This was our first time renting an RV or camper van of any type. Clark made the experience great. Everything was on point and Clark went above and beyond. The van was very well appointed, comfortable, and reliable. The bed was very comfortable and Clark was quick to respond to any requests before and during the trip. He has a passion for his van and to be able to rent it was a pleasure.

Brandon was great to work with, very communicative. The RV was nice, we had 3 adults and 2 dogs and it had ample room. It was nice to have all the cooking utensils and pans, bowls, accessories we needed. We had the RV delivered and this was great, to load up and leave for our trip. Well worth it. I would recommend this RV and plan to rent from Brandon again. .

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Highland, UT
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Highland, Utah?
RV rental in Highland is more affordable than most travelers expect, with motorhomes typically averaging around $200 per night and towable trailers near $120 per night on RVezy. Many hosts offer weekly or monthly discounts, so a five day Wasatch Front trip often lands well under what a hotel plus car rental would cost. To find a cheap RV rental in Highland, filter by travel trailer, book midweek, and aim for shoulder season in late May or mid September when demand cools but the canyons are still gorgeous. Pro tip: message a host about flexible pickup days, a Tuesday to Saturday window often unlocks a better rate than peak Friday pickups.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Highland%2C%20UtahDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Highland, Utah?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Highland. Utah only requires a Commercial Driver License (CDL) for vehicles over 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, and RVs driven for personal recreation are exempt, so your standard Class D license covers everything from a nimble campervan to a 35 foot Class A motorhome. On RVezy, approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and ID verification happens inside the platform during checkout. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license and you are set. Most first time renters are surprised how quick and easy the process is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection comes with my Highland RV rental?
Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head into American Fork Canyon or out to the Uinta Mountains with real peace of mind. You choose your level of coverage during checkout, so you can match it to your comfort level and trip length. It is not traditional auto insurance, but it provides meaningful financial protection if something unexpected happens on your Highland RV trip. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers carefully before confirming, especially if you plan to tackle the Alpine Loop or other mountain routes where rock chips are part of the adventure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Highland RV trip?
Booking your RV rental in Highland is low risk because RVezy sets a consistent cancellation policy that applies platform wide, not one defined by individual hosts. There is a money back grace period right after booking, plus structured options based on how far out you cancel. You will see the full details during checkout and in your booking confirmation. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or provides travel credits so your trip plans stay protected. Pro tip: book early to lock in your dates and rig, then keep an eye on the forecast as your Highland RV trip approaches, RVezy support is available 7 days a week if your plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Highland RV rental?
Absolutely, plenty of hosts offer pet friendly RV rental in Highland. Just turn on the Pet Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see rigs whose owners welcome dogs, often with a small cleaning add on. Highland and the surrounding Utah County area are genuinely dog friendly: the Murdock Canal Trail runs right through town for morning walks, and leashed dogs are welcome on many Uinta Wasatch Cache National Forest trails near Tibble Fork Reservoir. Note that pets are not allowed on the Timpanogos Cave trail itself. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any breed or size details so your pup is locked in with no surprises.
nps.gov/tica/planyourvisit/pets.htmCan the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Highland?
Yes, RV delivery in Highland is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first timers. Many local hosts will drive the motorhome or trailer straight to your campsite at places like Granite Flat or Little Mill in American Fork Canyon, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees are set by the host based on distance and RV size, and you will see them clearly before booking. This is a game changer if the idea of backing a 30 foot rig into a forest site at 6,400 feet of elevation feels intimidating. Pro tip: ask about a return pickup too, many hosts bundle drop off and pickup for a flat rate.
fs.usda.gov/recarea/uwcnf/recarea/?recid=9136How far can I drive on a Highland RV rental, and what are the mileage rules?
You have serious road trip range from Highland, and mileage policies are set by each host so you will see the daily allowance and any overage rate right on the listing. Some hosts even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal for a big Utah loop. From Highland, Park City sits about 35 miles northeast, Salt Lake City is around 30 miles north on I-15, Moab and Arches National Park are roughly 230 miles southeast, Bryce Canyon is about 260 miles south, and Zion National Park is about 310 miles southwest. Pro tip: estimate your total mileage before booking and filter for unlimited mileage listings if you are planning a multi park southern Utah swing.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Highland%2C%20UtahWhere are the best campgrounds near Highland, Utah for an RV?
You are spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Highland. Granite Flat Campground sits up American Fork Canyon at about 6,800 feet near Tibble Fork Reservoir, with paved spurs and aspen groves. Little Mill Campground hugs the American Fork River and is close to Timpanogos Cave National Monument. Timpooneke sits higher along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway, perfect for cooler summer nights. For full hookups, private RV parks in nearby Provo, Pleasant Grove, and American Fork offer 30 and 50 amp service, dump stations, and Wi Fi. Pro tip: rigs over 30 feet should skip the upper Alpine Loop and stick to Granite Flat or valley parks.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232230When is the best time to visit Highland, Utah in an RV?
The sweet spot for a Highland RV trip runs from mid May through mid June and again from early September through mid October, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 60s to upper 70s and the canyons are either bursting with wildflowers or glowing with fall color. July and August bring hot, dry days near 85 to 90 degrees, great for reservoir swims but warm in lower elevation parks. American Fork Canyon campgrounds at higher elevations stay noticeably cooler all summer. Winter brings real snow, with January highs around freezing. Pro tip: time a late September trip with the aspens along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway, it is one of the most underrated leaf peeping drives in the West.
weather.gov/slc/I have never driven an RV before, is that okay?
First time renting an RV? You are in great company, and Highland is actually a friendly launch pad. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, showing you how to operate the slide outs, water system, propane, generator, and dump valves before you ever turn the key. You can message your host with questions before booking, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included if anything stumps you on the road. Stick to wider routes like I-15 and US-189 for your first day, save the narrow Alpine Loop for confidence built up later, and choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for an easier driving feel. Pro tip: book delivery and setup for your first trip so you can focus on enjoying the Wasatch views.
udot.utah.gov/What happens if I have an issue on the road during my Highland RV trip?
You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on I-15 or a battery hiccup at Granite Flat Campground is a phone call, not a crisis. Help can dispatch tow services, jump starts, tire changes, lockout assistance, and fuel delivery across Utah County and beyond. Your host is also reachable through the RVezy app and is usually your fastest answer for questions about the specific rig, like resetting the inverter or relighting the water heater. Pro tip: save both the roadside number and your host's contact in your phone before pickup, cell service can get patchy deep in American Fork Canyon and the Uintas.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Highland RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, an RV road trip from Highland easily crosses into neighboring states, and most hosts welcome multi state itineraries through Idaho, Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado. Popular routes include Highland to Yellowstone via Idaho (about 320 miles), Highland to Grand Teton (around 280 miles), and the southern Utah Mighty 5 loop. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and the coverage terms, so confirm directly through the RVezy message thread before booking. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because coverage does not extend across that border. Pro tip: share your full route with your host upfront, many will happily adjust mileage allowances for a clearly planned cross state itinerary.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage and budget should I plan for in Highland?
Realistic fuel budgeting makes your motorhome rental Highland trip stress free. Class A motorhomes average 7 to 10 miles per gallon, Class C motorhomes land around 10 to 14 mpg, campervans hit 16 to 20 mpg, and a truck towing a travel trailer typically gets 9 to 12 mpg. You can fill up easily at Maverik, Holiday Oil, and Costco in nearby Lehi and American Fork. A 500 mile loop in a Class C will burn roughly 40 gallons. Pro tip: top off in Lehi or Pleasant Grove before heading into the mountains, prices tend to climb once you pass Heber or head toward Park City.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Highland?
For the popular American Fork Canyon spots, book early. Granite Flat, Little Mill, Timpooneke, and Altamont all release reservations on Recreation.gov up to six months in advance, and summer weekends from June through Labor Day can sell out within minutes of release. Aim to book three to six months ahead for July and August, four to eight weeks ahead for May and September weekends, and you can often snag midweek sites just a few days out. Private parks in Provo and Pleasant Grove typically have more flexibility. Pro tip: set a Recreation.gov alert for cancellations, cancellations pop up daily and that is how locals score last minute Granite Flat sites.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232230What are driving conditions like around Highland?
Driving an RV in and out of Highland is straightforward on the main corridors. I-15 and US-189 are wide, well maintained, and easy for any size rig. Local roads through Alpine, Cedar Hills, and American Fork are gentle, with the Alpine-Highland I-15 exit serving as the main gateway. The big caution is the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway (SR-92) past the canyon entrance, the Forest Service does not recommend vehicles over 30 feet because of tight switchbacks at higher elevation. Winter brings snow and occasional canyon closures from November through April. Pro tip: check UDOT's traffic site before any mountain drive, and avoid I-15 northbound on Sunday evenings when weekend traffic peaks.
udot.utah.gov/connect/public/traffic-info/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Highland?
Campground amenities vary by style around Highland. Forest Service sites like Granite Flat and Timpooneke offer picnic tables, fire rings, vault or flush toilets, and potable water but no hookups, so you will run on your RV's onboard tanks and battery or generator. Private parks in Pleasant Grove, American Fork, and Provo offer full 30 and 50 amp hookups, sewer, Wi Fi, laundry, and pools. Dump stations are easy to find at several private parks in the valley. Fresh water fill ups are available at most private parks and at the Forest Service campgrounds during the open season. Pro tip: arrive with full fresh water tanks if you are headed up canyon.
fs.usda.gov/recarea/uwcnf/recarea/?recid=9136What features and amenities come inside a typical RV rental in Highland?
Highland RV rentals on RVezy are personally owned and well equipped for real trips. Expect a queen or king bed plus convertible dinette or bunk sleeping, a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, an indoor bathroom with toilet and shower, climate controls with both furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelted travel seats. Most rigs include a TV, many offer onboard generators for boondocking, and some campervans come with solar power and Wi Fi hotspots, perfect for working from Tibble Fork. Heated holding tanks are common on Utah rigs given the cold mountain nights. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps Count and amenities like generator or solar so your campervan rental Highland search shows only rigs that match how you actually camp.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Highland%2C%20UtahWhat add ons and options can I get with my Highland RV rental?
Hosts in Highland offer a great menu of add ons that make your trip easier. Common options include linen and kitchen kits, camp chairs and outdoor mats, portable grills, generators, bike or kayak racks, tow packages, pet fees, and pre stocked propane tanks. Delivery and setup is the most popular add on, especially to campgrounds in American Fork Canyon. Pickup and dropoff usually happens at the host's location with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough, and mileage policies are listed clearly on every listing, with some hosts offering unlimited mileage for longer trips. Pro tip: bundle linens, a generator, and delivery on your first booking, the time saved on prep is worth every dollar when you only have a long weekend.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Highland%2C%20UtahHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment for your RV rental in Highland is handled securely through RVezy, never directly to the host, which keeps your booking protected from start to finish. You pay through RVezy when you book, and a refundable security deposit is held separately based on the host's listing. Assuming the RV comes back in the same condition it left, the deposit is released after your trip wraps up. To avoid issues, take date stamped photos and a quick video walkthrough at both pickup and return, confirm the fuel and propane levels with your host, and report any pre existing scuffs in the RVezy chat so everything is documented. Pro tip: return the rig clean and on time, that is the single biggest factor in a smooth deposit release.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Highland during winter for a ski trip?
Yes, winter RV rental in Highland is a fun, growing option, and you are perfectly positioned for skiing. Highland sits within about an hour of Sundance, Deer Valley, Park City Mountain, Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, and Alta, so a capable tow vehicle with a travel trailer featuring heated tanks makes an epic ski basecamp. Look for listings tagged as four season ready, with insulated underbellies, heated holding tanks, and shore power compatibility. Most Forest Service campgrounds close in winter, but private RV parks in Pleasant Grove and Provo stay open year round with full hookups. Pro tip: ask the host specifically about freeze protection procedures, RVezy hosts who winter camp will walk you through tank heaters and antifreeze use during the orientation.
