Diego was great!. Was my first time renting a traveling trailer and using the site. I was a little nervous to rent cause you dont know what will happen. I didnt calculate the correct size truck for the trailer. Diego was a problem solver and helped me solve my issue. He went out of his way to deliver the trailer to the campsite and pick it up when done. He did a lot more to accommodate the situation and went above and beyond to make this trip meaningful. I had two family members pass away last year, and extended family for the first time planned this camping trip together and it was very important we went and that I had a trailer for my family of 6. Diego made sure the trip went through and got the rental up there for us. Means a lot! I see why he is a super host and is just a great soul. Thanks Diego we will be renting from you again and again.

We had a wonderful time staying in this RV for our Lagoon trip. Everything was setup up beautifully when we arrived and felt very inviting - little details like nice decor and the outdoor setup with a large rug and nice camp chairs made a noticeable difference. The rv was very clean and all beds made meticulously (we have not had this experience with all rentals - oftentimes the bunks are not made and/or sheets not provided when we were told sheets included). Appreciate Lincoln being responsive but at the same time very laid back (not 100s of questions as we have had before, adding stress). Would definitely rent again!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in West Point, UT

How much does it cost to rent an RV in West Point, UT?

RV rental in West Point is genuinely affordable compared to coastal cities. Motorhome rentals average around $200 per night, while towable trailers run closer to $120 per night, and many hosts offer 10 to 20 percent discounts on weekly or monthly bookings. For a cheap RV rental in West Point, look at travel trailers (towable with a midsize SUV or pickup) or book in the shoulder seasons of April, May, September, and October when demand drops. Pro tip: book Sunday through Thursday departures whenever possible, since weekend pickups during summer along the Wasatch Front can carry premium pricing.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in West Point, Utah?

A standard Utah driver's license (or any valid US or Canadian license) is all you need to rent an RV in West Point. No commercial driver's license, RV endorsement, or special class is required for Class A, Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, or fifth wheel rentals on RVezy. You must be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking, so the process takes just a few minutes. Visiting from overseas? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home-country license. First-time renters in Utah are often surprised how straightforward this part is.

What protection is included when I rent an RV in West Point?

Every RVezy booking in West Point comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built right in, so you can hit I-15 toward Antelope Island or head east to the Wasatch with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your level of coverage during checkout. It is not traditional auto insurance, but it provides meaningful financial protection if something unexpected happens. With RVezy support reachable before, during, and after your trip, a first-time motorhome rental in West Point feels a lot less intimidating.

Can I cancel my West Point RV rental if my plans change?

Yes, you can cancel, and RVezy offers a standard cancellation policy on every booking, including a money-back grace period right after you book. RVezy (not individual hosts) manages cancellation terms, which means you get a consistent, predictable experience whether you are renting a campervan for a weekend on Antelope Island or a Class C for a two-week Utah loop. The exact refund amount depends on how close you are to your trip start date, so review your booking details and reach out to RVezy support if anything changes. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will refund the booking or provide credits.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in West Point?

Absolutely, plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental in West Point, and bringing your dog along is one of the best parts of a Utah road trip. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly see motorhomes and trailers that welcome pets, then check each listing for any pet fees or deposits the host has set. Once you're on the road, you'll love that Antelope Island State Park allows leashed dogs on most trails and beaches, and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail just east of West Point is a favorite for sunset walks with a four-legged co-pilot. Pack a tie-out, water bowl, and a copy of vaccination records.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in West Point?

Yes, RV delivery in West Point is one of the most popular add-ons, and it is a game-changer if you are nervous about driving a big rig through Davis County for the first time. Many hosts will deliver and set up the RV at your campground, a friend's driveway, or a staging spot near Hill Air Force Base, then walk you through every system before they leave. Popular delivery destinations include Antelope Island's Bridger Bay Campground, Willard Bay State Park, and Cherry Hill Camp-Resort in Kaysville. Delivery fees are set by each host based on distance and RV type, so message the host directly from their listing to confirm a quote before you book.

How far can I drive on my West Point RV rental and are there mileage limits?

You have plenty of room to roam. Most hosts in West Point include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 miles per day) with additional miles available at a small per-mile rate, and some listings even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer trips. For a sense of scale: Salt Lake City is about 25 miles south, Park City sits around 50 miles southeast, Logan is 60 miles north, and Bear Lake is roughly 130 miles northeast. A West Point RV trip to Yellowstone's west entrance runs about 320 miles. Each listing spells out mileage rules clearly, so pick the package that matches your itinerary.

Where are the best campgrounds near West Point, UT?

You're spoiled for choice on this one. Within 30 to 60 minutes of West Point, the top picks for RV camping in West Point include Bridger Bay Campground at Antelope Island State Park (bison sightings and Great Salt Lake sunsets), Willard Bay State Park's Cottonwood and Willow campgrounds (lakeside sites with full hookups, about 20 miles north), Cherry Hill Camp-Resort in Kaysville (family-friendly with a water park next door), Century RV Park in Ogden (convenient I-15 access), and Hyrum State Park up in Cache Valley. Insider tip: Antelope Island can be windy and shadeless, so request a site with a windbreak and bring extra stakes for awnings.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from West Point?

The sweet spot for an RV road trip from West Point is mid-May through mid-October, with late May, June, and September being absolutely ideal. Summer highs in July and August climb into the upper 80s and low 90s with very dry air, while shoulder months bring 60s and 70s, fewer crowds, and stunning fall colors in the Wasatch canyons. Winters are cold (lows in the 20s) with snow and occasional valley inversions, so November through March is better suited to experienced cold-weather campers or quick trips to nearby ski-town basecamps. Pro tip: early June hits the perfect balance of mild weather and pre-July-4th availability.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving in the West Point area?

Yes, and you are in a great place to start. First time renting an RV? West Point's grid-style streets, flat terrain along the Great Salt Lake plain, and easy I-15 access make it one of the more forgiving launchpads in Utah. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup, covering the generator, water systems, slide-outs, and dump procedures, and you can message them throughout your trip with questions. Start with a shorter rig like a Class C motorhome or a 20 to 25 foot travel trailer, plan your first drive during daylight, and avoid rush hour on I-15 between Layton and Salt Lake City (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.).
udot.utah.gov/connect/public/traveler-information/

What happens if I break down during my West Point RV trip?

You are never stranded. Every RVezy rental in West Point includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so if you get a flat on I-15, a dead battery at Bridger Bay, or a mechanical issue heading up Weber Canyon, one phone call gets help dispatched. RVezy's support team is also reachable around the clock for anything that is not a roadside fix, and your host is typically just a text away with tips on the specific quirks of their rig. Save the RVezy support number and your host's contact info to your phone before you leave Davis County, and you are covered for whatever the road throws at you.

What are the best road trip destinations from West Point, UT?

You're sitting on one of the best launch pads in the Mountain West. Popular routes for an RV road trip from West Point include Bear Lake (130 miles, about 2.5 hours northeast, famous for raspberry shakes and turquoise water), Park City and the Uinta Mountains (60 to 90 miles southeast), Grand Teton National Park (280 miles, roughly 5 hours north), Yellowstone's west entrance (320 miles), and southern Utah's Mighty Five via Capitol Reef (about 220 miles south). Crossing into Idaho or Wyoming is fully allowed on RVezy rentals, but Mexico travel isn't covered. Pro tip: Logan Canyon Scenic Byway (US-89 north) is a stunning, less-traveled alternative for reaching Bear Lake.

What should I budget for fuel on a West Point RV rental?

Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the rental itself, but it's easy to plan for. Utah gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and West Point has plenty of large-vehicle-friendly stations along I-15 and the 2000 W corridor (Maverik, Costco in Layton, and Love's Travel Stop in Perry are local favorites). Expect roughly 8 to 10 mpg for Class A motorhomes, 10 to 14 mpg for Class C, 18 to 22 mpg for Class B campervans, and 10 to 15 mpg combined for trucks pulling travel trailers. For a 500-mile loop through northern Utah in a Class C, budget around $180 to $220 in fuel.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near West Point?

Book early and you'll thank yourself. For Utah State Parks like Antelope Island, Willard Bay, and Hyrum, reservations open 4 months in advance through the official Utah State Parks reservation system, and prime summer weekends (especially Memorial Day through Labor Day) sell out within minutes of the booking window opening. Private parks like Cherry Hill in Kaysville and KOAs in the region take reservations up to a year out. Insider tip: set a calendar reminder for exactly 4 months before your target weekend at 8 a.m. Mountain Time and have your account logged in. For weekday stays in shoulder season, two to three weeks of lead time is usually plenty.
stateparks.utah.gov/resources/reservations/

What are driving conditions like around West Point and northern Utah?

Driving around West Point is genuinely friendly for RVs. The valley floor is flat, roads are wide, and I-15 is the main artery north to Ogden and south to Salt Lake City. Watch for crosswinds on the causeway out to Antelope Island and along the Great Salt Lake (especially in spring), gusts can push high-profile rigs around, so reduce speed when winds top 25 mph. Winter brings snow and ice in canyons like Weber, Ogden, and Parley's, and chain or traction-tire requirements occasionally apply on mountain passes. Avoid rush hour on I-15 (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.) and check UDOT's traveler info site before heading into the Uintas or up to ski country.
udot.utah.gov/connect/public/traveler-information/

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near West Point?

Most campgrounds within an hour of West Point offer the full hookup experience you'd hope for. Antelope Island's Bridger Bay has water, vault toilets, and a nearby dump station; Willard Bay State Park offers 30 and 50 amp electric, water, and sewer at many sites; Cherry Hill in Kaysville has full hookups plus a swimming pool and water park; and Century RV Park in Ogden features concrete pads with full hookups. For dumping and freshwater fills between trips, Love's Travel Stop in Perry (about 25 miles north) and Flying J locations along I-15 offer dump stations for a small fee. Always confirm hookup amperage when booking, since older Class A rigs may need 50 amp service.
stateparks.utah.gov/parks/willard-bay/

What equipment and amenities come with an RV rental in West Point?

You'll be impressed by how turnkey most rentals are. A typical motorhome rental in West Point includes a queen or king bed, full kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge and freezer, a bathroom with shower and toilet, dinette that converts to extra sleeping, climate control (roof AC and furnace), and seatbelted seating for travel. Most hosts also include linens, towels, basic cookware, dishes, an outdoor camp chair set, and a starter supply of toilet paper for the RV-safe black tank. Many rigs offer a generator (great for boondocking on Antelope Island), and some include solar, backup cameras, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Each listing details exactly what's included, so you'll know before you book.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safety

What add-ons and pickup logistics should I know about for my West Point RV rental?

Hosts in West Point keep things flexible. Common add-ons include delivery and setup, generator hours, bedding and kitchen kits, camp chairs, bike racks, paddleboards, and propane refills, all priced by each host on their listing. Standard pickup and drop-off windows usually run between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and many hosts will stage the rig at a nearby location off I-15 or even meet you at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) for a small fee, about 30 miles south of West Point. Daily mileage allowances typically range from 100 to 150 miles with extra miles available, and most listings offer multi-night discounts. Message the host before booking to confirm anything specific.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=West%20Point%2C%20Utah

How does payment and the security deposit work on an RVezy rental in West Point?

The payment process is simple. You pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card (never directly to the host), and your booking is confirmed once payment is processed and the host accepts the request. A refundable security deposit is placed on hold against your card before pickup, with the exact amount shown on the listing. Typical deposits in the West Point area range from $500 to $1,500 depending on the size and value of the RV. As long as you return the rig clean, on time, with the same fuel level, and undamaged, the hold is released after your trip. Take time-stamped photos at pickup and drop-off to keep everything smooth.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I take my West Point RV rental into Canada or Mexico?

Heading north into Canada is often possible, while Mexico is not allowed on any RVezy rental due to insurance coverage limits. From West Point you are about 480 miles to the Canadian border at Sweetgrass, Montana, making a Glacier or Banff road trip realistic for a longer rental. Cross-border travel into Canada requires advance approval from your host, so message the host directly from the listing before booking to confirm. You will want your passport, proof of the rental agreement, and a completed pet health certificate if your dog is coming along. Most northern Utah rigs are well-equipped for mountain driving across the Idaho and Montana stretch.
