Mark was a wonderful host. This was our first time traveling by RV and he was extremely patient and accommodating with all of our questions. The RV was clean when we picked it up, stocked with household items, such as; dishes, utensils, hand soap and toilet paper. The RV is spacious and comfortable and was the perfect "house on wheels" to travel in. We needed something that would get us up north fast because of an extremely ill family member, and this made our road time so much shorter than having to stop and get a hotel. We would highly recommend Mark as a host and would rent his RV again!

What license do I need to rent an RV in Camano, WA?

Great news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Camano, WA. Washington State does not require a commercial driver's license or any special endorsement for motorhomes, campervans, travel trailers, or fifth wheels used for personal travel. To book on RVezy you'll need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and you'll confirm your ID through the platform during checkout, which usually takes just a few minutes. Visiting from outside the United States? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick and paperwork-free the process actually is.

Is my RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Yes. Every RV rental in Camano booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance built into your reservation. During checkout you choose from different protection tiers so you can select the level of coverage that suits your trip, whether you are driving to Camano Island State Park or exploring the North Cascades Loop. The protection plan covers many types of damage to the RV, which is reassuring for first-time renters, so you can focus on watching for orcas and bald eagles instead of worrying about a bumped mirror.

What happens if I need to cancel my Camano RV trip?

You can book with confidence. RVezy applies a clear cancellation policy to every Camano reservation, including a money-back grace period right after booking so you have time to finalize plans. Refunds depend on how far in advance you cancel, and special circumstances such as natural disasters may be considered separately. Cancellation rules are set by RVezy rather than by individual hosts, so the terms are consistent across listings. Lock in your dates early since Camano Island State Park weekends fill quickly, then adjust as needed within the policy window.

Can I bring my dog on a Camano Island RV trip?

Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Camano is easy to find on RVezy. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page to see hosts who welcome dogs, often without an extra cleaning fee. Camano Island is a great dog destination: leashed dogs are welcome at Camano Island State Park on a leash no longer than 8 feet, and you can walk the forested trails connecting to Cama Beach State Park. Iverson Spit Preserve on the north end is another favorite. Message the host before booking to share your dog's size and breed so check-in goes smoothly.

Can the RV be delivered to me on Camano Island?

Yes, RV delivery in Camano is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a great choice if it is your first time renting an RV. Many Camano and Stanwood hosts will drive the RV to Camano Island State Park, Cama Beach Historical State Park, or a private address, then level it, connect power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery is especially useful for travel trailers and fifth wheels since you do not need a tow vehicle. Ask your host about delivery to Camano Island State Park, where many sites accommodate larger rigs.

Where are the best campgrounds near Camano, WA?

Camano has excellent options. Camano Island State Park on South Lowell Point Road offers wooded sites, a dump station, hot showers, and views of Saratoga Passage, and the lower loop stays open year-round. Cama Beach Historical State Park next door has restored 1930s cedar cabins and a trail connecting to Camano Island State Park. Just off-island, try Kayak Point County Park in Stanwood (about 15 minutes away with hookup sites) or River Meadows County Park near Arlington. Book Camano Island State Park sites early for the best Puget Sound views, ideal for RV camping on Camano Island.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Camano, WA?

Late June through mid-September is the sweet spot for RV camping on Camano Island, with daytime highs typically in the 70s and the Pacific Northwest's reliably dry summer weather. May, June, and September are great shoulder seasons with lower nightly rates, easier campground reservations, and beautiful Puget Sound sunsets. Winter is mild and bookable, with Camano Island State Park's lower loop open year-round and overnight temperatures usually in the upper 30s to 40s. Plan around the Camano Island Studio Tour, which brings local artists into open studios across the island each year.

I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay on Camano Island?

You will do great, and Camano is one of the friendlier places to learn. The route onto the island via Highway 532 from I-5 Exit 212 is wide, paved, and gently curving, with no mountain passes or ferries required. Your RVezy host will give you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the propane, water, slides, generator, and dump valves, and they are a text away during your trip. Many first-time renters on Camano choose a Class C motorhome or campervan for easier handling. Practice a few turns in a large lot before heading down Lowell Point Road, which narrows as it approaches the state park entrance.

What if I get a flat tire or breakdown during my Camano trip?

You are covered. 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking as part of the renter protection plan built into your reservation. One phone call connects you with help for flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, or towing, whether you are parked at Camano Island State Park, near the Stanwood Camano Visitor Center, or on the road. Your host is also a quick text away for vehicle-specific questions such as resetting the inverter or relighting the water heater. Take a photo of the RV's VIN plate and your roadside assistance number during the walkthrough so you have everything ready if needed.

Can I take my Camano RV rental to Canada or other states?

In many cases, yes, and Camano is a great launchpad. British Columbia is about 105 miles north via I-5 and the Peace Arch crossing, and many RVezy hosts allow cross-border trips. Message the host directly from the listing to confirm before you book so insurance is squared away. Travel within Washington, Oregon, and Idaho is straightforward, and a popular RV road trip from Camano runs north toward the San Juan Islands ferries or south to the Oregon Coast. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Have your passport ready and declare any fresh produce, propane levels, and pets at the Canadian border.

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in Camano?

Realistic expectations make for happy budgets. Campervans and Class B motorhomes typically get 16 to 20 mpg, Class C motorhomes 9 to 12 mpg, larger Class A motorhomes 7 to 10 mpg, and a truck towing a travel trailer roughly 10 to 14 mpg. Gas prices on Camano and in nearby Stanwood usually run slightly above the Washington state average, with convenient stations at Terry's Corner and Elger Bay Grocery. For a typical 200-mile Camano RV trip with side excursions to Deception Pass, budget around $90 to $140 in fuel for a Class C. Fill up in Stanwood or Marysville before crossing onto the island, where prices tend to be friendlier.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Camano?

For summer weekends at Camano Island State Park, book as early as possible. The Washington State Parks reservation window opens nine months out, and Friday and Saturday nights in July and August often fill within the first few weeks. Cama Beach cabins go even faster, sometimes booking out for the whole season by February. Weekday and shoulder-season stays are much more relaxed, and you can often score a site just days ahead. Set up an alert on the Washington State Parks reservation site for cancellations, since holiday weekends like the Fourth of July often see last-minute openings as plans change.

What are driving conditions like on and around Camano Island?

Driving on Camano is easy and stress-free. You reach the island via the General Mark Clark Memorial Bridge from Stanwood off Highway 532, with no ferries, tolls, or mountain passes involved. Speed limits across the island range from about 35 to 50 mph, and the main routes (East Camano Drive, Elger Bay Road, and Lowell Point Road) are well-paved with gentle curves. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk, and note that Lowell Point Road narrows as it descends into Camano Island State Park, so go slow on that final stretch. Avoid Highway 532 westbound between 4 and 6 pm on summer Fridays, when weekend traffic from Seattle backs up at I-5 Exit 212.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/real-time-travel/travel-center

What amenities will I find at Camano-area campgrounds?

You will find a good mix. Camano Island State Park has flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, an RV dump station, picnic tables and fire rings at every site, and a boat launch, though individual sites do not have electric or sewer hookups, so plan to dry camp or pre-fill your fresh water tank. Kayak Point County Park, about 25 minutes away on the mainland, offers hookup sites. For dumping tanks, use the Camano Island State Park dump station or the WSDOT-maintained Smokey Point safety rest area on I-5 south of Stanwood. Top off your fresh water at the dump station spigot before heading to your loop site.

What's included inside a typical Camano RV rental?

RVs on RVezy are well equipped. A standard motorhome rental in Camano includes a queen or king bed, bunks or convertible dinette for kids, a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a wet or dry bathroom with toilet and shower, heating, air conditioning, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many Camano listings also offer outdoor speakers, a propane grill, a generator for off-grid stays at Camano Island State Park, and onboard TVs. Wifi is rarely built in, but cell service on Camano is generally solid for hotspots. Filter by Sleeps count and review the bed configuration photos closely, since some campervan rentals in Camano sleep two comfortably but four only in a pinch.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Camano hosts on RVezy offer many helpful extras to customize your trip. Popular add-ons include camp chairs and tables, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, kayaks or paddleboards, generators, and propane fire pits, useful since open beach fires are not allowed at Camano Island State Park. Pickup is typically at the host's home in Camano, Stanwood, or nearby Arlington, or you can request RV delivery in Camano right to your campsite for a fee that often scales by distance. Mileage policies vary by listing, so check the daily mileage allowance and per-mile overage rate before booking. Bundling delivery with end-of-trip pickup lets you skip driving the RV altogether.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payments are simple and transparent, with no cash changing hands. You pay securely through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card when you book, and your trip total covers the nightly rate, service fees, your chosen protection plan, and any add-ons or delivery. A refundable security deposit is held by RVezy (not the host) shortly before your trip begins and is released after your trip ends, assuming no damage or extra cleaning is required. Take a quick walkaround video at both pickup and drop-off for your Camano RV trip, which is the easiest way to document the RV's condition and help ensure your deposit comes back quickly.

Can I rent an RV on Camano Island in winter?

Yes, and it is a quietly magical time to rent an RV in Camano, WA. The lower loop at Camano Island State Park stays open year-round, daytime temperatures usually sit in the mid-40s to low 50s, and you will often have the beach trails almost to yourself, sometimes with bald eagles overhead and gray whales passing through Saratoga Passage in spring. Many RVezy hosts offer winter-ready rigs with heated holding tanks, propane furnaces, and added insulation, so ask about cold-weather prep when you message. Booking a host who offers RV delivery in Camano in winter is great for a cozy family RV trip without any winterizing stress.
