Campgrounds and RV parks near Tusayan, AZ

Tusayan sits about one mile south of the Grand Canyon National Park South Rim entrance on Highway 64, surrounded by the Kaibab National Forest. The town functions as the primary gateway community for South Rim visitors, with a small commercial strip of gas stations, restaurants, groceries, and an IMAX theater, and it serves as the natural staging point for RV travelers heading into the park. Camping options cluster tightly around the entrance corridor. Grand Canyon Camper Village sits in Tusayan itself, roughly one mile from the park gate. Inside the park, Mather Campground South Rim - Grand Canyon National Park and Trailer Village RV Park are located in Grand Canyon Village on the rim. Trailer Village is the only in-park option offering full hookups, while Mather Campground handles tents and smaller RVs without hookups. Grand Canyon National Park itself covers both rims of the canyon, and Raptor Ranch RV Park and Campground provides an additional option along the Highway 64 corridor south of town for travelers spacing out the drive from Williams or Flagstaff.

Mather Campground South Rim - Grand Canyon National Park books through Recreation.gov, with reservations available up to six months in advance and required during the peak season from March 1 through November 30. Peak weekends in late April, May, and October often fill within minutes of the six-month window opening, so setting a calendar reminder is essential. Trailer Village RV Park is the option for large RVs that need full hookups and books separately through the park concessioner rather than Recreation.gov. Grand Canyon Camper Village and Raptor Ranch RV Park and Campground are private operators booked directly through their own reservation systems, and they tend to hold inventory later than the in-park sites.
