The RV was extremely nice. It included 2 massage recliner chairs, a kitchen that had all the cooking utensils along with paper plates, plastic silverware and cups, paper towels, and the bathroom was stocked towels, toilet paper and hand soap so you don’t worry about packing any. Oren, the owner, was extremely helpful. This was my first time staying in and renting an RV, I had a lot of questions before and during my trip. Oren always responded to my texts in a timely manner helping me solve the problem. He also got me in contact with a man who rents out generators and brought it to the campsite for me free of charge saving me time on making a pitstop. Highly recommend using Oren’s RV if you need an RV in the Chippewa Falls area.

Neat layout! Slept us all comfortably. Only thing I was picky about was that it wasn't very clean and things weren't in the best condition. Overall though, everything worked as it should!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Stanley, WI

How much does an RV rental in Stanley, WI typically cost?

RV rental in Stanley is budget-friendly thanks to the area's small-town pricing. On RVezy, travel trailers near Stanley often start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes typically range from $175 to $275 per night, and larger Class A motorhomes run about $225 to $400 per night. Booking midweek (Sunday through Thursday) and outside the peak July to August window can shave 15 to 25 percent off your total. Many local hosts offer weekly discounts, so a 7-night Chippewa Valley trip often costs less per night than a long weekend.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Stanley, WI?

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Stanley for almost every motorhome or travel trailer on RVezy. Wisconsin exempts recreational vehicle operators from any Commercial Driver License (CDL) requirement as long as the RV is not longer than 45 feet and is used for personal travel, so a standard Class D license covers Class A, B, and C motorhomes. You'll need to be 25 or older to book, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the platform during checkout. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Pair your home license with an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association and you're set.

What protection is included with my RV rental in Stanley?

Every RVezy booking in Stanley automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can pull out of the driveway feeling covered. The protection plan helps shield you from most accidental damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level (not the host) during the booking process to match your comfort level. Coverage levels and details are clearly explained at checkout, especially helpful for first time renting an RV in a rural area like Chippewa County where the nearest large service center is in Eau Claire, about 35 miles west.

What if I need to cancel my Stanley RV trip?

Booking is low-risk. RVezy applies the same cancellation policy to every reservation, including a grace period right after you book during which you can cancel for a full refund. Refund amounts after that depend on how far ahead of your trip you cancel. Cancellations are handled by RVezy directly (not by individual hosts), so you get the same fair process no matter which listing you choose. Book early for July and August Chippewa Valley weekends, but lock it in knowing you have flexibility if plans change.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Stanley?

Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Stanley is easy to find on RVezy by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page. When is the best time to visit Stanley, WI in an RV?

Late May through early October is the sweet spot for a Stanley RV trip, with July averaging highs around 80°F and lows in the upper 50s, ideal for swimming at Chapman Lake or paddling the Chippewa River. June and September are quieter with fewer bugs, and daytime temps in the 65 to 75°F range, perfect for biking the Old Abe State Trail. Fall color usually peaks from late September through mid-October across Chippewa County, an underrated time to rent. Winters are seriously cold, with January highs around 22°F, so summer to early fall is when most hosts list their RVs.

Is Stanley a good place for first-time RV renters?

Stanley is one of the friendliest places in Wisconsin for first time renting an RV. Roads are flat, traffic is light, and U.S. Highway 29 (the main route in and out) is a four-lane divided highway with wide shoulders and easy fuel stops in Thorp, Cadott, and Chippewa Falls. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering hookups, slide-outs, generator, water, and waste, and you can message them anytime during your trip. Pro tip: book a host that offers delivery to Chapman Park, you'll skip city driving entirely and step straight into vacation mode on Chapman Lake.

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking in Stanley includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing if needed. You can also message your host directly through the app: most are local owners who know their RV inside out and can talk you through small issues like tripped breakers or a finicky water pump. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after the trip too. Save the roadside number in your phone before leaving Stanley, since cell coverage thins out on backroads near Otter Lake and the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.

What should I budget for fuel on a Stanley RV trip?

Fuel is one of the more predictable parts of your Stanley RV trip budget. Wisconsin gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, often in the $3.00 to $3.50 per gallon range, with diesel slightly higher. Expect roughly 8 to 10 mpg in a Class A, 10 to 14 mpg in a Class C, and 16 to 20 mpg for a campervan or truck-and-travel-trailer setup. A weeklong 500-mile loop around the Chippewa Valley in a Class C usually runs $150 to $200 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Kwik Trip in Thorp or Cadott on U.S. Highway 29, prices are consistently among the lowest in the area.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Stanley?

Lock in your campsite early and the rest of your Stanley trip falls into place. Wisconsin State Parks like Brunet Island and Lake Wissota open reservations up to 11 months in advance through the state's official reservation system, and prime summer weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day) often sell out the day they open. Chapman Park in Stanley books directly through the City of Stanley at 715-644-5758 and tends to fill 4 to 8 weeks ahead for July weekends. For midweek summer stays or shoulder-season trips in May, June, September, or October, you can often book just 1 to 2 weeks out.

What are driving conditions like around Stanley?

Driving an RV around Stanley is refreshingly stress-free. The area sits on gently rolling farmland in Chippewa County, with U.S. Highway 29 (four-lane divided) running directly through town, connecting you east to Wausau and west to Eau Claire. County highways like H, F, and M are well-maintained two-lane roads with light traffic, perfect for getting to Otter Lake or Brunet Island. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk (this is northern Wisconsin, deer are everywhere), and check 511wi.gov in spring for occasional weight-restricted 'frost law' roads. Snow is a real factor November through March, which is why most RV rentals operate May through October.

Otter Lake County Park offers electric-only sites, flush toilets, and a dump station. Most Wisconsin State Parks require a Vehicle Admission Sticker, which you can buy at the park entrance. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving the dump station, since some rustic sites have no individual water hookups.

How do payment and the security deposit work?

Payment for your motorhome rental in Stanley is handled securely through RVezy: no cash, no awkward handoffs at pickup. You pay online at booking, and your card is charged according to the schedule shown at checkout. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV) and released after drop-off, assuming no damage or extra cleaning is needed. Do a quick walkaround video at pickup and drop-off with your host: it documents the RV's condition and makes deposit returns smooth and fast.

Can I rent an RV in Stanley during winter?

Winter RV rentals in Stanley are limited but possible for the right adventure. Most hosts on RVezy in northern Wisconsin operate May through October because of subzero January temperatures (average highs around 22°F, lows near 5°F) and the risk of frozen water lines. A handful of four-season RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and shore-power hookups do stay listed for ice-fishing trips on Otter Lake or snowmobiling along the Chippewa County trail system. If a winter trip is your goal, filter for available dates in December through March, then message hosts directly to confirm cold-weather readiness and ask about generator and propane capacity.
