What license do I need to rent an RV in Langley Park, Maryland?

Great news: for nearly every RV rental in Langley Park, your regular driver's license is all you need. The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) exempts motor homes and recreational vehicles from commercial licensing, and Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, and travel trailers under 26,001 pounds GVWR can be driven with a standard Class C noncommercial license. To book on RVezy you must be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and ID confirmation happens right inside the platform during checkout. Visiting from abroad? An International Driving Permit paired with your home license works perfectly. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the process is, often under ten minutes.

Where can I camp near Langley Park with an RV?

You've got excellent options within a short drive. The best campgrounds near Langley Park include Greenbelt Park Campground (about 6 miles away, 172 wooded sites operated by the National Park Service, primitive with a dump station and showers, RVs up to 35 feet in D Loop), Cherry Hill Park in College Park (4 miles, full hookups, pool, and a DC shuttle), Capitol KOA Holiday in Millersville (about 25 miles), Patuxent River Park's Jug Bay Natural Area, and Little Bennett Regional Park in Montgomery County (about 30 miles, full-hookup loop). Pro tip: Greenbelt's Metro station is just 1.5 miles from the campground, so you can RV camping Langley Park and still ride the Green Line straight into DC.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Langley Park?

Honestly, three seasons here are wonderful. Spring (mid-March through May) brings 55 to 75 degree days and the famous DC cherry blossoms; early fall (September to early November) delivers crisp 50 to 75 degree weather and brilliant foliage in the Catoctin Mountains; and even winter trips work since Greenbelt Park Campground stays open year-round. Summer (June to August) is hot and humid with highs near 88 and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, so look for RVs with strong air conditioning and consider weekday camping to dodge crowds. Local insider tip: book a late-March RV around peak bloom at the Tidal Basin, then escape the city crowds back to your quiet site at Greenbelt by sunset.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You'll do great, and you won't be alone. First time renting an RV through RVezy means your host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, propane, the water system, dumping tanks, and the awning. You can message your host any time before, during, or after your trip, and 24/7 roadside assistance is one tap away. For Langley Park beginners, Class C motorhomes and smaller travel trailers are the easiest to drive, and choosing delivery means you skip city driving entirely. Pro tip: do your first night at Greenbelt Park's D Loop, a paved, level campground six miles from Langley Park where you can practice systems without long drives.

Help is always close. Every RV rental Maryland booking on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing if needed. You also have a direct line to your host through the RVezy app, and our customer support team is available before, during, and after every trip. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV's tire pressure sticker, fluid checks, and propane levels during your walkthrough so you can troubleshoot fast if anything pops up.

What are the best RV road trip routes from Langley Park?

You're sitting on one of the East Coast's best launch pads. Popular RV road trip from Langley Park routes include: the Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park loop (about 140 miles southwest, two to three days of overlooks and waterfalls), Assateague Island National Seashore for wild ponies on the beach (about 145 miles east), Harpers Ferry and the C&O Canal (75 miles northwest), Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania (about 90 miles north), and Ocean City for the boardwalk and beaches (about 145 miles east). Crossing into Canada is allowed with host approval and proper documentation, but travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: tunnels on I-95 around Baltimore restrict propane, so plan the I-695 Beltway around them.
nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/skyline-drive.htm

What should I budget for fuel and gas?

Fuel is one of the more predictable parts of your trip budget. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A motorhomes 6 to 10 MPG; travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Gas in the Langley Park area runs in line with the broader DC metro market, and you'll find competitive prices at Costco in Beltsville and along Route 1 in College Park. A typical 200-mile weekend loop in a Class C costs roughly $60 to $90 in fuel at current prices. Pro tip: top off in Maryland before crossing into Virginia, where prices on a campervan rental Langley Park trip can swing a few cents either way.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground?

Earlier is better, but you have options. Greenbelt Park Campground (the closest National Park Service campground at just 6 miles from Langley Park) takes reservations through Recreation.gov on a rolling six-month window, and weekends from April through October fill up fastest. Maryland State Park campgrounds like Patapsco Valley and Cunningham Falls also book via the state's reservation system up to a year in advance for prime weekends. Private parks like Cherry Hill Park accept reservations directly through their website. Pro tip: if everything looks booked, check the Recreation.gov site three to four days before your trip for cancellations, especially for Greenbelt's D Loop RV sites.

What are local driving conditions like in and around Langley Park?

Once you know the rhythm, driving is very manageable. Langley Park sits at the busy intersection of University Boulevard (MD-193) and New Hampshire Avenue (MD-650), so weekday rush hours from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. on the Capital Beltway (I-495) can be slow. Avoid the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel and Fort McHenry Tunnel on I-95 with propane on board; use I-695 around Baltimore instead. Most local roads are flat with low-clearance bridges marked clearly. Pro tip: many RVezy renters skip city driving entirely by choosing RV delivery Langley Park, then base out of a quiet campground and take Metro from Greenbelt Station into DC.
roads.maryland.gov/Index.aspx

What hookups and amenities will I find at local campgrounds?

You'll have everything you need within a short drive. Cherry Hill Park in College Park offers full 30/50-amp hookups, water, sewer, Wi-Fi, a pool, and an on-site DC shuttle. Greenbelt Park Campground is primitive (no hookups at sites) but has flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and a dump station near the entrance. Capitol KOA in Millersville has full-hookup pull-throughs. Where to park an RV in Langley Park overnight legally is at one of these campgrounds, since Maryland prohibits overnight stays at state rest areas (3-hour limit). Pro tip: dump and fill fresh water at Greenbelt before heading west to Shenandoah's primitive Big Meadows sites.
nps.gov/gree/planyourvisit/campground.htm

What's inside the RV? What amenities should I expect?

More than you'd think for the price. Most RVezy rentals near Langley Park come equipped with a queen or king bed plus convertible dinette beds (sleeping 2 to 8), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, roof AC, propane furnace, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many include a TV, Bluetooth speakers, outdoor camp chairs, and a generator for off-grid power; some offer Wi-Fi hotspots as an add-on. Each listing shows exact amenities, sleep count, and seatbelt count. Pro tip: filter for 'Sleeps 6+' if you're planning a family RV trip Langley Park during cherry blossom season so everyone has a proper bed after long museum days.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Langley%20Park%2C%20Maryland

What add-ons can I get, and how do pickup and drop-off work?

Customizing your trip is easy. Popular RVezy add-ons in the Langley Park area include delivery and setup, generators, propane fills, camp kitchen kits, bedding and linen packages, outdoor mats, bikes, and pet fees, all listed with prices on the listing page. Pickup is usually at the host's home or a meeting point in the DC metro area, and Instant Book listings confirm your trip immediately. Mileage policies and any extra-day fees are spelled out before checkout, no surprises. Pro tip: message the host right after booking to confirm pickup time, dump-and-fuel return expectations, and any local route tips for your specific RV size.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106554-Delivery-options

How does payment and the security deposit work?

It's straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Langley Park on RVezy, payment is handled entirely through the platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, so you're protected end-to-end. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) and released after your trip ends, assuming the RV is returned in the same condition with the agreed fuel and tank levels. Cleaning fees, mileage overages, and any add-ons are itemized clearly during checkout. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video at pickup and drop-off so any questions about damage or cleanliness can be answered fast, keeping your deposit return smooth.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I take the RV into Washington, DC, or should I stay outside the city?

You absolutely can visit DC, just be smart about how. Driving a large motorhome rental Langley Park onto the National Mall isn't practical (height-restricted parking garages, no RV parking, narrow streets), but you have great workarounds. Park at Greenbelt Park Campground (6 miles from Langley Park) and ride the Metro Green Line from Greenbelt Station directly to the Smithsonian stop in about 25 minutes, or use Cherry Hill Park's daily DC shuttle. RFK Stadium's parking lots have historically allowed RV parking for events. Local insider tip: a one-day Metro SmarTrip pass plus a campground base beats fighting K Street traffic every single time, and you'll sleep under the stars instead of fluorescent hotel lights.
