Campgrounds and RV parks near Mission 1, BC

Mission 1 sits within Metro Vancouver on the north shore of Burrard Inlet, placing RV travellers within a short drive of downtown Vancouver, the North Shore mountains, and the Sea to Sky corridor heading toward Whistler. The area is served by a mix of private full-service RV parks close to the city and a provincial park campground along Howe Sound. Capilano RV Park is the closest fully serviced option, located in West Vancouver next to the Lions Gate Bridge, with gated sites supervised 24 hours a day, styles ranging from full hookups to tenting, plus a children's playground, pool, hot tub, and laundry facilities. Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground Vancouver sits east of downtown with full hook-up accommodation for any size motorhome, paved and landscaped sites, park-wide WiFi, a separate tent area, indoor pool, jacuzzi, fitness room, games room, playground, store, and large laundromat. Further afield, Anmore Camp and RV Park sits in the hills near Buntzen Lake above Port Moody, and Porteau Cove Provincial Park offers waterfront camping about 38 km north on Highway 99. Plaza Mobile and RV Park rounds out the closer options.

Booking systems differ between private RV parks and the provincial park. Porteau Cove Provincial Park is 100% reservable through camping.bcparks.ca, and during peak season (June 15 to Labour Day) each party is limited to a maximum stay of 7 nights due to the park's popularity and size. Waterfront sites go first, so book as early as the BC Parks reservation window allows. Private parks handle their own reservations. Capilano RV Park takes online and phone bookings, with reservations held for 72 hours and automatically released if a valid credit card is not received. Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground Vancouver accepts online and phone reservations; drive-ins are welcome, but booking in advance is strongly recommended, especially during peak seasons. For summer holiday weekends, secure sites several months ahead.
