Campgrounds and RV parks near Coconut Creek, FL

Butterfly World, inside Tradewinds Park on the south side of Sample Road, is the anchor attraction. It houses roughly 20,000 live butterflies and free-flying tropical birds across six outdoor aviaries, plus a Lorikeet Encounter, botanical gardens, and a research center. Tradewinds Park itself has equestrian facilities, fishing lakes, and picnic shelters, and Fern Forest Nature Center adds shaded boardwalks through cypress and oak habitat. Seminole Casino Coconut Creek offers gaming, dining, and live entertainment for evenings out. The Promenade at Coconut Creek covers shopping, restaurants, and a Silverspot Cinema. Beyond the city, Fort Lauderdale beaches sit about 25 minutes east, Sawgrass Mills outlet mall is roughly 20 minutes west, and Everglades airboat operators and Big Cypress National Preserve are within reach for day trips.

South Florida runs on a two-season pattern: a warm, dry winter and a hot, wet summer. Peak RV season in Coconut Creek is December through April, when highs sit in the mid-70s Fahrenheit, humidity drops, and mosquito pressure is lowest. Snowbird demand is strong across this window, and the larger resorts in Margate and the surrounding area often book monthly stays well in advance. June through October is the wet season. Afternoon thunderstorms are near-daily, and the Atlantic hurricane season officially runs from June 1 through November 30, with peak activity in August and September. September is typically the wettest month in the Fort Lauderdale area. RV travelers in this window should track the National Hurricane Center and confirm park evacuation policies. Late spring and early fall are transitional. May and November are typically drier and less crowded, though May heat and humidity climb quickly and November can still see tropical activity.

The RV parks closest to Coconut Creek are suburban, gated resort communities rather than wooded campgrounds. Expect paved or concrete pads, full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, laundry, pools, and clubhouses. Aztec RV Resort- Motorcoach is limited to Class A coaches and enforces age and condition standards on rigs, so travelers should confirm eligibility before booking. Roads in and around the city are flat, well-signed, and easy to navigate in a large rig, but I-95, the Florida Turnpike, and Sample Road get congested in winter and at rush hour. Fuel and dump stations are widely available. Wildlife in the surrounding parks includes alligators, wading birds, and the occasional manatee in coastal waterways. Mosquitoes and no-see-ums are heavy in summer, particularly near the Everglades, so bring repellent and screens.
