Top notch experience! Kyle and his camper are both first class. The camper itself is gorgeous- plenty of room for my wife and I, daughter, son in law and grandson. This is a first class rig packed with all the goodies. Having 2 bathrooms was a big plus with 4 adults! We liked that it was chock full of cleaning supplies- Swiffer, cordless vac, etc. we could use daily just to spruce up. As far as Kyle goes- fantastic communicator, not only on drop off day but also leading up to the rental. A great experience all and all and we are looking forward to booking this camper for next year!

What license do I need to rent an RV in Pulaski, NY?

Good news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Pulaski, NY. New York State does not require a special license or commercial driver's license (CDL) for any motorhome you can book on RVezy, whether it's a nimble Class B campervan or a 32-foot Class C. You'll just need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from overseas? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto club before you fly in. With the paperwork sorted, you're free to focus on the fun part: planning your Salmon River adventure.

Is RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included for my Pulaski trip?

Yes, and that is one of the best parts of booking an RV rental in Pulaski through RVezy: every booking automatically includes a protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance. The protection plan helps cover damage to the RV, giving you real peace of mind without the complexity of arranging a separate policy. During checkout, you choose the level of coverage that fits your trip, so you stay in control. If you get a flat on Route 13 heading to Selkirk Shores or need a battery jump at a Salmon River pull-off, help is one phone call away. That is confidence built right into your booking.

What happens if I need to cancel my Pulaski RV rental?

Booking your RV trip in Pulaski is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every booking includes a money-back grace period right after you book, so if plans change quickly, you are protected. Beyond that window, the refund amount depends on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start date. Unexpected events like severe weather, which can include Lake Ontario lake-effect storms, may also be considered. Full details are on the RVezy Help Center, and the support team can walk you through your options. Bottom line: it is safe to grab that fall salmon-run weekend before listings fill up.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Pulaski?

Absolutely, and your dog will love it. Plenty of hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in Pulaski for families who do not want to leave their best friend behind. Just use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see eligible listings, and message the host beforehand if you have a larger breed or multiple pets. Once you arrive, leashed dogs are welcome on many trails at Selkirk Shores State Park along Lake Ontario, and several Salmon River access points are dog-friendly too. Pro tip: pack a long lead so your dog can relax along the riverbank while you cast a line. Pulaski is one of the most dog-welcoming fishing towns in upstate New York.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Pulaski?

Yes, RV delivery in Pulaski is one of the smartest moves for first-time renters and anglers who would rather focus on fishing than backing into a site. Many RVezy hosts will deliver the motorhome or travel trailer directly to Selkirk Shores State Park, Brennan Beach RV Resort, or a Salmon River area campground, set it up, level it, connect hookups, and walk you through every system. Just filter by Delivery on RVezy and message the host with your campground name and site number. Most hosts charge a flat delivery fee based on distance. You arrive, your home-on-wheels is waiting, and your only job is unpacking the cooler.

How far can I travel from Pulaski on an RV road trip?

Quite far. Most RVezy hosts in Pulaski include a generous daily mileage allowance, and some even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is perfect for an RV road trip from Pulaski. Popular nearby destinations include Watertown and the Thousand Islands (about 45 miles north on I-81), Syracuse (about 40 miles south), the Finger Lakes near Skaneateles (about 75 miles southwest), Niagara Falls (around 170 miles west), and the Adirondacks Old Forge area (about 90 miles east). Each listing clearly displays the included mileage and the per-mile fee for any overage, so there are no surprises. Pro tip: map your full route before booking and message the host if you are planning a big loop, many will accommodate extra miles.

What are the best campgrounds near Pulaski for RV camping?

You are spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Pulaski. Selkirk Shores State Park on Lake Ontario is the local favorite for its bluff-top sites, sunsets, and electric hookups, and reservations open up to nine months ahead through ReserveAmerica. Brennan Beach RV Resort offers a large selection of lakeside sites with a sandy beach right on Lake Ontario. Salmon River Family Campground puts you near the Pineville fishing pool. Several private campgrounds sit directly on the Salmon River for anglers who want to fish before coffee. Pro tip: book state park sites the day reservations open for September weekends, they sell out fast.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Pulaski?

Pulaski has four distinct seasons, and the best time depends on what you are chasing. Summers (late June through August) are warm, with highs typically in the upper 70s to low 80s F, perfect for Lake Ontario beach days and smallmouth bass on the Salmon River. The famous Chinook and Coho salmon run typically hits from early September through late October, the busiest time to visit. Steelhead season runs roughly October through April for cold-weather anglers. Winters are very snowy (Pulaski sits in the Tug Hill snowbelt and averages well over 200 inches of snowfall), so most campgrounds close from November through April. Shoulder seasons offer the best value for a peaceful Pulaski RV trip.

I have never driven an RV before. Is renting in Pulaski beginner-friendly?

Yes, and first time renting an RV in Pulaski is easier than most people imagine. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, covering the generator, water system, slide-outs, leveling, and dump procedures, so you are never left guessing. Pulaski main roads (I-81, Route 11, and Route 13) are wide, well-maintained, and far less stressful than navigating Syracuse or larger metro areas. If you are nervous, choose a smaller Class B campervan or a 22 to 25-foot Class C, both of which drive much like an oversized van. Even better, book a host who offers delivery to your campground so your first time behind the wheel is just the short drive home.

What if something goes wrong with the RV during my Pulaski trip?

You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether you have a flat heading to a Salmon River pool, a dead battery at Brennan Beach, or a propane issue late at night, one phone call gets help dispatched. Your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app and usually knows the quirks of their specific RV better than anyone. For bigger questions, RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after every trip. Pulaski has reliable cell coverage along I-81 and Route 11, and the village has hardware and auto parts stores. Translation: minor hiccups will not derail your trip.

Can I take my Pulaski RV rental into Canada?

Sometimes yes, but it depends on the specific host and their insurance terms. Pulaski sits about 90 minutes from the Thousand Islands Bridge crossing into Ontario, making a Kingston or Ottawa side-trip tempting. Some RVezy hosts allow cross-border travel into Canada with prior approval, while others restrict their RV to U.S. roads only. Message the host directly from the listing page before booking to confirm. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental, since insurance and the protection plan do not extend there. You will also need a valid passport (or accepted travel document) and to declare the rental at the border. Pro tip: filter listings, then ask hosts upfront, many will say yes.

How much will fuel cost on my Pulaski RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable in your budget, but it is manageable. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (typically 10 to 14 mpg loaded), and Class B campervans can hit 18 to 20 mpg. New York gas prices tend to run slightly above the national average. For a typical Pulaski-to-Thousand Islands round trip of about 90 miles, expect to spend roughly $30 to $55 in fuel depending on your rig. Pro tip: fill up at the Flying J or Pilot just south on I-81 in Cicero before heading north, prices in the village of Pulaski itself can be a bit higher.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Pulaski?

For salmon-run weekends in September and early October, book your campsite the moment New York State Parks opens its reservation window, which is nine months ahead at Selkirk Shores State Park through ReserveAmerica. Brennan Beach RV Resort and private campgrounds along the Salmon River also fill quickly for fall, so aim for 4 to 6 months out. Summer family weekends typically sell out 2 to 3 months in advance, while spring steelhead trips usually have availability 2 to 4 weeks out. Pro tip: if you strike out on a weekend, try a Sunday-through-Thursday stay, you will find open sites, lower rates, and the river practically to yourself.

What are driving conditions like around Pulaski?

For a small town, Pulaski is refreshingly easy to drive. I-81 is the main artery and runs north-south right past town with wide lanes and easy RV-friendly exits. Route 11 through the village center is flat and straight, though parking a big rig downtown during salmon season can be tight, so consider parking at the Haldane Community Center lot. The biggest local hazard is lake-effect snow off Lake Ontario from late November through March, which can produce sudden whiteout conditions, another reason most renters visit between May and October. Watch for anglers crossing roads near bridges on South Jefferson and Salina Streets in September. Pro tip: check 511NY before you drive for real-time road conditions.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Pulaski?

Most Pulaski-area campgrounds are well-equipped for motorhome rental in Pulaski guests. Selkirk Shores State Park offers electric hookups at many sites, a fresh-water fill station, a dump station, hot showers, and flush restrooms, though most sites do not have individual water hookups. Brennan Beach and Salmon River Family Campground typically offer full hookups (water, electric, sewer) plus laundry and Wi-Fi. Most private campgrounds along the Salmon River have on-site dump stations and potable water fills, so you can arrive with empty tanks and leave with empty tanks. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank at the Selkirk Shores filling station on your way in if your campground does not offer water at the site.

What is actually inside the RVs available for rent in Pulaski?

More than you might expect. RVs available for campervan rental in Pulaski come fully equipped to live comfortably for a week or longer. You can expect a queen or king bed plus convertible dinette and bunk options (most sleep 4 to 8), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with both air conditioning and propane furnace (essential for chilly fall nights along the Salmon River), and a generator or solar for off-grid power. Many listings also include outdoor chairs, a propane grill, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Each RVezy listing shows exactly what is included with photos, so you will know precisely what you are getting before you book.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Pulaski,%20New%20York

What add-ons and options can I get with my Pulaski RV rental?

Lots of options to customize your trip. Common add-ons from RVezy hosts in Pulaski include linen and bedding packages, kitchen kits, generator use (sometimes per-hour), bike racks, kayak or fishing rod carriers, propane fills, and tank dumping at return. Many hosts also offer Pulaski-specific extras like firewood bundles and fishing gear suited to Salmon River anglers. Pickup is typically at the host home in Pulaski or a nearby town such as Oswego, Watertown, or Syracuse, and most hosts allow flexible mid-day windows. Each listing clearly states the included mileage and the per-mile overage charge, so it is easy to budget. Bundle add-ons when you book to lock in the best total price.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and fully handled through the secure RVezy platform, with no cash exchanges with the host. When you book, you pay the rental cost using a credit or debit card. A separate refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card (not charged) shortly before your trip starts, and it is released back to you after return as long as the RV comes back in the same condition you got it. The deposit amount varies by RV and is shown on the listing page before you book, so there are no surprises. Pro tip: take dated photos and a quick video walkaround at pickup and return, it is the easiest way to keep your full deposit.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I rent an RV in Pulaski in winter for ice fishing or snowmobiling?

Yes, and Pulaski in winter is a hidden gem for adventurous renters. Sitting on the edge of the Tug Hill Plateau, Pulaski regularly receives 200-plus inches of snow annually, making it a snowmobiling destination, plus steelhead fishing on the Salmon River runs all winter long. Look for RVezy listings marked as four-season or winter-ready, which typically include heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, propane furnaces, and shore-power connections for sub-freezing temperatures. Some campgrounds in the Pulaski area remain open year-round, confirm directly with the campground before booking. Pro tip: ask the host about winterization specifics and confirm the RV has a working furnace and skirting before pointing your rig toward the trails.
