Moab is ideal for year-round vacations; however, spring and fall tend to get the best weather, and there aren't as many tourists as in summer. If you're visiting in spring, park up over the Easter weekend and experience the Moab Jeep Safari. Settle down for a peaceful night under starry skies with a camper rental in Moab.

Heading to the city or the surrounding countryside? Moab is one of the RV-friendliest cities around, with several campgrounds within walking distance of the city center and plenty of places to park up at nearby state and national parks. As a small city, you can always leave your Moab trailer rental at a nearby campground and walk downtown.
There's nowhere quite like Moab for stepping off the beaten path. Arches National Park is just 10 minutes from the city and boasts over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the famed Delicate Arch. You’ll find dozens of hiking trails ranging in difficulty, many of which lead back to these natural wonders, with the La Sal Mountains as a breathtaking backdrop. During your hike, be on the lookout for local wildlife, including kangaroo rats, porcupines, and peregrine falcons.
Campers should also plan a trip to the nearby Canyonlands National Park. This massive park covers over 300,000 acres of vibrantly colored canyons, mesas, and buttes. Canyonlands is a magical hiking location. No trip is complete without hiking up The Island in the Sky mesa for panoramic views of out-of-this-world landscapes. The park has many highlights, including the red-and-white banded Needles and Horseshoe Canyon, which features rock art by Ancestral Puebloans dating back over 3,000 years.

The Portal RV Resort and Campground is another popular option near downtown. Around camp, you'll find spacious gravel and concrete pull-through sites with full hookups and 20/30/50 amp electricity. After exploring the nearby wilderness, cool off in the swimming pond and enjoy panoramic views of the nearby canyons and mountains. Canine campers will feel right at home here, with an onsite dog run and even a swimming pond just for pups. Amenities are standard and include laundry facilities, WiFi, and a dump station.
