We had such a fantastic time in this RV. It was in ideal size for our family of 5. We travelled from Maryland, through ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. It was nice to drive and didn't feel too big. Clean throughout and no major issues. The host was very helpful and responded super quick to queries. We hope to rent again in the future.

Scott answered all my questions before I rented as I had never operated an RV. We were embarking on a 2 week trip and decided to try out a small RV van. Scott went over everything before we left and was available by phone for any questions I had while on the road. The van was clean and comfy and had plenty of power to get us up and down the mountain roads. Everything operated smoothly. We did have a slight problem with the AC unit but Scott but Scott was able to find an RV service business that was along our planned route and was able to fix it quickly so we could continue our trip without a change of plans.

On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers starting around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes around $175 to $275, and larger Class A coaches between $250 and $425. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Chapel Hill?

Great news for first-timers: a regular Class D driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Chapel Hill. Tennessee law specifically exempts recreational vehicles from Commercial Driver License (CDL) requirements, even for the largest motorhomes on the road. You'll just need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the platform during booking. Visiting from another state or country? Tennessee honors out-of-state and international licenses, so bring your home license (plus an International Driving Permit if you're coming from abroad) and you're ready to roll toward Henry Horton State Park.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Chapel Hill?

Yes, RV delivery in Chapel Hill is one of the best perks of booking peer-to-peer. Many hosts will drive the RV straight to Henry Horton State Park or your driveway in nearby Spring Hill or Columbia, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. It's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV or you don't want to drive a 30-foot motorhome through Nashville traffic. Filter by delivery on RVezy and ask the host about their delivery radius, most cover 30 to 60 miles around Chapel Hill.

How far can I drive? Do RVezy rentals offer unlimited mileage?

You have plenty of road ahead of you. Many Chapel Hill hosts offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage, while others provide generous daily allowances of 100 to 150 miles with any extra miles clearly priced upfront on the listing. From Chapel Hill you're about 50 miles to downtown Nashville, 25 miles to Lynchburg's Jack Daniel's Distillery, 110 miles to Chattanooga, and roughly 250 miles east to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Pro tip: if you're planning a long RV road trip from Chapel Hill toward the Smokies or Memphis (about 220 miles west), filter for unlimited mileage listings to skip per-mile math entirely.

Where should I camp during my Chapel Hill RV trip?

Top picks: Henry Horton State Park (about 7 miles away, with water and 20/30/50 amp electric and riverside sites along the Duck River), private RV parks in nearby Columbia offering full hookups and pull-thru sites with 50-amp service, and Heritage Campground near Ethridge as a base for visiting Amish farms. For RV camping in Chapel Hill closer to Music City, options around Smyrna and Murfreesboro are about 35 to 45 minutes north. When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Chapel Hill?

Spring and fall are the sweet spots. April through early June brings comfortable highs in the 70s to mid-80s, blooming dogwoods, and ideal Duck River paddling weather. Mid-September through late October delivers cool nights, hardwood color, and fewer crowds at Henry Horton State Park. July and August get hot and humid with highs near 90 degrees, so plan for shaded sites and full hookups for AC. Winters are mild by northern standards with January highs in the upper 40s, and most local campgrounds stay open year-round. Pro tip: aim for Mule Day in nearby Columbia each April for a true Middle Tennessee experience.

I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay?

You'll do great, and you won't be left to figure it out alone. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the generator, slide-outs, water, propane, and dump procedures so nothing feels mysterious. Chapel Hill is one of the easier places in Tennessee to learn: rural two-lane roads, light traffic, and short drives to flat, paved campgrounds like Henry Horton State Park make it ideal for first time renting an RV. If city driving worries you, have the host deliver and pick up the RV. Pro tip: do your first fuel stop at a Pilot or Love's travel center on I-65 where the lanes are RV-sized.

What happens if something breaks down during my trip?

Take a breath, you're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so if you get a flat on Highway 31, lock your keys inside at Henry Horton, or have a generator hiccup at a Columbia RV park, one phone call dispatches help. Your host is also just a text message away through the RVezy app and usually knows the quirks of their own RV better than anyone. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a few photos of the RV's hookups during your walkthrough so troubleshooting over the phone is faster.

Can I take my Chapel Hill RV across state lines?

Yes, interstate travel is absolutely fine and is what makes Tennessee such a fantastic RV launching pad. From Chapel Hill you can roll into Kentucky (Mammoth Cave is about 130 miles north), Alabama (Huntsville is about 80 miles south), Georgia, North Carolina's Great Smokies, or Mississippi without any special paperwork. Cross-border travel to Canada may be allowed depending on the specific RV and host, so message them before booking. One important note: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: a classic 7-day loop from Chapel Hill hits Nashville, Mammoth Cave, and Lynchburg, perfect for a family RV trip Chapel Hill style.

How should I budget for fuel on a Chapel Hill RV trip?

Tennessee gas prices are typically among the lower in the country, which helps stretch your RV road trip from Chapel Hill. Expect Class C motorhomes to get 8 to 10 mpg, Class A coaches 6 to 8 mpg, campervans 14 to 18 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Check current Tennessee average gas prices on the EIA website before your trip, then estimate a 250-mile weekend loop through Lynchburg's Jack Daniel's Distillery accordingly. Pro tip: fill up just off I-65 in Cornersville or Lewisburg, where prices are often a bit cheaper than tourist stops closer to Nashville.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground?

Plan ahead and you'll get the best sites. Henry Horton State Park, the crown jewel near Chapel Hill, releases reservations up to 12 months out through the official Tennessee State Parks reservation system, and summer weekends often book 3 to 6 months in advance. Private parks in Columbia and along the Duck River are usually bookable 2 to 4 weeks ahead, except during Bonnaroo (mid-June in nearby Manchester) and CMA Fest in Nashville, when you'll want to book 6 months out. Pro tip: weekday arrivals almost always have availability, so a Sunday-to-Thursday Chapel Hill RV trip can be planned just days ahead.

What are the local roads like for driving an RV around Chapel Hill?

Chapel Hill's roads are refreshingly RV-friendly. You'll mostly travel rolling two-lane state highways like 31A and 99 through gentle limestone hills, with elevations roughly between 650 and 850 feet, no mountain passes to worry about. I-65 runs just west of town and offers easy big-rig access to Nashville and Huntsville. Watch for occasional Amish horse-and-buggy traffic if you detour toward Ethridge, slow down and pass with plenty of room. Summer afternoon thunderstorms can roll through quickly, so check radar before driving. Pro tip: avoid I-65 northbound through Nashville between 3 and 6 p.m. on weekdays, and consider a loop via Highway 96 east toward Murfreesboro instead.
tn.gov/tdot.html

What amenities do campgrounds near Chapel Hill offer?

Most campgrounds near Chapel Hill are well-equipped. Henry Horton State Park offers water and 20/30/50 amp electric hookups (no sewer at sites, but a dump station is on site), Wi-Fi in common areas, hot showers in bathhouses, a camp store, and firewood for sale. Private parks in Columbia and along the Duck River provide full hookups including sewer, 50-amp service, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Potable water fill-up stations are available at most parks, and Henry Horton's dump station easily accommodates larger rigs. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot sewer hose and a water pressure regulator, older Tennessee parks sometimes have high municipal water pressure that can damage RV plumbing.

What features and equipment come with a typical Chapel Hill RV rental?

Plenty of comfort comes standard. A typical motorhome rental in Chapel Hill includes a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink; a private bathroom with shower and toilet; queen or king beds with bunks or convertible dinettes that sleep 4 to 8; air conditioning and furnace; a TV (often with DVD or streaming); and seatbelts for everyone riding. Most Class A and Class C rigs include a generator for boondocking, and many campervan rental Chapel Hill options have solar panels too. Pro tip: check the listing photos and amenity list, then message your host about specifics like a coffee maker, outdoor speakers, or e-bikes you might want included.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Chapel%20Hill%2C%20Tennessee

What add-ons and options can I get with my rental?

Hosts love making your trip easier. Common add-ons for an RV rental in Tennessee include delivery and setup ($75 to $300 depending on distance), generator usage (often $3 to $5 per hour above a daily allowance), bedding and kitchen kits ($25 to $75 flat), camp chairs and outdoor rugs, propane refill service, bike racks, and even kayaks for hitting the Duck River. Pickup is usually at the host's address or your campground, and most hosts plan a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough window. Mileage policies vary by listing (some unlimited, some 100 to 150 miles per day), and everything is clearly priced before you book. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and bedding for a true plug-and-play first trip.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Chapel%20Hill%2C%20Tennessee

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay the full booking total through RVezy's platform when you book (never directly to the host), which covers rental nights, fees, your chosen protection plan, and any add-ons. A refundable security deposit is held separately during your trip to cover small incidentals like a missing piece of equipment or extra cleaning, and it's released back after a successful return. The amount varies by listing and is clearly shown before you confirm. Pro tip: do a video walkthrough with the host at pickup and dropoff and take timestamped photos of the RV's condition, this is the easiest way to ensure your full deposit comes back fast.
