90 minutes to Algonquin Provincial Park (roughly 170 km via Hwy 11 and Hwy 60), under 2 hours south to downtown Toronto, around 3.5 hours to Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula (about 280 km), and about 4 hours to Killarney Provincial Park's pink granite shores. Mileage policies are set per host on RVezy, and many offer generous daily kilometre allowances or even unlimited mileage packages. Pro tip: ask about an unlimited mileage add-on if you're planning a big Georgian Bay loop, then map your fuel stops.
ontarioparks.ca/park/algonquinWhere are the best campgrounds near Severn for an RV trip?
You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Severn include Six Mile Lake Provincial Park (about 25 minutes northwest, with 53 electric sites and a sandy beach), Bass Lake Provincial Park (just 20 minutes south, family-friendly with hookups and a beach loop), McRae Point Provincial Park on Lake Simcoe (about 30 minutes away, all-electric sites), Bayview Wildwood Resort on Sparrow Lake (full-service RV sites with resort amenities), and Hidden Glen Trailer Park near Port Severn (200 acres on Georgian Bay). Each offers a different flavour of RV camping Severn travellers love. Pro tip: book provincial parks the moment your dates are firm because Six Mile Lake and Bass Lake fill quickly for July and August weekends.
ontarioparks.ca/park/sixmilelakeWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip to Severn?
Late May through early October is the sweet spot for a Severn RV trip, with each month offering a different vibe. June brings warm days (averaging 22 to 25 C), green forests and fewer bugs by month's end. July and August are peak season with water temperatures in Lake Couchiching hitting a swimmable 23 to 25 C and full provincial park amenities open. September is the local insider's favourite: warm days, cool nights around 8 to 12 C, no mosquitoes, and the Muskoka maples blazing red by late September. Most campgrounds wind down by mid-October when nighttime lows dip below freezing. Pro tip: target the third week of September for the best fall colour drive along Hwy 169 toward Bala.
climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/results_1991_2020_e.html?searchType=stnName&txtStnName=orilliaI've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay renting in Severn?
You'll do great, and Severn is actually a forgiving place to learn. First time renting an RV? Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving tips, propane, water systems, the slide-out (if equipped), and dumping. Many hosts also send a how-to video before your trip. Once you're rolling, Highway 11 through Severn is wide, straight, and far less stressful than urban driving, and the back roads to Coldwater and Washago are quiet with great sightlines. Start with a Class B campervan or small Class C if you're nervous. Pro tip: pick up your RV midweek to practice in lighter traffic before the weekend crowds hit Orillia and the cottage routes.
ontario.ca/page/driving-and-roadsWhat happens if I have a breakdown or issue during my Severn RV rental?
You are covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so whether you have a flat tire on Hwy 400 near Port Severn, a dead battery at Six Mile Lake, or a propane question at midnight in Washago, one call gets help on the way. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app for quick troubleshooting, and most local hosts know their RVs inside out. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip too. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone at pickup, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and plate.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Severn RV rental across the border into the United States?
Cross-border trips from Severn to the US are sometimes allowed, but it depends entirely on the individual host's policy and insurance coverage, so message the host before booking to confirm. If approved, you'll want to bring your passport (or NEXUS card), the RV's ownership and insurance documents the host provides, and a signed cross-border authorization letter. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance restrictions. Popular US runs from Severn include the 7-hour drive to the Adirondacks via the Thousand Islands crossing at Lansdowne or the scenic loop to Niagara Falls and across into New York State. Pro tip: declare propane levels and any food at the border to avoid delays at the Peace Bridge or Queenston.
cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/menu-eng.htmlWhat kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for in Severn?
Budget realistically and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Class B campervans around Severn typically get 18 to 22 mpg (10 to 13 L/100 km), Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 mpg (17 to 24 L/100 km), and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle, usually 12 to 16 mpg combined. Gas in the Orillia and Severn corridor tends to run a few cents below downtown Toronto pricing; the Esso and Pioneer stations along Hwy 11 in Orillia are convenient fill-ups. For a typical 4-day Severn RV trip covering 600 km, plan roughly $150 to $250 CAD in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: top up in Orillia before heading north to Muskoka, where pump prices climb noticeably.
ontario.ca/page/gasoline-pricesHow far in advance should I book a campground near Severn?
The earlier the better, especially for Ontario Parks. Ontario Parks opens reservations exactly 5 months ahead of your arrival date through the Ontario Parks reservation system, and Six Mile Lake, Bass Lake, and McRae Point fill within hours for July and August weekends. For private campgrounds like Bayview Wildwood, Hidden Glen, or KOA-style parks near Port Severn, aim for 2 to 3 months out for summer weekends and 2 to 4 weeks for shoulder season. Pro tip: if your dream provincial park site is full, set up a reservation cancellation alert and check the Ontario Parks site each morning at 7 AM, when released sites often reappear from cancellations.
reservations.ontarioparks.ca/What are driving conditions like around Severn?
Driving in and around Severn is generally relaxed and RV-friendly, with Hwy 11 and Hwy 400 forming wide, well-maintained corridors right through the township. Expect heavier traffic Friday afternoons northbound and Sunday afternoons southbound during cottage season, especially around the Hwy 11/400 split at Coldwater. The back roads through Coldwater, Washago, and along the Severn River are scenic but narrow with occasional deer, so daytime driving is easiest. Winter brings lake-effect snow squalls off Georgian Bay from December through March, so most RV rentals here run May to October. Pro tip: avoid leaving Toronto for Severn between 3 and 7 PM on summer Fridays; aim for an early morning departure to cruise straight through.
511on.ca/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Severn?
Severn-area campgrounds run the full spectrum, so you can match amenities to your style. Ontario Parks like Six Mile Lake and Bass Lake offer electrical hookups (15/30 amp), potable water taps, vault and flush toilets, hot showers, and clearly marked dump stations near the gatehouse. Private parks such as Bayview Wildwood and Hidden Glen go further with full 3-way hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp), Wi-Fi, laundry, pools, and convenience stores. Need to dump or fill water mid-trip? Six Mile Lake and most Ontario Parks let you use their dump and water fill for a small fee even if you're not camping there. Pro tip: arrive with at least a quarter tank of fresh water so first-night setup is hassle-free.
ontarioparks.ca/camping/servicesWhat features and amenities come with RV rentals in Severn?
Severn RV rentals on RVezy come well-equipped for comfortable trips. Expect sleeping for 2 to 8 people, a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelts for everyone travelling. Most Class C motorhomes and travel trailers include a TV, and many hosts offer Wi-Fi hotspots, outdoor speakers, kayaks, paddleboards, or fire pit kits as add-ons. Generators are common on motorhomes for off-grid nights along Sparrow Lake or near Big Chute. Pro tip: check the listing's amenity list before booking; some Severn hosts include linens, bedding, and a starter propane tank at no extra charge, which saves a packing headache.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Severn%2C%20OntarioWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
RVezy hosts in Severn offer a great mix of add-ons that turn a good trip into a great one. Popular extras include bedding and linen packs, camp chairs, propane refills, kayaks and SUPs (perfect for paddling the Trent-Severn Waterway), generators, bike racks, and even pre-stocked grocery boxes. Pickup logistics are flexible: meet the host at their home base in Severn or Orillia, request RV delivery to your campground, or arrange a meet-up point near Hwy 11. Mileage policies vary by host (often 200 to 400 km/day included with affordable per-kilometre rates over) and some offer unlimited mileage upgrades. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a kayak rental for a hands-free arrival at Six Mile Lake.
pc.gc.ca/en/lhn-nhs/on/trentsevernHow does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Severn?
Payment is simple and secure through RVezy: your booking total is charged to your credit card via the platform, never directly to the host, so you are protected end-to-end. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 CAD depending on the RV class and host) and released back to your card after the trip, assuming no new damage and the RV is returned on time, clean, and with the agreed fuel and tank levels. To avoid surprise charges, take time-stamped photos at pickup and dropoff and confirm dump and refuel expectations with your host. Pro tip: most hosts near Orillia point you to the dump station at Six Mile Lake or a fuel stop on Hwy 12 for an easy return-day routine.
