Campgrounds near Easton, Maryland
Easton sits on Maryland's Eastern Shore in Talbot County, roughly ten miles inland from the Chesapeake Bay and its tidal rivers. The town is a practical base for RV travelers exploring the Delmarva Peninsula, with public campgrounds concentrated along the Choptank River and Tuckahoe Creek watersheds to the north and east, and private parks scattered toward Kent Island and the bay shoreline.
The closest public options are Tuckahoe State Park and Martinak State Park, both booked through the Maryland Park Service reservation system for campsites, cabins, and mini-cabins. Camp Todd, a Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay property on Lake Williston near Denton, offers tent, Adirondack, and lodge stays through its own booking channel. Private parks in the area include Bay Shore Campground and Holiday Park Campground, which typically offer full hookups for larger rigs.
Most RV travelers use Easton as a hub for day trips to St. Michaels, Oxford, Tilghman Island, and the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge to the south, while overnighting at one of the surrounding parks.
Things to do near Easton
Tuckahoe State Park offers a small lake for paddling and fishing, plus hiking and mountain-biking trails through hardwood bottomland, along with a disc golf course and an arboretum. Martinak State Park sits along the Choptank River and Watts Creek, with boat launches, a fishing pier, and shaded picnic areas that suit families with young kids.
Off-site, Easton's historic downtown has walkable shops and restaurants, and nearby St. Michaels is home to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, about an hour south, is known for bald eagles and a scenic wildlife drive.
Water activities dominate: kayaking on the Tuckahoe and Choptank, crabbing off public piers, and cycling the flat rural roads that make the Eastern Shore popular with touring cyclists.

The main camping season on the Eastern Shore runs from spring through fall. May and June bring warm days, blooming vegetation, and the start of the biting-insect season, with mosquitoes and greenhead flies most active near tidal marshes. Early fall, from mid-September through October, is often the best window for RV travel: cooler nights, lower humidity, and fewer bugs.
Midsummer is hot and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms common. Waterfront sites book well ahead for weekends and holidays, and reservations for campsites and cabins at Maryland state parks open up to 365 days in advance on a rolling daily basis, so high-demand dates can fill quickly.
Winter camping is limited. Many private parks close or reduce services from late fall through early spring, and state park campgrounds run on shortened seasons with reduced amenities. Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November, with the greatest risk of tropical impacts in August and September.
How to book Easton campgrounds
Public campsites at Tuckahoe State Park and Martinak State Park are reserved through the Maryland Park Service at parkreservations.maryland.gov, with bookings available up to 365 days ahead of arrival. Camp Todd is owned by Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay and is booked directly through the council or its listing on Campspot, not through the state system.
Private parks such as Bay Shore Campground and Holiday Park Campground handle reservations directly by phone or through their own websites, and often require deposits for weekend and holiday stays.
For summer weekends, book as early as possible. Registered campers are limited to 14 cumulative nights of camping in Maryland state park campgrounds during any 21-day period, so plan longer itineraries across multiple parks.
What to expect at Easton campgrounds
Terrain around Easton is flat to gently rolling, with pine and mixed hardwood forest, tidal creeks, and open farmland. Roads leading to the campgrounds are paved and generally easy for larger RVs, though some park access roads narrow near the sites.
At state parks, expect a mix of electric and non-electric sites, bathhouses with showers, and dump stations, but limited full-hookup availability. Tuckahoe's electric loop offers electric hookups without water or sewer at the site, with water pumps along the road and centralized fill and dump points near the entrance. Private parks in the area, including Bay Shore Campground and Holiday Park Campground, more commonly offer water, electric, and sewer hookups suited to larger rigs.
Cell coverage is generally reliable near Easton and thinner in the Tuckahoe drainage. Bring insect repellent, especially near marsh edges, and expect ticks in wooded areas from spring through fall.

Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can explore the Chesapeake with real peace of mind. You choose your protection level at checkout (not the host), so you can match coverage to your trip and budget. Roadside assistance handles flat tires, lockouts, jump starts, and towing anywhere from Easton out to Assateague Island or across the Bay Bridge. Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every reservation includes a grace-period window where you can cancel for a full refund shortly after booking. Beyond that, refunds scale based on how far out from your trip start date you cancel. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or provides travel credit so your plans are protected. You will see the applicable policy at checkout before you pay. If plans change, message RVezy support through the Help Center and they will walk you through your options.

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental Easton options are easy to find. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see listings where hosts welcome dogs (and sometimes cats). On the road, Tuckahoe State Park and Martinak State Park both allow leashed pets in campsites and on trails, and Idylwild Wildlife Management Area near Federalsburg is a favorite for quiet dog walks. Easton itself is dog-friendly: many shops on Harrison Street put out water bowls, and the Talbot County dog park is a great mid-trip stretch stop. Message your host about any pet fees before booking.
dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/Pages/eastern/Tuckahoe.aspxCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Easton?
Yes, RV delivery Easton is one of the most popular options for first-time renters, and many local hosts offer it. They will tow or drive the RV straight to Tuckahoe State Park, Martinak State Park, a private waterfront site, or your driveway in St. Michaels or Oxford, then level it, connect hookups, and walk you through every system. That means no driving a big rig over the Bay Bridge on your first day. Delivery fees are set by the host and usually scale by distance. To find delivery-ready listings, use the Delivery filter on RVezy and confirm the drop-off address with your host before booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Easton%2C%20MarylandHow far can I drive on my Easton RV trip, and which hosts offer unlimited mileage?
You have plenty of range from Easton. Hosts set their own mileage policies, and many offer 100 to 150 free miles per night, with some listing RV rental with unlimited mileage, ideal for longer Mid-Atlantic loops. From Easton, popular drives include Assateague Island National Seashore (about 80 miles east), Ocean City (about 75 miles), Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware (about 75 miles), Washington, DC (about 70 miles), and Shenandoah National Park (about 165 miles). Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.45 each. Tip: estimate your route in Google Maps, then filter listings by mileage policy to find one that fits your plan without surprise fees.

parkreservations.maryland.gov/When is the best time of year for an Easton RV trip?
The sweet spot for an Easton RV trip is mid-April through late October, when daytime highs run from the mid-60s in spring and fall to the upper 80s in July and August. May and September are arguably the best months: warm days in the 70s and low 80s, lower humidity, and fewer mosquitoes than peak summer. November brings the famous Waterfowl Festival to downtown Easton and crisp 50 to 60 degree days, perfect for cozy RV weekends. Winters are mild for the region (lows around 28 degrees), but many state park campgrounds close from December through March, so plan accordingly.
weather.gov/lwx/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Easton?
You will do great. Easton is one of the easiest places in the Mid-Atlantic for first time renting an RV. Roads are flat, traffic is light, and US-50 through town has wide lanes built for tourist traffic heading to Ocean City. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through propane, slide-outs, water systems, and dump procedures before you drive off. You can also message your host with questions anytime during your trip. If you are nervous about towing or driving across the Bay Bridge, request delivery and the host will bring the rig to your campsite ready to use.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002736494-RentersWhat happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on US-50, a dead battery at Martinak State Park, or a lockout in St. Michaels gets handled with one phone call. Your host is also a message away through the RVezy app and can troubleshoot quirks specific to their RV, like a stubborn awning or generator. For bigger issues, RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after the trip. Save the roadside number in your phone before pickup and you will roll out feeling fully covered.

nps.gov/hatu/index.htmWhat kind of fuel mileage should I expect and how much will gas cost?
Plan for honest numbers: Class C motorhomes around Easton average 8 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG), campervans get 14 to 18 MPG, and a truck towing a travel trailer typically runs 10 to 13 MPG. Maryland gas prices generally hover near the national average, with reliable fill-ups along US-50 between Easton and Salisbury and at Royal Farms stations on the Eastern Shore. For a typical 200-mile weekend loop in a Class C, budget roughly $80 to $110 in fuel. Tip: gas up the night before pickup and avoid the pricier stations right off the Bay Bridge in Kent Island.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Easton?
For Maryland state parks like Tuckahoe and Martinak, book through parkreservations.maryland.gov as soon as your dates are firm. Summer weekends, holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), and the November Waterfowl Festival weekend often sell out three to six months ahead. Maryland state parks generally require a two-night minimum on weekends in peak season and a three-night minimum on holiday weekends. For private campgrounds like Holiday Park, you can usually book one to two months out. Insider tip: weekday arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) almost always have availability, even in peak July.
parkreservations.maryland.gov/What are driving conditions like around Easton and the Eastern Shore?
Driving around Easton is refreshingly easy. The Eastern Shore is famously flat, roads are well-maintained, and traffic is minimal outside of Friday evening summer beach traffic on US-50 heading toward Ocean City. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge (US-50/301) can back up on summer weekends, so cross before 10 AM eastbound on Fridays or after 8 PM westbound on Sundays. Watch for sudden coastal thunderstorms in July and August, and be aware of deer at dawn and dusk on rural routes like MD-404 and MD-33 to St. Michaels. Overall, it is easy, scenic driving country for any motorhome rental Easton trip.
chart.maryland.gov/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Easton?

Martinak State Park offers 30-amp electric sites, shared water fill stations, and a dump station. Private parks in the broader region include full hookups with 50-amp service and some offer waterfront sites. Most parks have potable water fills near the entrance. dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/Pages/eastern/Martinak.aspxWhat features come standard in an Easton RV rental?
Most RVs you will rent in Easton come fully equipped for a comfortable Chesapeake trip. Expect a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet, sleeping for 4 to 8 depending on floorplan, air conditioning and propane heat, a dinette that often converts to a bed, and seatbelts for travel. Many listings include a TV, and some offer Wi-Fi hotspots, generators, or solar setups, ideal for boondocking near Blackwater Wildlife Refuge. Each listing page details exactly what is included. Filter by Sleeps count and RV type (Class B, Class C, travel trailer) to match your group size and comfort level.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Easton%2C%20MarylandWhat add-ons can I get and how does pickup or drop-off work?
Hosts in the Easton area offer genuinely useful add-ons: linen and kitchen kits, camp chairs and outdoor rugs, portable grills, bike racks, kayaks (a must for paddling Tuckahoe Creek), generators, and even pet packages. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Easton, St. Michaels, or Trappe; drop-off mirrors pickup unless you have arranged delivery. Mileage policies and generator-hour limits are listed clearly on each listing. Tip: if you want a one-way campervan rental Easton trip ending somewhere else, message hosts before booking; popular one-way routes head toward DC, Philadelphia, or the Outer Banks.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Easton%2C%20MarylandHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is fully online through RVezy, so no cash or paper checks change hands with the host. You pay the rental total plus taxes and any add-ons by credit card at booking. A refundable security deposit is separate from the booking payment and is pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup, then released after a clean return. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos of the RV exterior, interior, generator hours, and odometer at pickup and again at drop-off, and return it with the same fuel and propane levels. Easy and transparent from start to finish.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhere can I dump tanks and fill fresh water near Easton?
You have several easy options around Easton for dumping and filling. Tuckahoe State Park maintains a public dump station and potable water fill near its campground entrance (about 15 minutes from downtown Easton), and Martinak State Park also offers a dump station for guests. Some private campgrounds in the region offer dump services to non-guests for a small fee. Always fill your fresh tank from a clearly marked potable water spigot, never the rinse hose at the dump station. Tip: dump on your way home rather than mid-trip to keep your travel days simple and your rig lighter on fuel.
