Lincoln was great and very helpful. His willingness to meet with me early, as a first time RVezy user, was appreciative. I felt like Lincoln made this experience great. He answered my questions before and during pick-up. Lincoln was also very willing to listen to my suggestions as to what could make the experience even better for first time renters.

Clark was an excellent host, Van was a very quality build, and was perfect for our group of three. He took the time to go over all the systems, and the vehicle was very well stocked with everything we needed. This is a high-end van, and is very capable for any journey. We hope to rent again!

This was the first time renting an RV and it was probably the best experience I could have asked for. Larry was incredibly helpful and explained everything I needed to know. Also there was a binder provided that I could check if I forgot anything. Any question I had while I was out was answered quickly. Pick up and return was simple and smooth. If I wasn't planning on buying my own RV, I would definitely rent one from here again!

Top Hosts in Salt Lake City, UT

Kiesha7 trips - Joined Jun 2023

Kiesha and Dan were some of the best hosts I’ve ever met when traveling. This was our first ever rv camping experience but they made it super easy and comfortable. They set the bar high for us, especially the communication. They would respond immediately and accurately whenever we needed anything and we really appreciated that. The van was everything in the description if not more. It’s very spacious yet cozy, perfect for a family trip. It is also easy to maneuver, the sensors and cameras really added to it as well. Dan的中文非常流利!我非常欣赏!尤其我父母这次来玩英文也不是特别好,Dan的中文instructions让这次旅途更加轻松。房车的操作也非常简单,我们特别喜欢!

Our family of four had a fantastic week in Kiesha’s Solis exploring Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. The RV made camping a dream! It was well-stocked with everything we needed, easy to operate, and fit us all comfortably. Kiesha and Dan were super helpful and accommodating, available to answer questions and offer suggestions for the journey. As first time RV-ers, we’ve been converted!

Super easy to work with, loved the little comfort touches in the van, very thorough instructions and help.

This RV was a joy to use. Jason was easy to communicate with and included a full guide for the truck with visuals for guidance. The projector for movie nights and expandable over head tarp for dinners made our evenings that much better. The only concern was that some dishes weren’t clean upon arrival, very minor and I’m sure by accident, but still happened. Two full water tanks were included which was great. The refrigerator works very well. The RV has outlets all over that keep the cars battery safe so no worries there. Overall my fiance and I highly recommend this RV and would totally get it again if in the area.

Be sure to confirm the details at booking for a worry-free adventure.

What are some of the best RV campgrounds near Salt Lake City?

Salt Lake City has a great mix of RV-friendly campgrounds: Mountain Valley RV Resort (60 miles southeast, heated pools and mountain views), Salt Lake City KOA (close to downtown, big-rig friendly, dog run), Pony Express RV Resort (north side of SLC, full hookups, playground), and Antelope Island State Park (on the Great Salt Lake, epic sunsets, wildlife watching). These spots make perfect home bases for RV camping Salt Lake City year-round.

What’s the best time for an RV trip near Salt Lake City, and what’s the weather like?

Spring and early fall are the best times for RV rentals in Salt Lake City: think highs of 60–75°F and colorful mountain scenery. Summer brings dry heat (up to 95°F in July), but Utah’s arid air means cool nights, too. Winter is brisk (highs: 35–45°F), and many area campgrounds stay open, with cozy ski-town vibes close by. Book in advance for ski season or peak leaf-peeping weekends!

Is Salt Lake City a good place for first-time RV renters?

Salt Lake City is perfect for first-time RV renters: the roads are well-marked, campgrounds welcome newbies, and many RV owners will guide you through the walk-through at pickup or delivery. No RV driving experience is needed, and your host will answer all your questions before you hit the road. Pro tip: Try a smaller campervan rental for easy city navigation and mountain access.

What if I need roadside assistance during my Salt Lake City RV trip?

If things go sideways, you’re covered: every RV rental in Salt Lake City through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance. Whether it’s a flat tire on I-15, a jump start in the Wasatch, or a lockout at a local campground, help is just a call away. The RVezy customer support team is standing by to keep your trip on track so you can adventure with real peace of mind.

What are some popular RV road trip destinations from Salt Lake City?

Salt Lake City is the jumping-off point for legendary RV adventures: Zion National Park is 4.5 hours south, Yellowstone is about 5 hours north, Arches and Canyonlands are about 4 hours southeast, and Bear Lake (the "Caribbean of the Rockies") is a quick 2-hour drive. For a classic family RV trip, try a Park City loop: just 40 minutes east for mountain fun and festivals.

What should I budget for fuel on an RV trip from Salt Lake City?

Most RV rentals in Salt Lake City get around 8–12 MPG, so plan for fuel to be a big part of your road trip budget: gas in Utah averages $3.90–$4.30/gallon (check before you go). For a cross-state adventure (SLC to Arches NP and back, about 480 miles round-trip), expect $150–$260 in fuel costs for medium motorhomes. Keep an eye out for Maverik and Costco gas stations for price breaks.

How early do I need to book RV campgrounds around Salt Lake City?

For the best campgrounds near Salt Lake City, book 2–6 months out for summer and leaf-peeping weekends, especially spots close to the city or along the Utah Mighty 5 route. Utah State Parks reservations open four months in advance: you can reserve directly through their online portal. For popular events (like Sundance in Park City), booking ASAP is smartest.

What should I know about driving an RV in and around Salt Lake City?

Driving an RV in Salt Lake City is a breeze compared to bigger cities: wide roads, plentiful parking, and predictable traffic patterns. Watch for downtown construction zones and beware of low-clearance underpasses near the west side. Heading into the canyons? Take it slow on steep grades and during winter, be prepared for occasional snow. For city sightseeing, let your host deliver: the RV comes to you, no city driving stress required.

What hookups and amenities do local Salt Lake City campgrounds offer for RVs?

Salt Lake City RV parks and campgrounds often feature full hookups (water, sewer, electric) plus amenities like laundry, free WiFi, and hot showers. State parks usually offer dump stations and potable water fills. Pony Express RV Resort has a pool and playground, and Antelope Island State Park offers scenic dry camping with nearby dump and water services. Check campground details for big-rig-friendly and pull-through sites.

What features and equipment are included in a typical Salt Lake City RV rental?

Most RV rentals in Salt Lake City come fully loaded: expect comfy beds, full kitchens with stovetops and fridges, bathrooms with hot showers (in most models), A/C, heat, and even smart TVs. Larger rigs often include a generator for off-grid camping, and family units have multiple seatbelts and sleeping spaces. Many hosts offer fun add-ons like camping chairs, fire pits, or bike racks: check each listing for the goodies included in your Utah road trip.

Can I add extras like bikes or kitchen kits to my Salt Lake City RV rental?

Absolutely: many Salt Lake City RV owners offer optional add-ons like bike racks, fishing poles, kayaks, kitchen kits, camp chairs, or even paddleboards, with prices clearly listed on RVezy. You can select these extras during booking. Pickup and dropoff details are always spelled out, plus your rental includes a walkthrough so you know how to use every feature before heading out.

How does payment and the security deposit work for Salt Lake City RV rentals?

Booking your Salt Lake City RV rental is easy: pay online through RVezy's secure platform. A refundable security deposit (amount set by the host, often $500 to $1,000) is authorized on your card three days before your trip starts, not at booking. The hold is released 7 days after you return the RV if it's clean and undamaged. Do a walk-around with your host at dropoff and take photos to help ensure a smooth release. It's simple and hassle-free.

Can I take my Salt Lake City RV rental to another state or cross the border?

Yes: you can take your Salt Lake City RV rental almost anywhere in the continental US and even into Canada (with approval from the RV owner), but trips to Mexico aren’t allowed due to lack of coverage. Let your host know about your itinerary before booking so they can confirm any cross-border requirements or coverage. Utah’s location makes epic road trips easy: Grand Teton, Glacier, and Banff are all within reach.

Can I rent an RV in Salt Lake City for winter camping or ski trips?

Winter RVing in Salt Lake City is totally doable: thanks to heated tanks, insulated rigs, and easy access to snow country. Many rentals are winter-ready, perfect for ski adventures to Alta, Snowbird, or Park City. Just plug in at campgrounds with shore power, keep an eye on weather, and ask your host for tips on cold-weather camping in Utah.

Where can I park an RV overnight in Salt Lake City if campgrounds are full?

If you find campgrounds booked, Salt Lake City has a handful of options: most Walmarts in the area allow RV overnights (call ahead), and the SLC KOA offers last-minute sites when available. Stay clear of overnight parking on city streets, as restrictions are enforced. Your best backup: Loveland Living Planet Aquarium’s lot welcomes travelers for a fee if you call in advance.
