Campgrounds near Eden, Maryland
Eden sits in Wicomico County on Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore, roughly ten miles south of Salisbury and within easy reach of the Nanticoke and Pocomoke rivers, Chesapeake Bay tributaries, and Atlantic beaches at Assateague and Ocean City. The surrounding tidewater landscape mixes farmland, pine forest, and cypress-lined river bottoms, and it supports a mix of state-park campgrounds and privately run family parks that welcome RVs.
Within a short drive of Eden, RV travelers can choose Lake Somerset Campground, Woodlawn Camp Ground, Sandy Hill Family Camp on the Nanticoke River, and Roaring Point Waterfront Campground, all privately operated. Farther east near Snow Hill, Shad Landing at Pocomoke River State Park anchors the public-land option with well-developed loops along the Pocomoke River.
Most sites in the area are level, shaded, and suited to travel trailers and Class C motorhomes. Big rigs are accepted at several parks, but tight interior roads at the state park mean drivers of longer coaches should confirm site dimensions before booking.
Things to do near Eden
Water is the main draw. The Nanticoke and Pocomoke rivers support fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and small-boat cruising, and marked paddling trails on the Pocomoke are gentle enough for beginners. Shad Landing provides a full-service marina with a boat ramp with no launch fee, seasonal kayak and SUP rentals from Memorial Day through Labor Day, a fishing pier, two playgrounds, and over four miles of hiking trails through the Pocomoke forest.
Families use Eden as a base for day trips to Assateague Island to see the wild ponies and Atlantic surf, Ocean City for the boardwalk, and Salisbury Zoo for a walkable afternoon. Closer in, Sandy Hill Family Camp offers a private beach for swimming and paddle boarding, boat ramps, a fishing and crabbing pier, a playground, and a rec hall with a game room.
Hiking is modest but pleasant, with short nature loops through the Pocomoke forest and additional trails at several private parks.

The prime RV season on Maryland's Lower Shore runs from mid-spring through mid-fall. Private parks generally follow that window: Sandy Hill Family Camp is open from April 1st through December 15th, and neighboring properties keep similar schedules. Summer weekends, especially around Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day, book heavily because the area feeds beach traffic to Ocean City and Assateague.
Shad Landing at Pocomoke River State Park runs on a mixed calendar. Acorn Trail, Robin's Nest, and Water's Edge loops operate year-round, while Blue Heron, Deer Run, and Fox Den have seasonal availability from spring through fall. Electric loops fill first in summer, so shoulder-season trips in April, May, September, and October offer more site choice, cooler nights, and lighter mosquito pressure.
Late summer and early fall carry a real, if usually modest, tropical-storm and nor'easter risk on the Eastern Shore. Travelers should watch National Hurricane Center advisories in August and September and be prepared to reroute if a coastal storm approaches. Winter camping is limited to the year-round loops at Shad Landing and a small number of hardy private sites.

It was an amazing experience! The RV was new and very clean with paper products and some chairs and a table!
Cristina B. - Sep 2026
The RV was exactly what we needed and as pictured. We would 100% would rent again and would recommend. There were many things that we packed, thinking there would be nothing in the RV; but there were paper plates, paper towels, toilet paper, utensils: plastic reusable cups, bowls, pots, pans, a strainer, knives, and plates. There was also a boogie board, pillows, scented spray and multiple cleaning supplies, as well as hand soap. The RV was clean and set up properly when we arrived. There were also 2 outdoor reclining chairs and an outdoor table. The awning worked as it should, as well as the electric and generator. The stove was propane and had propane there already. The generator (additional cost) worked great and was easy to start, and refilled with gas. The electric was mostly solar power. The toilet worked well. We didnt utilize the shower, so we dont know about that, but they did fill our water tank for us prior to arrival. Overall, would absolutely recommend if you're looking for a great company to rent an RV from!

How to book near Eden
Public and private campgrounds near Eden use different systems, so travelers usually book in two places. For Shad Landing at Pocomoke River State Park, reservations are available via parkreservations.maryland.gov or by calling 1-888-432-2267. Reservations at Maryland state parks are available 365 days in advance of the arrival date.
Private parks take direct reservations through their own websites or by phone. Sandy Hill Family Camp, Lake Somerset Campground, Woodlawn Camp Ground, and Roaring Point Waterfront Campground each handle bookings in-house, and some also list inventory on third-party platforms.
For peak summer weekends, book eight to twelve weeks ahead, and longer for holiday weekends. Electric sites in the Acorn and Deer Run loops at Shad Landing fill faster than the non-electric options, so flexible travelers can often find last-minute space in a non-electric loop or at a smaller private park.
What to expect
Expect flat terrain, sandy soils, and heavy shade from loblolly pine and hardwoods. Sites at the state park are spread across several loops with different rules: electric hookups are available in Acorn Trail, Deer Run, and Robin's Nest loops, and all sites include a picnic table and fire ring. Campers with pets should book specifically into Water's Edge or Acorn loops, as those are the designated pet-friendly areas.
RV length matters. RVs up to 50 feet are permitted, though reviewers note that anything over 35 feet may have difficulty maneuvering into the tighter spots. Private sites at Sandy Hill include 30 amp electric service and water, plus picnic tables and campfire rings.
Cell coverage is workable but uneven under heavy tree cover, and mosquitoes and biting flies are active from late May through September. Pack repellent, screen rooms, and a plan for daytime shade.
