Diego was great!. Was my first time renting a traveling trailer and using the site. I was a little nervous to rent cause you dont know what will happen. I didnt calculate the correct size truck for the trailer. Diego was a problem solver and helped me solve my issue. He went out of his way to deliver the trailer to the campsite and pick it up when done. He did a lot more to accommodate the situation and went above and beyond to make this trip meaningful. I had two family members pass away last year, and extended family for the first time planned this camping trip together and it was very important we went and that I had a trailer for my family of 6. Diego made sure the trip went through and got the rental up there for us. Means a lot! I see why he is a super host and is just a great soul. Thanks Diego we will be renting from you again and again.

We had a wonderful time staying in this RV for our Lagoon trip. Everything was setup up beautifully when we arrived and felt very inviting - little details like nice decor and the outdoor setup with a large rug and nice camp chairs made a noticeable difference. The rv was very clean and all beds made meticulously (we have not had this experience with all rentals - oftentimes the bunks are not made and/or sheets not provided when we were told sheets included). Appreciate Lincoln being responsive but at the same time very laid back (not 100s of questions as we have had before, adding stress). Would definitely rent again!

Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and protection plan, so confirm directly with the host through the listing before booking if that's your plan. One important note: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because the insurance coverage doesn't extend across the border. Pro tip: a classic RV road trip from Sunset is Yellowstone via Logan and Idaho Falls, about 320 miles north and absolutely worth the drive, just check fall weather since passes can ice over early.

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I expect?

Budgeting fuel for your Sunset RV trip is straightforward. Class C motorhomes typically get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, Class A rigs 6 to 10 mpg, and campervan rentals from Sunset can hit 15 to 20 mpg. Utah gas prices in the Salt Lake metro generally run a bit below the national average, often $3.20 to $3.80 per gallon for regular, with diesel slightly higher. Most Class A and C RVs hold 50 to 80 gallons, so a fill-up on the way out of town might run $200 to $300. Pro tip: top off in Layton or Roy before heading into Antelope Island or the Wasatch backcountry, prices climb the further you get from I-15.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far ahead should I book a campground for my Sunset RV trip?

For the best campgrounds near Sunset, plan to book 3 to 4 months ahead for summer weekends and holidays. Utah State Parks like Antelope Island and Willard Bay open reservations 4 months in advance through stateparks.utah.gov, and they fill fast for May through September. National forest sites at Anderson Cove and South Fork along the Ogden River release through Recreation.gov 6 months out. Private parks like Cherry Hill in Kaysville accept reservations almost a year ahead for their busiest July weekends. Midweek and shoulder season trips are much easier to plan last-minute. Pro tip: if a weekend is fully booked, check again 7 days before, cancellations are common and you can score prime sites just before your trip.
recreation.gov/

What are local driving conditions like around Sunset?

Driving an RV in and out of Sunset is very manageable. I-15 runs right through Davis County with wide lanes and plenty of truck stops in Layton and Clearfield for fueling up. Within town, Highway 193 and Antelope Drive are flat and easy. Watch for afternoon crosswinds on the causeway out to Antelope Island, and for snow and ice November through March on canyon roads like US-89 to Ogden or Trappers Loop (SR-167). Summer thunderstorms can roll off the Wasatch quickly, so check UDOT's road conditions site before heading into the mountains. Pro tip: avoid I-15 southbound between 4 and 6 p.m. on weekdays heading toward Salt Lake, leave mid-morning and you'll cruise straight to your campground.
udot.utah.gov/connect/public/road-conditions/

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Sunset?

Campgrounds near Sunset offer a great range of amenities. Private parks like Cherry Hill Camping Resort and Century RV Park have full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric), Wi-Fi, laundry, and showers. Utah State Parks at Antelope Island and Willard Bay generally provide partial hookups (water and electric) plus modern restrooms, dump stations, and potable water fill stations. National forest sites at Anderson Cove are more rustic with vault toilets and no hookups, but they have potable water spigots and dump stations. Need to dump or fill mid-trip? The Maverik in Roy and the Flying J in Willard both offer public dump and fresh water. Pro tip: confirm your RV's amp service with the host so you know whether to reserve 30 or 50 amp sites.
stateparks.utah.gov/activities/camping/tent-rv/

What's included inside the RV itself?

You'll find your motorhome rental in Sunset surprisingly well-equipped. Most RVezy rigs come with a fully stocked kitchen (stove, microwave, fridge, cookware, dishes), a bathroom with toilet and shower, comfortable sleeping areas with linens often included as an add-on, a roof-mounted air conditioner, propane furnace, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many hosts include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor chairs, and a generator for boondocking at places like Antelope Island where there are no hookups. Wi-Fi hotspots, bike racks, and camping gear are common add-ons listed individually with clear pricing. Pro tip: ask your host whether the rig has heated holding tanks if you're booking a shoulder-season or winter trip into the Wasatch, it makes a big difference when nights dip below freezing.
nps.gov/brca/planyourvisit/camping.htm

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

RVezy hosts in Sunset offer a wide menu of add-ons to customize your trip. Common options include linen and kitchen packs ($30 to $75), camp chairs and outdoor tables ($15 to $40), generators ($25 to $50 per day), bike racks, paddleboards, and fully stocked kitchen kits. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Sunset, Clearfield, or Layton, with delivery available for an additional per-mile fee, especially handy if you're flying into Salt Lake City. Mileage policies vary by host (typically 100 to 150 free miles per night, with unlimited options available on some rigs). Pro tip: bundle add-ons at booking rather than adding them later, hosts often discount packages, and confirm pickup time so you have enough daylight to reach your first campground.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Booking is simple and secure on RVezy. You pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, and your total (rental, fees, protection, taxes, and any add-ons) is shown clearly before you confirm. A refundable security deposit is authorized on your card a few days before pickup, typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig, and released back to you after the trip assuming the RV is returned in good condition with no extra mileage or fuel charges. To avoid surprises, do a quick walkaround video at pickup and dropoff with your host. Pro tip: refill the propane and gas tanks to their pickup level before returning, and your full deposit will be back in your account within a few days.

Pro tip: add a stop at Golden Spike National Historical Park, just 50 miles north, where the transcontinental railroad was completed in 1869, it's a fascinating, uncrowded detour.
