Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Maryland?

Good news: for almost every RV you'll rent in North Laurel, your standard driver's license is all you need. Maryland only requires a non-commercial Class B license for motorhomes with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,001 pounds, and virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and fifth wheel on RVezy falls well under that threshold. You'll also need to be at least 25 years old to book on RVezy, and your ID is verified securely through the platform during checkout. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. Most first-time renters are amazed how quick the approval process is.

What protection and roadside assistance is included with my booking?

Every RV rental in North Laurel includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit I-95 or the Baltimore-Washington Parkway with peace of mind. During checkout you choose the protection level that fits your trip, and that plan covers eligible damage to the RV up to the plan limits. Roadside help is built in, meaning if you get a flat on the way to Assateague Island or have a battery issue at your campsite, one call gets a technician dispatched. That bundled support is one of the biggest reasons first-timers feel confident booking a motorhome rental in North Laurel rather than buying their own rig.

What is the cancellation policy if my plans change?

Booking your North Laurel RV trip is low-risk because RVezy sets a standardized cancellation policy, not individual hosts, and it includes a grace period right after you book during which you can cancel for a full refund. Refund eligibility after that window depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host needs to cancel on you, RVezy works with you on a refund or rebooking credit. If something unexpected comes up, reach out to RVezy support and they will walk you through your options. Pro tip: book early to lock in popular summer dates for the Eastern Shore, knowing flexibility is built into the platform if plans shift.

Cross-border trips into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and insurance coverage, so message the host before booking if Canada is on your itinerary. There are convenient fueling stops along US-1 in Laurel and at the truck-friendly Royal Farms and Sheetz stations off I-95 (Exits 38 and 41). National Park Service campgrounds (Greenbelt Park, Assateague) use Recreation.gov with a 6-month rolling window. Weekday and shoulder-season trips often have last-minute openings. What's the driving like around North Laurel for an RV?

Driving an RV around North Laurel is very manageable once you know the local landscape. I-95, the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (BW Parkway), and US-1 are the main arteries; note that the BW Parkway (MD-295) prohibits commercial vehicles, but personal RVs are generally fine. Avoid the inner DC streets and watch low clearances on the older BW Parkway bridges (some as low as 10 feet 6 inches). Stick to I-95, I-495 (Capital Beltway), and I-70 for the most RV-friendly routes. Traffic peaks weekdays 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m., so plan departures outside rush hour. Nervous about city driving? Book delivery and skip it entirely. You're also just 30 minutes from open countryside heading west on I-70.

Campgrounds around North Laurel range from full-service RV resorts to rustic state park sites, so you can pick what fits your trip. Cherry Hill Park offers full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric), Wi-Fi, a pool, laundry, and a camp store. Patapsco Valley State Park has electric sites with potable water spigots and a centralized dump station. Greenbelt Park (NPS) is no-hookup but has restrooms, showers, and a dump station on site. Most Maryland state parks let you fill fresh water at the campground entrance and dump on your way out at no extra charge. Pro tip: if your rental's tanks are small, choose a full-hookup site for trips longer than three nights so you never have to break camp to dump.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment for your RV rental in Maryland is handled securely through the RVezy platform, so you never hand cash to the host. You will pay your booking total (rental, fees, protection, taxes) at checkout with a credit or debit card. A refundable security deposit is held separately by RVezy before your trip starts; amounts vary by RV but commonly range from $500 to $1,500. As long as you return the RV on time, with the agreed fuel and tank levels, and without damage, the deposit is released back to your card after the trip ends. Pro tip: take a quick walk-around video at pickup and drop-off and share it with your host to avoid any deposit disputes.

Where can I dump waste and refill fresh water near North Laurel?

You've got several convenient dump and fill stations within easy reach of North Laurel. Cherry Hill Park in College Park (about 20 minutes south) offers a public dump station and potable water fill for a small fee even if you're not staying there. Patapsco Valley State Park has a free dump station for registered campers near the Hollofield Area. Bar Harbor RV Park in Abingdon (about 40 minutes northeast) and Ramblin' Pines in Woodbine also welcome travelers needing services. Most truck stops along I-95 (like the Maryland House service plaza) have water but not dump facilities, so plan around campground stops. Pro tip: dump on your way home rather than at the end of your trip, so you arrive back in Laurel with empty tanks and a quick return.
