Campgrounds and RV parks near Washington Park, FL

Washington Park is a small census-designated place in Broward County, Florida, tucked into the east-central portion of the county just west of Fort Lauderdale. The area sits at low elevation on the coastal plain, roughly ten miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and within easy reach of Atlantic beaches, the Intracoastal Waterway, and U.S. Route 441. RV travelers use Washington Park as a base for exploring greater Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and the northern edge of the Miami metro. Private RV parks dominate the immediate area because the CDP itself is densely built and lacks public campgrounds. Sunshine Holiday MHCC RV and Camping Resort, Paradise Island RV Resort, Yacht Haven Park and Marina, Florida Park Fort Lauderdale, and Twin Lakes Travel Park are all within a short drive and offer full-hookup sites suited to Class A, Class C, and travel-trailer rentals. For state and federal camping, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park lies on the beach side of Fort Lauderdale, and Everglades National Park sits about 90 minutes south for a longer outing.

Private RV parks in the Fort Lauderdale area handle their own reservations, most commonly by phone or through their own websites. Sunshine Holiday MHCC RV and Camping Resort, Paradise Island RV Resort, Yacht Haven Park and Marina, Florida Park Fort Lauderdale, and Twin Lakes Travel Park all take direct bookings and often require a deposit plus a minimum stay in peak winter months. Florida state parks, including Hugh Taylor Birch, use the Florida State Parks reservation system. Florida residents can book up to 11 months in advance, while non-residents can book up to 10 months out, with the daily window opening at 8 a.m. Eastern. Everglades National Park frontcountry sites at Flamingo and Long Pine Key are managed by the Flamingo Adventures concessionaire, and wilderness backcountry permits are booked on Recreation.gov.
