Campgrounds and RV parks near Opa-locka, FL

Opa-locka sits in north-central Miami-Dade County, wedged between Miami, Hialeah, and the Broward County line. RV renters use it as a base to reach Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Everglades National Park without committing to a single destination. Interstate 95, the Florida Turnpike, and the Palmetto Expressway all touch the area, which keeps drive times to major attractions under an hour in normal traffic. The closest full-service RV parks cluster just north of the city line in Hollywood and Davie. Hollywood KOA sits along the US 441 corridor between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and the Davie/Fort Lauderdale KOA Holiday and Twin Lakes Travel Park serve travelers who want to stay closer to Broward beaches and the airport. Florida Park Miami and Northcoast Park and Marina round out the nearby options for RV renters looking for a South Florida basecamp. Because the region is dense and coastal, sites tend toward paved pull-throughs with full hookups rather than shaded, wooded pads. Reservations are strongly recommended in the winter high season.

Private RV parks in the area take reservations directly. Hollywood KOA and Davie/Fort Lauderdale KOA Holiday are booked through KOA.com or by phone, with KOA Rewards members receiving a discount at checkout. Twin Lakes Travel Park, Florida Park Miami, and Northcoast Park and Marina handle their own bookings through their websites or front offices. Everglades National Park uses two systems. Frontcountry sites at Flamingo and Long Pine Key are reserved through Flamingo Adventures, the park concessioner. Wilderness backcountry permits are booked on Recreation.gov on a rolling ninety-day window that opens daily at 10:00 a.m. Eastern. Walk-up wilderness permits are no longer offered, so same-day trips still require the online system.
