Mike was exceptional to work with throughout this process. He made this rental so easy and seamless. Everything was clean and in order. He provided everything we needed throughout our trip to Yellowstone. He even alerted us to heavy rains coming our way. Mike is HIGHLY recommended and if needed, we will rent from Mike once again.

A fantastic RV for 2 adults and 2 kids to get around the Yellowstone area. An optimal size for our family and getting around. The advantage of this RV over many other rentals is that is comes ‘fully loaded’, all as part of the package. Communication was prompt, clear and positive. We had a great experience and would highly recommend this RV. Thank you Amber.

RV camping in Wyoming is a breeze thanks to welcoming campgrounds and easy access to nature. Top picks: Colter Bay RV Park (Jackson Lake), Buffalo Bill State Park (near Cody), and Sleeping Bear RV Park (Lander). Many Walmarts and Cabela’s allow a night’s stay—just check with the store manager first. For wide-open boondocking, BLM lands abound. Always verify local rules, especially in towns like Jackson and Cody. Tip: National parks require advance reservations, so secure your spot early during summer!

What is the best time of year for an RV rental in Wyoming?

The sweet spot for an RV trip in Wyoming is from late May through mid-September, when highs range from the upper 60s to low 80s Fahrenheit and campgrounds are in full swing. Spring brings wildflowers in the Wind River Range, while fall is perfect for spotting golden aspens and migrating wildlife. Winter is cold (highs in the 20s–40s), but some campgrounds and state parks do stay open for adventurous travelers with winterized RVs. Whenever you visit, Wyoming’s landscapes promise breathtaking views!

How much should I budget for gas on a Wyoming RV road trip?

Gas costs are a real factor for any RV trip, especially across Wyoming’s big distances. Most rental RVs average 8-14 miles per gallon, with larger motorhomes at the lower end. As of spring 2024, regular gas averages about $3.50–$4 per gallon in Wyoming. To budget: estimate your route mileage (like 500 miles round-trip to Yellowstone), then divide by your RV’s expected MPG. Many travelers find a campervan rental saves on fuel. Planning out refuels also means you won’t be caught short in scenic but remote spots!

How far in advance should I reserve a campground in Wyoming?

For the best campgrounds near popular spots like Yellowstone, Jackson, or Devil’s Tower, booking early is key. Many state park campgrounds open reservations up to 120 days in advance through ReserveAmerica, and national parks fill up months ahead for summer. For spontaneous travelers, many Bureau of Land Management (BLM) sites are first-come, first-served. Pro tip: plan summer weekends well in advance, but if you’re flexible, spring and fall have plenty of last-minute options!

What driving conditions should I expect on Wyoming’s roads during RV season?

Wyoming’s highways are famously scenic and well-maintained, but be ready for changing conditions. Summer can bring quick thunderstorms and gusty winds, especially near the plains and Tetons. Watch for wildlife on rural routes, and always check the weather before heading into the mountains. Winter travel may require snow tires or chains. For an easier journey, many area RV parks have pull-through sites. Early risers enjoy lighter traffic, especially around Yellowstone entrances. RV travel lets you go at your own pace, just plan for longer distances between gas stations!

What should I expect at Wyoming campgrounds for RVs (hookups, dumping, water)?

Wyoming campgrounds offer everything from full hookup RV parks to rustic national forest sites. At top picks like Colter Bay and Buffalo Bill State Park, you’ll find electric, water, and sewer hookups, plus convenient dump stations and potable water fill-ups. Smaller or remote campgrounds might offer just the basics, so check your site amenities when booking. Pro tip: Always bring an extra hose and extension cord, Wyoming’s big spaces mean extra-long hookup runs are common!

What amenities come with most Wyoming RV rentals?

Most RV rentals in Wyoming are like rolling cabins, offering real beds, kitchens with fridges and stovetops, bathrooms with showers, and plenty of storage. Expect seatbelts for road safety, plus air conditioning or heat for any season. Many units include TVs, DVD players, and even Wi-Fi options, while generators provide power if you’re off-grid. Message your host if you need family-friendly extras like linens, cookware, or bike racks. Your RV is your home on wheels, perfect for exploring Teton or Bighorn country!

Are there popular add-ons or features I can select with my Wyoming RV rental?

Wyoming RV rentals come with tons of great optional add-ons. Many hosts offer options like propane fire pits, camping chairs, GPS units, and even kayaks for paddling nearby lakes. When booking, you’ll also see choices for generator usage, extra linens, and outdoor grills—all perfect for local adventures. For pickup and drop-off, you can filter for Instant Book or message hosts for flexible arrangements. Want unlimited mileage for a big road trip? Look for that filter as well!

Booking your RV rental in Wyoming is secure and straightforward—just reserve through RVezy, pay your rental fee up front, and a security deposit is held until you return the RV in great shape. The deposit covers things like damages or extra cleaning, and is released following a quick post-trip inspection. To avoid any issues, return the RV on time and in the same clean condition as pickup. Tip: most travelers find hosts are friendly and flexible—another reason to book direct with Wyoming RV owners!
