2024 Entegra Coach Class C
We thoroughly enjoyed this experience with Bill and renting his RV. Bill is a great communicator and really nice guy who is easy to work with and very helpful. He was great about having us over on short notice to check it out before we agreed to rent it. It is like new and very well maintained and handled nicely on our long trip. The unlimited mileage was great and we got a discount for a weekly rate. No issues on the trip and everything worked well as expected. I would highly recommend renting this RV and working with Bill - thanks again as it was a pleasure working with you Bill!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Bloomington, IL
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Bloomington, IL?
RV rental in Bloomington is one of the more affordable ways to explore central Illinois and Route 66 country. On RVezy, expect roughly $90 to $175 per night for travel trailers, $125 to $225 per night for Class C motorhomes, and $175 to $325 per night for larger Class A coaches. Campervan rental Bloomington options usually fall on the lower end and are great for solo travelers or couples. To score a cheap RV rental Bloomington deal, book midweek, travel in the shoulder months of April, May, September, or October, and consider trailers (which you can often have delivered so you skip the towing learning curve). Pro tip: weekends around Illinois State University home games book up fast, so locking in early saves money.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Bloomington%2C%20IllinoisDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Bloomington?
A regular Illinois driver's license (or any valid U.S. or Canadian license) is all you need to rent an RV in Bloomington. No Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special RV endorsement is required for the motorhomes, campervans, travel trailers, or fifth wheels listed on RVezy. The primary driver must generally be 25 or older and complete RVezy's quick approved-driver verification during booking. Visiting from overseas to explore Route 66? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit and you're set. Most first-time renters in Bloomington-Normal are surprised how straightforward the paperwork actually is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs insurance and roadside assistance included with my Bloomington RV rental?
Yes, every motorhome rental Bloomington booking on RVezy automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit I-55 or I-74 with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle during your trip and provides meaningful financial protection so a minor mishap doesn't derail your vacation. During checkout you (the guest, not the host) choose from several coverage levels based on how much extra protection you want. Roadside help covers flat tires, jump-starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing, which is reassuring on long stretches of central Illinois interstate. Pro tip: pick your coverage level before you start packing so it's one less thing to think about.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Bloomington RV trip?
Life happens, and RVezy makes cancellations far less stressful than you'd expect. RVezy (not the individual host) sets the cancellation policy, so the rules are consistent across every listing in Bloomington. There's a money-back grace period right after booking, plus structured refund options depending on how far out from your trip you cancel, and added flexibility for major events like severe weather or natural disasters. That means a surprise tornado watch or a sudden change in your schedule doesn't have to mean losing your whole trip cost. Pro tip: review the current cancellation details on RVezy before you confirm, and reach out to RVezy support anytime your plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Bloomington?
Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental Bloomington options are easy to find on RVezy. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page and you'll see listings whose owners welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) along for the ride. Once you're rolling, Bloomington and Normal are genuinely dog-friendly: Tipton Park has shaded trails, Constitution Trail offers paved paths perfect for evening walks, and Comlara Park at Evergreen Lake (about 15 minutes north) allows leashed pets in most camping loops. Pro tip: message the host before booking to mention your pet's size and breed, ask about any cleaning fees, and pack a copy of vaccination records since some Illinois state campgrounds may ask to see them at check-in.
mcleancountyil.gov/162/Comlara-ParkCan the RV be delivered to my campground or home in Bloomington?
Yes, RV delivery Bloomington is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who'd rather not drive a big rig through downtown or onto I-39. Many hosts will deliver to your driveway or a local campground such as Comlara Park, Moraine View State Recreation Area, or Timberline Campground in Goodfield, then set up the RV, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Some hosts also pick the RV back up at the end of your trip. Use the Delivery filter when you search, and message the host to confirm the delivery fee (usually a flat rate or per-mile charge). Pro tip: delivery to Comlara is a hometown favorite, with hookups and lakeside sites just 15 minutes from Uptown Normal.
mcleancountyil.gov/162/Comlara-ParkHow far can I travel on a Bloomington RV trip, and how does mileage work?
You've got serious range from Bloomington thanks to its central location at the crossroads of I-55, I-74, and I-39. Every RVezy host sets their own mileage policy: many offer 100 to 150 free miles per day, some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage (great for longer trips), and additional miles typically run $0.30 to $0.50 each. Popular RV road trip from Bloomington picks include Starved Rock State Park (about 75 miles north), Springfield and the Lincoln sites (60 miles south), St. Louis (160 miles southwest), Chicago (135 miles northeast), and Indianapolis (200 miles east). Pro tip: filter by Unlimited Mileage if you're planning to chase Route 66 from Pontiac down to Litchfield, since the miles add up fast.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Bloomington%2C%20IllinoisWhere are the best campgrounds near Bloomington, IL for RV camping?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Bloomington. The best campgrounds near Bloomington include Comlara Park at Evergreen Lake (about 15 minutes north, with electric hookups, dump station, and a swimming beach), Moraine View State Recreation Area near LeRoy (about 25 minutes east, with electric sites and 158-acre Dawson Lake), Weldon Springs State Park near Clinton (about 35 minutes south), Timberline Campground in Goodfield (about 30 minutes west, with a pool and mini-golf), and Kamp Komfort RV Park along I-74 for easy big-rig access. Pro tip: Comlara's premium lakeside sites book months ahead for summer weekends, so reserve early through the McLean County Parks website.
mcleancountyil.gov/162/Comlara-ParkWhen is the best time of year to take an RV trip from Bloomington?
The sweet spot for a Bloomington RV trip is late April through mid-June, then again from late August through mid-October. Spring brings blooming prairie wildflowers and daytime highs in the 60s and 70s, while early fall delivers crisp mornings, harvest colors across central Illinois farmland, and highs in the 70s. July is the hottest month (average highs near 85F with humid air), and January is the coldest (average highs around 32F with snow possible). May tends to be one of the wettest months, so pack a rain jacket. Pro tip: time your trip with the Illinois State Fair in Springfield in mid-August or the Sweet Corn Blues Festival in Uptown Normal for a true Midwest experience.
weather.gov/ilx/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay starting from Bloomington?
You'll do great. Bloomington is one of the easiest places in the Midwest for a first time renting an RV because the surrounding terrain is flat, the interstates (I-55, I-74, I-39) are wide and well-maintained, and traffic is light compared to Chicago or St. Louis. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, water systems, propane, and dumping, and you can message them throughout your trip with questions. If you'd rather skip city driving entirely, choose delivery so the RV is ready and waiting at your campsite. Pro tip: take a first practice loop on the quiet country roads east of Towanda before merging onto I-55, and you'll feel confident within an hour.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if something breaks down during my Bloomington RV trip?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing across Illinois and beyond. If something inside the RV needs attention (a stubborn slide-out, a finicky water pump), your host is your first call and most respond within minutes. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip if you need extra help. Bloomington's central location is a bonus: you're within easy reach of national RV service centers in Bloomington-Normal and several mobile RV techs serving McLean County. Pro tip: snap a quick photo of the RV's VIN and roadside-assist sticker at pickup so you're ready to call if needed.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Bloomington RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, crossing state lines is fine and very popular, since Bloomington sits at the hub of I-55, I-74, and I-39. From here you can easily reach Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Kentucky on a single trip. Cross-border travel into Canada depends on the individual host and protection plan coverage, so message the host before booking if you're planning to visit Ontario or beyond. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: a fantastic multi-state loop is Bloomington to Mark Twain country in Hannibal, Missouri (about 180 miles), then up to Galena and on to the Wisconsin Dells, all on smooth interstate.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Bloomington RV trip?
Fuel is easier on the wallet than most first-timers expect. Illinois gas prices typically run a bit above the national average, and most rentals use regular unleaded or diesel. Realistic mileage looks like 18 to 22 MPG for a campervan, 8 to 12 MPG for a Class C motorhome, 6 to 10 MPG for a Class A, and 12 to 16 MPG for a truck-and-travel-trailer combo. For a 3-night trip from Bloomington to Starved Rock and back (about 150 miles round trip), expect roughly $60 to $120 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Lincoln or Atlanta along I-55, where prices often run a few cents cheaper than at the Bloomington exits.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Bloomington?
For the best campgrounds near Bloomington, plan ahead but don't stress. Illinois state park campgrounds (Moraine View, Weldon Springs, Starved Rock) accept reservations six months in advance through the Illinois DNR Camp IL system, and summer weekends often fill within days of the booking window opening. Comlara Park at Evergreen Lake takes reservations through the McLean County Parks website and books up 2 to 3 months out for holiday weekends. Private parks like Timberline and Kamp Komfort are usually more flexible and often have midweek openings. Pro tip: if you strike out on weekend availability, look at Sunday-through-Thursday stays, which are quieter, cheaper, and almost always wide open in central Illinois.
camp.exploremoreil.com/What are local driving conditions like around Bloomington?
Driving an RV around Bloomington is refreshingly easy. The land is flat, the interstates are wide, and there are no mountain passes, tight switchbacks, or tunnels to worry about. The main things to watch for are sudden Midwest thunderstorms in summer (especially May and June), occasional high crosswinds across open farmland on I-39 and I-55, and winter snow squalls from November through March. Construction season runs roughly April through October, so check IDOT's GettingAroundIllinois site before you roll out. Avoid Veterans Parkway during weekday rush hour (4 to 6 PM) when locals head home from State Farm headquarters. Pro tip: if a tornado warning pops up, pull off at the next exit and take shelter in a sturdy building, since RVs aren't safe shelter in severe weather.
gettingaroundillinois.com/What amenities should I expect at campgrounds near Bloomington?
Central Illinois campgrounds make RV life simple. Comlara Park offers 30/50-amp electric, water hookups, modern restrooms, hot showers, and a dump station near the entrance. Moraine View State Recreation Area provides electric sites, plus shared water spigots and a dump station. Private parks like Timberline Campground in Goodfield include full hookups (sewer at the site), Wi-Fi, a swimming pool, and a camp store. Almost every campground in McLean and surrounding counties has potable water fill stations and a dump station included with your nightly fee. Pro tip: if you need to dump or refill water mid-trip without staying overnight, the Pilot Travel Center in Lincoln has potable water access right off I-55, and many private campgrounds offer day-use dump service for a small fee.
dnr.illinois.gov/parks/park.moraineview.htmlWhat's actually inside the RV I'll rent in Bloomington?
You'll be more comfortable than you'd expect. Most RVs listed in Bloomington come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, additional convertible sleeping areas (dinette and sofa), a kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, propane stove, sink, and cookware, plus a bathroom with toilet and shower. Air conditioning and a furnace are standard on Class B, Class C, and Class A motorhomes, perfect for muggy July nights or chilly October mornings. Many rigs also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, lawn chairs, and a generator for off-grid power. Wi-Fi is hit-or-miss but many hosts offer a mobile hotspot add-on. Pro tip: check the listing's amenity list and host bio carefully so you know exactly what's stocked, then pack only sheets, towels, and food.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Bloomington%2C%20IllinoisWhat add-ons and features should I look for when renting an RV in Bloomington?
The right add-ons turn a good trip into a great one. Popular extras for a family RV trip Bloomington include bedding and linen packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits ($25 to $50), generator use (often $3 to $5 per hour beyond a free daily allowance), bike racks, outdoor grills, and pet packages. Delivery and setup is the most-requested add-on locally, usually a flat fee or $2 to $4 per mile from the host's home base. Pickup is typically between 1 and 4 PM and dropoff before 11 AM, though many hosts offer flexible windows for an extra fee. Mileage policies vary: most offer 100 to 150 free miles per day, while some advertise unlimited mileage. Pro tip: bundle bedding, kitchen, and delivery together and ask the host if they'll discount a multi-night booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Bloomington%2C%20IllinoisHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Bloomington on RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card (never cash directly to the host), and your payment is held safely until the trip begins. A refundable security deposit is placed on your card before pickup, typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV's value, and it's released back to you a few days after dropoff assuming the rig comes back in the same condition. To avoid surprise charges, do a thorough walkaround photo inspection with the host at pickup and again at dropoff. Pro tip: keep the RV's interior tidy, return it with the fuel level the host requested, and empty the gray and black tanks at the campground dump station before you head home.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Bloomington during winter?
Yes, winter rentals are available in Bloomington, and a cozy motorhome rental Bloomington can be a memorable way to experience snowy central Illinois. Look for listings that specifically advertise four-season use, heated and enclosed holding tanks, a propane furnace, and shore power capability, since January highs sit around 32F and overnight lows often drop into the teens. Many state-park campgrounds shut off water service from November through March, but Comlara Park at Evergreen Lake and several private parks keep electric sites open year-round. Think quiet trails dusted in snow, hot cocoa by the heater, and zero campground crowds. Pro tip: ask the host to demonstrate the furnace and tank heaters at pickup, and travel with extra propane so you stay toasty all weekend.
