2025 Winnebago Class B
My husband, Tony, and I just got back from an incredible trip to Yosemite lower Pines and renting Wayne’s Winnebago solar 59PX class B was easily one of the highlights of our vacation. From the very start, Wayne was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and flexible with our pick up and drop off times. The van itself is pristine, immaculately clean, organized, and feels brand new. Wayne is such a thoughtful and generous host. He included so many lovely, personal touches from high-quality soaps and towels to a wonderfully stocked kitchen complete with plates, cups, utensils, and pans. He even provided a coffee maker with an espresso pot, which was such a classy touch! After long days of exploring the park, coming back to a super comfortable bed, made all the difference. Having this amazing set up, truly enhanced our Yosemite experience. We can’t recommend Wayne and his beautiful Solis enough. Thank you for everything!

Mary and her team were nothing but a pleasure to rent from. They were very timely in their communication, the RV was in great condition, and they took their time to make sure I understood everything before our family departed on our trip. They were even very understanding and flexible with some of the last minute changes we had to make to our reservation. Checking out and returning the RV was super easy. I would definitely rent from them again!

2025 Prime Time Travel Trailer
Amazing experience amazing host. Trailer was exactly as described. Everything worked as it should and I have zero complaints. Myself, my girlfriend and our black lab Mable rented this trailer to take it camping up at Owens river to hangout and fish. We got some pretty high winds and rain the first day and some snow the second night. It’s dry camping up there so the generator they supplied was crucial and it worked great. Heater worked great, fridge and freezer get cold very fast and the water pressure and shower were perfect. The whole experience was great from the pick up to drop off and we will definitely be renting from them again!

Arriving in your own RV means a warm kitchen, your own bed, and a flexible base for cold evenings after the walk back from the viewing area. RV rental in June Lake is more affordable than you might expect for such a stunning Eastern Sierra destination. On RVezy you will typically find campervans starting around $125 to $175 per night, travel trailers in the $150 to $225 range, and larger Class C motorhomes between $225 and $375 per night, depending on season and amenities. The smartest way to score a cheap RV rental in June Lake is to book a midweek trip in late May or early October when prices drop but the weather is still beautiful. What license do I need to rent an RV in June Lake, California?

Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in June Lake, California. There is no special RV endorsement or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required for any of the motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers on RVezy, even larger Class A and Class C rigs. You generally need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association before you fly and pair it with your home country license. Is my June Lake RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every booking through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can drive into the Eastern Sierra with real peace of mind. The protection plans help cover accidental damage to the RV, which is reassuring when navigating the June Lake Loop or parking under tall pines at Silver Lake. During checkout you can choose from different coverage levels to match your trip and budget. It is not traditional auto insurance, but it provides substantial financial protection so you can focus on fishing Gull Lake and chasing aspen colors instead of worrying about minor scrapes.

What if my June Lake plans change. Can I cancel my RV rental?

Yes. RVezy understands that mountain trips can be affected by Sierra snowstorms, Tioga Pass closures, or simple life changes, so a clear cancellation policy applies to every booking. There is a money-back grace period right after you book, and additional refund options depending on how far ahead of your trip you cancel. The policy is set by RVezy directly, not by individual hosts, so you get consistent treatment no matter which June Lake listing you choose. You can review the full policy details in the RVezy Help Center before you book, then finalize your campground reservation and start planning that scenic drive past Carson Peak.

Can I bring my dog on a June Lake RV trip?

You sure can, and June Lake is one of the most dog-friendly destinations in California. Many RVezy hosts mark their listings as pet-friendly, so just toggle the 'Pet-Friendly' filter when searching for a pet-friendly RV rental in June Lake and you'll see options instantly. Dogs are welcome on most trails in Inyo National Forest, around the Rush Creek Trailhead, and along the shoreline at Gull Lake Park (leashed). The Forest Service campgrounds at Oh! Ridge, Silver Lake, and Reversed Creek all allow leashed pets too. Pro tip: pack a tie-out and extra water, since the 7,600-foot elevation means dogs can dehydrate faster than they do at home.

Can the RV be delivered to my June Lake campsite?

Yes, RV delivery in June Lake is one of the smartest ways to start your trip, especially if you'd rather skip towing a trailer up Highway 395 from Los Angeles or Reno. Many RVezy hosts offer delivery directly to Oh! Ridge Campground, June Lake Campground, Gull Lake, Silver Lake, or Reversed Creek, and they'll level the RV, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Just filter listings by 'Delivery' and message the host with your campground site number. This is hands-down the easiest option for a first time renting an RV, because you arrive, unpack, and start exploring the loop without ever touching a steering wheel.

How far can I drive on a June Lake RV trip?

Plenty far, because June Lake is the perfect basecamp for exploring the Eastern Sierra. Most RVezy hosts include a daily mileage allotment (often 100 to 150 miles per day) with reasonable per-mile overage rates, and some offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer journeys. From June Lake you're about 16 miles to Mammoth Lakes, 20 miles to Mono Lake's Tufa towers, 25 miles to Tioga Pass and Yosemite's eastern entrance (when open), 75 miles to Bodie State Historic Park, and 165 miles to Lake Tahoe. Pro tip: if you're planning a big loop, message the host before booking to negotiate a flat mileage package; many are happy to work with multi-day adventurers.

What are the best campgrounds near June Lake for RVs?

You've got fantastic options for RV camping in June Lake at every price point. The best campgrounds near June Lake include Oh! Ridge Campground (143 sites overlooking June Lake, around $38/night, flush toilets and bear lockers), June Lake Campground (28 lakeside sites for around $32/night), Silver Lake Campground (shaded sites near the Rush Creek Trailhead), and Reversed Creek Campground (tucked beside a meadow near Gull Lake). For full hookups, Golden Pine RV Park and June Lake RV Park inside the village offer water, sewer, electric, and walking access to June Lake Brewing. Forest Service sites book on a 6-month rolling window at Recreation.gov, so set a calendar reminder for popular summer weekends.

When is the best time to visit June Lake in an RV?

Late June through mid-October is the sweet spot for a June Lake RV trip, with the absolute peak being late September to mid-October when the aspens explode in gold and orange. Summer highs sit comfortably in the 75 to 85°F range with cool 40 to 50°F nights at 7,600 feet, while autumn brings crisp days and world-famous fall foliage. 'Fishmas' (the last Saturday in April) kicks off trout season and is a beloved local tradition. Winter is open for adventurous travelers heading to June Mountain Ski Area, but expect snow, chains, and limited RV park availability. Pro tip: book your RV and campsite by February for a fall foliage trip; aspen season fills fast.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving in June Lake?

You're going to do great, and June Lake is a wonderful first time renting an RV destination because the roads are scenic but manageable. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, water systems, generator, and waste tanks, so you won't be guessing. Highway 158 (the June Lake Loop) is a paved, gentle 16-mile road perfect for cruising, and Highway 395 is a wide, well-maintained route. If you'd rather not drive at all, request delivery so the RV is waiting for you. Pro tip: practice a few right turns and reverse stops in a flat parking lot in Mammoth before heading into your campsite, and you'll feel like a pro by sunset.

What happens if my RV breaks down near June Lake?

You are covered: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking, so help is just a phone call away whether you are parked at Silver Lake or pulled over along Highway 395. Roadside support handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical issues, and the RVezy support team is available before, during, and after every trip to coordinate solutions with your host. Cell service is solid in the town of June Lake and along most of the loop, though it can drop briefly between Grant Lake and Mono Lake. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's contact in your phone before you leave Bishop or Reno, and you will never feel out of reach.

What are popular road trip routes from June Lake?

June Lake is the gateway to some of California's most iconic drives. A classic RV road trip from June Lake includes a day at Mono Lake (20 miles north), Bodie Ghost Town (75 miles), and Mammoth Lakes (16 miles south). For a bigger adventure, head over Tioga Pass into Yosemite National Park (about 25 miles to the entrance when open, typically late May through October) or drive Highway 395 north to Lake Tahoe (165 miles) or south to Death Valley (about 220 miles). Cross-border travel into Nevada is welcome and Reno is just 150 miles away. Note: travel into Mexico isn't covered by RVezy. Pro tip: check Caltrans QuickMap for Tioga Pass status before locking in your route.

How much will fuel cost for my June Lake RV trip?

Fuel is a real but manageable part of the budget for a motorhome rental in June Lake. Expect Class C motorhomes to average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, campervans 16 to 20 mpg, and trucks pulling travel trailers around 10 to 14 mpg. California gas prices in the Eastern Sierra typically run $0.50 to $1.00 higher than the state average because of the remote location, so fill up in Bishop or Lee Vining before heading deep into the loop. A typical 4-night June Lake trip from Los Angeles (about 700 miles round trip) runs roughly $250 to $400 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: the Chevron in Lee Vining is the last reliable fuel stop before Yosemite if you're heading west.

How far in advance should I book a campground near June Lake?

For summer and fall trips, book your campground the day reservations open, which is exactly six months in advance on Recreation.gov for all Inyo National Forest sites around June Lake. Oh! Ridge, June Lake, Silver Lake, Gull Lake, and Reversed Creek campgrounds typically sell out within hours for weekends in July, August, and the peak aspen weeks of late September and early October. Private parks like Golden Pine RV Park and June Lake RV Park accept reservations even earlier and are your best bet for last-minute trips. Pro tip: set a 7 a.m. alarm exactly six months before your target date and have your site numbers picked out ahead of time. The 'fall colors' window books fastest.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232268

What are the driving conditions like around June Lake?

Driving around June Lake is genuinely enjoyable: Highway 158 (the loop) is paved, well-marked, and rarely crowded, with gentle grades that any motorhome can handle. Highway 395 is a wide, fast-moving 2 to 4 lane route that's the main artery of the Eastern Sierra. The main consideration is elevation: you'll be at 7,600 feet, so engines work harder, brakes need extra distance on downgrades, and weather can change in minutes. From November through April, expect snow and chain controls; portions of CA-158 and Tioga Pass close entirely in winter. Pro tip: check Caltrans QuickMap and the National Weather Service Reno forecast the morning you drive, and never trust GPS shortcuts onto unpaved Forest Service roads in an RV.
quickmap.dot.ca.gov/

What amenities do June Lake campgrounds offer for RVs?

You'll find a full range of options for RV camping in June Lake. Forest Service campgrounds (Oh! Ridge, June Lake, Silver Lake, Gull Lake, Reversed Creek) provide flush toilets, drinking water, bear-proof food lockers, picnic tables, and fire rings, but no hookups, so plan to use your RV's onboard tanks. Private parks like Golden Pine RV Park and June Lake RV Park offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and fish-cleaning stations. The closest dump stations and potable water fill-ups are at Mammoth Mountain RV Park (16 miles south) and the private parks in town. Pro tip: bears are very active here, so always store food and scented items inside the RV or the provided lockers, never outside.
fs.usda.gov/recarea/inyo/recreation/recarea/?recid=20276&actid=29

What's inside the RVs available for rent in June Lake?

RVezy listings in June Lake range from cozy campervans to full-sized family motorhomes, and most come trip-ready. Expect comfortable beds (queen or king in larger rigs, convertible dinettes for extras), a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with both heat and AC, and seatbelted seating for travel. Most Class C motorhomes sleep 4 to 7 people, campervans sleep 2 to 4, and travel trailers sleep 4 to 8. Many hosts include a generator (helpful for boondocking near Mono Lake), outdoor chairs, a Bluetooth stereo, and sometimes a TV or Wi-Fi hotspot. Pro tip: filter by 'Sleeps' count and read the listing's amenities list to find the perfect fit for your family RV trip in June Lake.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=June%20Lake%2C%20California

What add-ons and options should I look for when I rent an RV in June Lake?

The right add-ons can make your June Lake RV trip dramatically better. Look for hosts offering bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, generator use (key for dry camping at Forest Service sites with no hookups), camp chairs and outdoor tables, firewood, bikes or paddleboards, and pet packages. Delivery and setup to your campground is one of the most popular add-ons and is typically priced per mile from the host's location. Many hosts include a daily mileage allotment with reasonable overage rates. Pro tip: message the host before booking to bundle delivery, generator, and a starter water and propane fill into one quote, since they are often willing to discount the combo.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=June%20Lake%2C%20California

How do payment and the security deposit work for RVezy rentals in June Lake?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy directly when you book (never in cash to the host), with the total broken into clear line items for nightly rate, taxes, RVezy service fee, and your chosen protection plan. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment before pickup, with the amount set by the host based on the RV's value, and it is released after the trip once the host confirms no damage. To help your deposit come back smoothly, take time-stamped photos of the RV's interior and exterior at pickup and dropoff, return it with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and empty the waste tanks at the campground dump or Mammoth Mountain RV Park. Pro tip: keep all receipts and message your host through the RVezy app so everything is documented in one place.

Can I take a winter RV trip to June Lake?

Yes, and a winter June Lake RV trip can be absolute magic, with snow-draped pines, frozen lakes, and June Mountain Ski Area just minutes from town. Most Forest Service campgrounds close from mid-October to late April, but Golden Pine RV Park stays open year-round with plowed sites and shore power (great for running heat without draining batteries). Look for RVezy listings labeled '4-season' or 'winter-ready,' which feature heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and stronger furnaces. You'll need to carry tire chains by California law from November through April on Highway 158 and Highway 395, and propane use spikes in the cold, so top off in Lee Vining. Pro tip: book a delivered RV with full hookups so the host handles winterization details and you just enjoy the snow.
