This was our first time renting an RV or camper van of any type. Clark made the experience great. Everything was on point and Clark went above and beyond. The van was very well appointed, comfortable, and reliable. The bed was very comfortable and Clark was quick to respond to any requests before and during the trip. He has a passion for his van and to be able to rent it was a pleasure.

Brandon was great to work with, very communicative. The RV was nice, we had 3 adults and 2 dogs and it had ample room. It was nice to have all the cooking utensils and pans, bowls, accessories we needed. We had the RV delivered and this was great, to load up and leave for our trip. Well worth it. I would recommend this RV and plan to rent from Brandon again. .

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in American Fork, UT. Utah does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and fifth wheel on RVezy. Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle during your trip, and RVezy offers different coverage tiers that you (not the host) choose during checkout, letting you match protection to your comfort level. Cancellation terms are handled platform-wide for consistency rather than being set in individual listings, and if a host cancels you receive a refund or travel credit. Pro tip: book your American Fork RV trip early to lock in dates and pricing, knowing you have a built-in window to adjust if your plans shift.

Once you are here, your pup will love leashed walks along the Murdock Canal Trail, off-leash time at Art Dye Park's dog area, and dog-friendly hikes around Tibble Fork Reservoir in American Fork Canyon. nps.gov/zion/planyourvisit/directions.htmWhat are the best campgrounds near American Fork, UT?
The best campgrounds near American Fork put you right in the Wasatch Mountains. Little Mill Campground sits along American Fork Creek just 1.5 miles from Timpanogos Cave National Monument, with shaded sites and trout fishing right outside your door. Granite Flat Campground, less than a mile from Tibble Fork Reservoir at 6,400 feet, is perfect for kayaking and stargazing. Timpooneke Campground at 7,400 feet is the trailhead for the iconic 15-mile Mount Timpanogos hike. For full hookups, Lakeside RV Campground on the shore of Utah Lake offers swimming and laundry. Mountain Shadows RV Park in nearby Pleasant Grove is a Good Sam favorite. Pro tip: book Forest Service sites on Recreation.gov up to six months ahead — summer weekends fill within hours of release.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232230When is the best time to take an RV trip from American Fork?
American Fork has a true four-season climate, and late May through mid-October is the sweet spot for RV camping American Fork adventures. June through August brings hot, dry days often in the upper 80s to low 90s in the valley, with cool nights in the 50s up in American Fork Canyon above 6,000 feet, perfect sleeping weather. September and early October deliver golden aspens on the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway and fewer crowds. Spring (April to mid-May) is great for valley camping but high-elevation campgrounds like Timpooneke remain snowed in until late May. Winter (December to March) brings regular snowfall and freezing temps, but it is magical if you have a four-season RV and want to ski at nearby Sundance Resort. Pro tip: shoulder seasons offer the cheapest rates plus the best weather window.
weather.gov/slc/I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?
Absolutely — first time renting an RV in American Fork is easier than you'd expect. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, water systems, propane, and dump procedures, and you'll leave with their phone number for any questions on the road. Class C motorhomes and small travel trailers under 25 feet are the most beginner-friendly choices for navigating American Fork's wide grid streets and I-15. Plus, RVezy's 24/7 roadside assistance is one call away. Pro tip: do a practice drive around the parking lot at the host's home before heading out, and start with a short trip to Little Mill Campground (about 25 minutes from town) to build confidence before tackling longer routes.
fs.usda.gov/r04/uinta-wasatch-cacheWhat if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You're covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection package, so a flat tire on US-189 toward Provo Canyon, a dead battery at Tibble Fork Reservoir, or a tow off the Alpine Loop is handled by one phone call. RVezy support is also available before, during, and after your trip for anything else that comes up, and your host is typically just a text away for quick questions about the rig's quirks. Major service centers like Camping World in Draper (20 minutes north on I-15) can handle bigger repairs if needed. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's number in your phone before pickup so you have them ready offline in case canyon cell service drops.
udot.utah.gov/connect/Can I take my American Fork RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is welcome on most American Fork RV rentals. Popular cross-state routes from American Fork include heading north to Yellowstone and Grand Teton via I-15, east to Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park, or south through Arizona to the Grand Canyon. Canada trips may be allowed with host approval and confirmation of insurance coverage, so just message the host directly before booking to confirm. One important note: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend across that border. Pro tip: if you're planning a multi-state RV road trip from American Fork, mention the full route to your host upfront so they can confirm mileage allowances and any cross-border paperwork.
nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/directions.htmWhat should I budget for fuel on an American Fork RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable on a Utah RV trip, but it's easy to plan for. Gas prices in American Fork typically run around the Utah state average, with gas stations along Main Street and at the I-15 Exit 282 cluster (Maverik, Costco, Sinclair) usually offering the best prices in the area. Expect 8 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG) for a Class C motorhome, 6 to 8 MPG for a Class A, and 14 to 18 MPG for a campervan. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop through American Fork Canyon, Heber Valley, and Park City, budget roughly $150 to $200 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: Costco on Pacific Drive in American Fork has the cheapest diesel and gas in the valley if you have a membership.
gasprices.aaa.com/?state=UTHow far in advance should I book campgrounds near American Fork?
For the best campgrounds near American Fork, booking 4 to 6 months out is the move during summer. National Forest sites in American Fork Canyon (Little Mill, Granite Flat, Timpooneke, Mount Timpanogos Campground) release reservations on Recreation.gov on a six-month rolling window, and prime July and August weekends often fill within minutes of release at 10:00 AM Mountain Time. Utah Lake State Park bookings go through ReserveAmerica and the Utah State Parks system. Private RV parks like Lakeside RV Campground usually have more availability inside 30 days. Pro tip: if you strike out on weekends, target a Sunday-through-Thursday stay — midweek sites are far easier to grab and you'll have the trails to yourself in the morning.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/231938What are the driving conditions like around American Fork?
American Fork driving is mostly easy: wide streets, a flat valley grid, and quick access to I-15. The two things to know are I-15 traffic between Lehi and Provo can get heavy during the 4 to 6 PM rush, and Utah Highway 92 (the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway through American Fork Canyon) restricts vehicles over 30 feet — including most Class A motorhomes and large fifth wheels. Stick to Class C, Class B, or smaller travel trailers if you want to drive the loop. Winter driving (November to March) brings snow and icy passes, so chains or snow tires may be required on canyon roads. Pro tip: avoid driving the Alpine Loop on summer Saturdays before 10 AM when fall-color leaf-peepers and cave visitors create slow-moving lines.
udot.utah.gov/What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near American Fork?
Campground amenities vary by elevation and operator near American Fork. Forest Service sites in American Fork Canyon (Little Mill, Granite Flat, Timpooneke) offer picnic tables, fire rings, vault or flush toilets, and potable water spigots, but no electrical, water, or sewer hookups at sites — bring full fresh tanks. Private parks like Lakeside RV Campground on Utah Lake and Mountain Shadows RV in Pleasant Grove offer full 30/50-amp hookups, dump stations, Wi-Fi, laundry, and showers. The closest public dump stations are at Lakeside RV and the American Fork Maverik on State Street. Water fills are available at most Forest Service campground entrances. Pro tip: top off fresh water before heading up the canyon, where in-site hookups don't exist.
fs.usda.gov/r04/uinta-wasatch-cache/recreation/little-mill-campgroundWhat features come standard in American Fork RV rentals?
Most motorhome rental American Fork options come fully equipped and ready to camp. Expect a queen or king bed plus convertible dinette and sofa sleeping for 4 to 8 people, a kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, propane stove, and sink, a wet or dry bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, furnace heat, and seatbelts for every passenger. Most Class C and Class A rentals include an onboard generator, and many hosts offer Wi-Fi hotspots, outdoor TVs, and Bluetooth sound systems. Travel trailers and fifth wheels offer similar interior amenities but require a tow vehicle. Pro tip: check the listing photos for slide-outs — they dramatically expand interior space at campgrounds like Granite Flat where you'll spend evenings inside watching the stars over Tibble Fork Reservoir.
rvia.org/What add-ons and options can I get with my RV rental?
American Fork hosts offer some of the best add-ons on RVezy. Popular options include camping kits with chairs, tables, and outdoor mats ($25 to $75), kitchen and linen packages ($30 to $100), generator hours beyond the daily included allowance ($3 to $5 per hour), bike racks, paddleboards, and propane refills. Mileage policies vary: many hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per day, with $0.35 to $0.50 per additional mile, while others offer unlimited mileage packages perfect for a longer RV road trip from American Fork. Pickup is usually at the host's home in American Fork, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, or Highland, with delivery available for a fee. Pro tip: bundling delivery, setup, and a camping kit often costs less than buying gear and saves you the hassle of driving the RV yourself.
visitutah.com/How do payments and security deposits work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. You pay through the RVezy platform when you book, never directly to the host, using a credit or debit card, and the charge covers the nightly rate, service fee, protection plan, and any add-ons you select. A refundable security deposit (typically several hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV's value) is pre-authorized on your card before your trip, then released after the host confirms the RV was returned in good condition. To avoid any issues, do a thorough walkthrough at pickup and dropoff, take photos and video of the interior and exterior, and return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels you started with. Pro tip: dump the tanks before returning to avoid dump fees some hosts charge.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksAre RV rentals available in American Fork during winter?
Yes, winter RV rentals in American Fork are available and can be magical if you are prepared. Many local hosts offer four-season RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and upgraded furnaces, perfect for ski trips to Sundance Resort (about 20 minutes up Provo Canyon), Brighton, or Park City Mountain. American Fork winters bring nightly lows in the teens and significant seasonal snowfall, so plan stays at full-hookup parks like Lakeside RV Campground where you can stay connected to shore power and city water (with a heated hose). High-elevation Forest Service campgrounds in American Fork Canyon close from roughly late October through mid-May. Pro tip: filter RVezy for RVs marked winter-ready and confirm with the host that the furnace and tank heaters have been serviced before your trip.
