We had a fantastic experience with Obi’s RV. It is a great RV, in excellent condition and really easy to drive and stay in. It is comfortable and spacious and Obi’s communication was excellent. Both he and his wife are lovely people and were incredibly helpful and thoughtful throughout the whole experience from booking through to return. I would highly recommend.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Camp Springs, MD?

A regular Maryland (or any U.S. state) driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Camp Springs, MD. There is no Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special RV endorsement required for Class A, Class B, or Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, or fifth wheels rented through RVezy. Approved drivers must generally be at least 25 years old, and ID verification happens directly inside the RVezy platform when you book. Visiting from abroad? Pair your home license with an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto club. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the approval process is.

What's the cancellation policy if my Camp Springs RV trip plans change?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every reservation includes a grace-period window after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, as long as your trip isn't starting in the next few days. Refund amounts after that depend on how close you are to your pickup date and whether unusual circumstances apply, such as a major weather event affecting the Mid-Atlantic. Book your Camp Springs RV trip a few weeks out so you have plenty of flexibility. The full, current cancellation terms are available on RVezy's Help Center, and customer support is just a message away.

Where are the best campgrounds near Camp Springs, MD?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Camp Springs adventures. Cherry Hill Park in College Park (about 20 minutes north) is the closest full-hookup RV resort to Washington, D.C., with pools, a splash park, and shuttle service to the National Mall. Greenbelt Park, run by the National Park Service just minutes from the Washington Monument, offers 172 wooded sites with restrooms, showers, and a dump station. Cedarville State Forest in Brandywine has electric sites surrounded by thousands of acres of pine forest, and Smallwood State Park along the Potomac is a quieter option about 40 minutes southwest. Book Cherry Hill 3 to 6 months ahead for cherry blossom season in late March.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Camp Springs?

Spring and fall are the sweet spots in this corner of Maryland. The best time for an RV rental Maryland trip out of Camp Springs runs from late March through May, when cherry blossoms bloom in D.C. and daytime highs sit between 60 and 75°F, and again from mid-September through early November, when foliage lights up the Blue Ridge and humidity finally drops. Summer (June to August) brings hot, humid 85 to 95°F days, great for Chesapeake Bay beach trips but tough on AC units. Winters are mild but chilly (30s to 40s°F), and Greenbelt Park stays open year-round. Avoid the Cherry Blossom Festival weekends if you want availability, book 4 to 6 months ahead instead.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I actually know how to use it?

You'll be in great hands, even if it's your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup (or at delivery) covering propane, water, the generator, slide-outs, awnings, dumping the tanks, and driving tips specific to that rig. You can also message your host with questions before booking, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every protection plan. For your first motorhome rental Camp Springs trip, consider a Class C (drives like a big van) or a smaller travel trailer (under 25 feet) for easier handling on D.C. area roads. Do a short shakedown night at Cherry Hill Park or Greenbelt before heading farther afield.

If a system inside the RV stops working (fridge, AC, generator), message your host directly through the RVezy app, most are local to the Capital Region and can troubleshoot or arrange a service visit quickly. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Save the roadside assistance number to your phone before pulling out of Camp Springs.

Can I take my Camp Springs RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, and Camp Springs is one of the best East Coast launch points for an RV road trip from Camp Springs. You're free to drive into Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and beyond. Popular cross-state routes include Skyline Drive in Shenandoah (Virginia), the Outer Banks (North Carolina, about 6 hours south), and Acadia National Park (Maine, about 12 hours). Travel to Canada may be allowed depending on the host and insurance coverage, so message the host before booking to confirm. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. A 4 to 5 day loop from Camp Springs to Shenandoah and back is a great first-timer route.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What should I budget for fuel on a Camp Springs RV trip?

Fuel is easier to plan for than most people think. Class C motorhomes around Camp Springs typically get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), Class A rigs about 6 to 10 MPG, campervans 16 to 22 MPG, and a tow-behind travel trailer pulled by your truck usually drops your tow vehicle's fuel economy by 25 to 40 percent. Regular gas prices in Prince George's County often run slightly above the national average, so check the EIA for current pricing before your trip. For a 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C, plan a fuel budget based on current local prices. Costco in Beltsville (about 15 minutes from Camp Springs) and Wawa stations along Route 5 typically have lower prices, fill up before getting on I-95.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Camp Springs?

Earlier is better, especially in spring. For the best campgrounds near Camp Springs, plan to reserve 3 to 6 months in advance for peak season (late March through October), with cherry blossom weekends in late March and early April booking up first. Greenbelt Park bookings open 6 months out on Recreation.gov, while Cherry Hill Park accepts reservations directly through their website. Maryland State Parks like Cedarville State Forest and Smallwood use the Maryland Park Service reservation system. Weekday arrivals (Sunday through Thursday) are far easier to score last-minute, and if your dates are full, set a cancellation alert to catch openings at Greenbelt or Cherry Hill.

What are local driving conditions like around Camp Springs?

Camp Springs sits just inside the Capital Beltway (I-495), so the biggest thing to know is timing. Avoid driving the Beltway, I-295, and the Wilson Bridge during weekday rush hours (roughly 6 to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 7 p.m.), traffic regularly slows to a crawl. Stick to local routes like MD-5 and MD-4 for easier driving in a larger rig. Important: vehicles carrying propane are restricted from the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel and Fort McHenry Tunnel on I-95, use the I-895 east bypass or the I-695 Francis Scott Key Bridge corridor instead (check MDTA for current bridge status). Leave Camp Springs before 6 a.m. or after 7 p.m. for stress-free highway driving, and consider delivery if city driving makes you nervous, the RV comes to you.

What amenities can I expect at local campgrounds, and where can I dump or refill water?

Local campgrounds make the practical stuff easy. Cherry Hill Park in College Park offers full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, two pools, and a dump station, while Greenbelt Park has sites with restrooms, showers, drinking water spigots, and a dump station for registered campers. Cedarville State Forest and Smallwood State Park provide electric and water hookups at most sites plus dump stations. For dumping mid-trip, many Flying J and Pilot Travel Centers in the region offer public dump stations for a small fee. Top off your fresh water tank before leaving the campground, finding potable water fills on the road around D.C. can be tricky.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and fully handled through RVezy. You'll pay the rental total (nightly rate plus host fees plus your chosen protection plan) by credit or debit card at booking, no cash exchanges with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment before pickup and released after a clean return. Hosts cannot charge you outside the RVezy platform, which protects you from unexpected fees. To avoid any deposit issues, do a quick photo walkaround at pickup and return, follow the host's fuel and dump-tank instructions, and stay within your mileage allowance. Keep your fuel receipt from a station near Camp Springs as proof when you return the rig.

A classic 3 to 4 day RV road trip from Camp Springs heads west to Shenandoah National Park (about 100 miles), where Skyline Drive offers 105 miles of overlooks and dozens of trailheads.
